  1. Just to add an answer as well... A ahem "friend of mine" laid it out like this. A pipe is about .4 but can vary greatly depending on the size of the head. Water pipes are the same. Joints and blunts depending on paper size can fit anywheres up to 3.5 grams( more if you have a little Cuban in you). Each delivery method "wastes" a certain amount as well. Vaporizers are the best delivery method for the least amount of waste. As others have mentioned tolerance as well as quality make a huge difference. People have laid that out quite successfully. As for aggressive driving?!?! Never have I once been too aggressive. I mean my friend. Wait what were we talking about?
  2. Don't you know the best way to get a kid to mature is give him millions and a sense of entitlement being the face of an nfl franchise?!
  3. I didn't find anything captivating... She is a psycho! Very at ease while on the stand swiveling back and forth shows absolutely no remorse. Yikes!
  4. This is why I posted it. I think watching the kid he has tons of tools that will help him in the NFL. I have also read about him being intelligent and a student of the game. I just clearly remember saying to my sister - "look at the qb he couldn't care less" and that scares the bejeesus out of me. I hope it was just immaturity and that this one anecdote doesn't explain him but as I said it's tough to shake. All of this said, if the Bills don't draft him - I don't give a hill of beans whether he cares or not lol. 518 attempts (to be exact) and how many ints? He put up stats no doubt. Tds, completions, etc... but the lack of ints should be very telling to you that he makes good decisions with the ball and has accuracy add in his ypa of 8.1 and it's very telling that he wasn't just throwing screens and dump offs. I'll save you the time - 6. 6 ints which at 518 attempts would put him among the NFL leaders (actually above every NFL qb in the league this year 1:86.3 attempts - NFL Leader Aaron Rodgers 1:69)
  5. I know I should watch but I can't stand the circle jerk that it is. Interrupting for a standing ovation after every sentence is just above and beyond annoying. That said..... Why is it so "cool" to bash the president now. It started with Bush so is this just pay back for the other side? Is it just that we have had back to back bad president's (that somehow managed second terms - basically bc of poor opponents)? Or is this just the new norm and the office doesn't deserve respect anymore? Kennedy had tons of warts (womanizer, questionable war history, etc..) and yet is revered still to this day. What happened to the office of President?
  6. This is the reservation I have about Smith. I was very close to the WVU sideline at the dome in 2011. It was Chandler Jones coming out party (and why I was so high on him last year) and Cuse absolutely smashed what was the 11th ranked wvu team. The final score ended up being 49-23. Geno threw 2 picks and was sacked 4 times (as an interesting aside Marrone won all 3 of the games against WVU that Smith started holding the O to 14, 23, and 14 points - he must know something about Smith's weaknesses) I went to the game expecting SU to get blown out but was looking forward to seeing Smith in action. He wasn't good. Bad days are bad days and normally that wouldn't be the end all be all, but his demeanor was concerning. He went from (all of this is imo) apathetic in the early going to laughing it up on the sidelines late. I didn't see a rah-rah rally the troops leader. I didn't see a guy that frankly seemed to care very much. The stats are there and so is the accuracy but I can't shake that night whenever Smith is mentioned. btw what is up with these chicken little sky is falling threads? Levitre is leaving, SMith will be gone!!! Do people around here just enjoy being miserable and fearing the worst?!?! I know we're Bills fans but come on...
  7. ah everything right here in one post! The Senior Bowl! what a great place to judge talent! The senior bowl is more about the practices than it is the game and even then it is a crap shoot. You know who improved their stock the most at the Senior Bowl? Geno Smith by not going. Shocked if he goes before the 4th round.... be ready bc as I've linked (and if you googled) it will happen. EJ is a better prospect at all aspects of the game (except for yard and tds) but those aren't important. I'm not trying to pick on you but the certainty/negativity is mind boggling. I like a few qbs in this draft (Barkley, EJ, Nassib in that order) but could very well be wrong about Smith (demeanor/leadership), Wilson (system/hand size), Bray (so many concerns), etc.. All of these guys have something that is leading them to be discussed as future "franchise qbs." I'll stop if we can all agree that Nassib will go in the second at the latest and just stop with the 4th, 5th, 6th round junk. If not put yer money where your mouth is...
  8. I will give that to you since you explained yourself better but when does he become a "good pick?" If he is meant to be the team's centerpiece 8 is not to early. If a trade down is an option (one which I too would fully support btw) how far down do you go? To me if there is no option to trade down 8 is fine bc I don't see any scenario where he is around at 40. (this is all IF he is even there guy - my pure speculation is it will be Barkley)
  9. SO everyone (alright most people) in this thread are convinced Nassib is going to be terrible? The Senior Bowl being the most oft repeated reason. I love the certainty in this thread. Brian Brohm was used as an example - if any prospect gets compared it should be Tyler Wilson. He had the same coach and did terrible without him. It's time for a cool cucumber in the pocket - just like Peyton Manning... oh wait. I cannot imagine what motivating factors (besides desperation) would cause folks to see this kid as anything but a 5th or 6th rounder - Ryan Nassib is on the radar of the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets. All three teams "think highly" of Nassib, (and that was just the first of many links when googling Nassib) Is this similar to Whitner and Eric Flowers shooting up the draft board? -Or if you want to be optimistic it's like Stephon Gilmore last year or Patrick Peterson the year before. I want no part of any "dalton type QB" - you know the guy who took a terrible franchise to the playoffs his first 2 years in the league... yeah me neither If he's our starter in '13, it's a MINIMUM three more years of suckdom before we blow another draft, and settle for a different bum in 2017. - wow before he has even taken a snap he will be the SOLE reason for 3 more years of suckdom (which I would be willing to bet you think will happen no matter who is drafted) I'm in the "I think Nassib will be a good pro" camp and think that the situation couldn't be any more perfect for him. A prospect that almost everyone is hyping as at least a late first round pick, whose head coach is now the Bills HC, same with OC, could be had by the Bills and everyone is mad at the idea? This gives him the biggest advantage by knowing the system and coached which lessens the learning curve, but this is a terrible thing? I've watched him many many times and this year I thought to myself this is an NFL qb. Time will tell.
  10. I actually think this is prob the worst show I have ever seen. Bad dialogue corny jokes just nothing funny at all. Then again at 31 and make I'm probably not their target demographic...
  11. Dammit I spent all my money! I'm sure the numbers that I put on players were more than optimistic and they won't really be an option. I think the players I listed would be good adds for the team (and I'm playing with monopoly money ) Steelers 2013 Unrestricted Free Agents (not much here in the way of value/ age) S Will Allen QB Charlie Batch WR Plaxico Burress S Da'Mon Cromartie-Smith LB Larry Foote RG Ramon Foster WR David Gilreath NT Casey Hampton CB Justin King QB Byron Leftwich OG Doug Legursky CB Keenan Lewis LB Marshall McFadden RB Rashard Mendenhall FS Ryan Mundy TE Leonard Pope LT Max Starks NT Alameda Ta'amu LS Greg Warren
  12. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. I usually will "watch" as I do chores around the house. If something particularly interesting comes on I'll sit down and watch. Maybe I will try out KOK's idea though just to get a jump on the late round picks.
  13. IIRC they did this last year resigning Chandler and others before focusing their attention on Stevie. There is still more than a month before FA and a couple of weeks before franchise designations are due.
  14. Very interesting thanks for posting. Interestingly enough Polian has Cary Williams rated as an A in spite of the stat you posted. I thought he played well and never stood out to me as a player that was continually picked on (like Culliver on the niners did). I wonder how many of the first downs he gave up were as he got his feet wet. MAuluga is also rated an A by Polian but I don't neccesarily agree. He appears to be a borderline guy. One who I would like the pick up and I think could start immediately but I am unsure of the cost/benefit ratio for him. McKelvin is tough to judge. ST is not a big selling point as returners are dime a dozen. Does he get paid on potential at cb or his (lack of) production at the spot. I thought he came on in place of Williams last year and would love to see him back. The cost is definitely something worth paying attention to.
  15. Assuming the Bills have 30.4 (from the thread 9.8 million carry over + 20.6 in cap space) million my dream off season would go this way: Resign Byrd 7 million (slightly more than the franchise tag #) Resign Levitre 5.2 million (Ben Grubbs Money) Resign McKelvin 3.5 million (This # seems reasonable to me for him. His value is more as a return man than a cb - although I think he did improve this year in that regard) That is 15.2 million leaving 15.2 for Rookies and other signings. Rookie cap at about 7.2 million (I'm guessing at this number because I couldn't find it anywhere online) leaving 8 million for other free agents. I'd like more money so I'd cut; Kelsay (4.175), McGee (2.1) and Wilson (3.375) giving me total 17.65 to spend where I see fit. My signings: Phillip Wheeler OLB Raiders - I don't think Kruger (although I would be very happy with him) will be an option and wheeler is coming off of a prove me season where he did. I think he could be had for a reasonable contract somewhere in the 5 million a year range. Brad Jones MLB Packers - 3 down lb and the position that needs the most help. 6 million a year. Domenik Hixon WR Giants - I know people are all over Jennings, Bowe, Wallace, etc... but each of those receivers are going to want a lot of many and all of them have issues. Jennings injury, Bowe incosistency, and Wallace inconsistency/wants big bucks. Hixon has produced when given the opportunity and I think he would be a great value signing. 2.5 million a year Cary Williams CB Ravens - CB is a need on this team and Williams did well filling in for Webb this year. I think he is the guy pinched out due to lack of money. 3.5 million a year. I think this would fill all of our needs before the draft (except qb) leaving us able to pick the bpa whenever it is our turn. Some of these numbers are fluid (rookie wage allotment) and I have no idea what all of these players demands would be. The numbers seemed fair to me but it's play money. Hopefully the real dollars match up. So what do you guys think?
  16. It must be Mr. Sunshine. I made it bigger and bolder to help you out this time though. I will be following his injuries. 3 of the last 4 years he has had injury issues. He missed an entire year, was severely hampered at the end of one (Chase Blackburn for the int!), and missed a chunk of this year. It is starting to be a trend Mr. Sunshine and one that I will be paying attention to. That is all I was pointing out. I'm not going to speculate on the reasons why because it would be just that speculation. The rep for him and reason he slid in the draft was how the concern over how long would his body hold up. I think we are seeing signs that it might not be that long.
  17. Wow she is one manly mom! I honestly thought she was a he until reading the caption.
  18. Yikes I feel good about mine... Bought a duplex and live downstairs while renting out the upstairs. Had the perfect setup as I rented to friends. As life goes eventually my friends moved out and I had to rent to a stranger. Waded through a bunch of terrible prospects before a guy in his mid 20's came to look at the place. He liked it and he wasn't a scumbag so I offered it to him. He had just broken up with his gf whom he had a >1 year old with. 1.5 months into the lease he tells me she got evicted and needed a place to stay until the end of the month when her new apt. would be ready. I reluctantly agreed. Then I found out she had 3 other kids. This is a 2 bedroom apt. with 5/6 rooms total and they had 4 kids and 2 adults living there. Living downstairs from that was pure torture. The girl was incredibly lazy and never took the kids out even though I have 2 parks within a 1/4 mile of my house. The month was up and she didn't move out. I mentioned something to him and he told me there was a hold up. End of next month she's still there. It continued for 3 months until I told him she had to leave or they had to leave. He said she would leave. After another month there lease is over and I inform them I won't be extending the lease. They asked for a few extra days and I gave it to them which turned out to be 2 weeks. He called me and asked me to come upstairs to do final walk through where I got ambushed by 2 of the kids "why are you making us move out and splitting up mommy and daddy?" Got letters from the welfare department for a few months after. She had been claiming that she was paying the rent and it was much more than I had been charging her. She was using it to get extra benefits. I knew the girl who worked at the welfare office, made a sworn statement, and the girl got busted a few months later for welfare fraud. The guy called me and thanked me, as he would now get custody of his kid, and he was free from her. Not sure if that stayed permanent but my hands were clean. I still think he was an incredibly nice guy and felt bad evicting him - her? Not so much.
  19. Is it funny because you disagree? Or is it funny for a different reason. I have seen a few mocks with Nassib going to the Chiefs #1. At this point it is a guessing game and the "mocks" get more and more accurate as these people work their contacts. I watched a lot of Nassib and think he can turn into a good NFL qb. I also have seen alot of Geno Smith as well as others. Nobody in this class has separated themselves so people are going to have varying opinions. Add in that QB is such a vital position and it isn't a far stretch to think the top rated player at the most important position would be rated #1. But go ahead continue on your anti-Nassib crusade. If you feel he isn't going to be good that's all fine and well we won't know until this fall. As for Russ Lande - he has worked in the NFL (the big knock on Kiper and McShay) and works for a national publication (Sporting News). He may know a thing or 2 more about scouting than you fwiw (not saying you can't disagree with him). I think the "guessing" isn't guessing at all. I think they work their contacts and find out who will go where and that is how they are accurate. Talent assesment (as you pointed out) is the key trait to look for in these prognosticators. I don't care where players are slotted I care about their talent, projection to the next level, etc.. Mayock is very good in this regard and I actually also used to enjoy Lande (when I had a subscription to sporting news before their service went wonky).
  20. Ah mr. Sunshine... No not his partying as I said I don't care. I think his injury trend/history is something that is concerning and worth paying attention to. I have no idea why and didn't speculate. This isn't the Stevie works out thread. Nice reading comprehension though.
  21. I'm gonna go ahead and do it... Gronk is injury prone. He missed all of 09 while in college. 2010 limited action - injury free. 2011 ankle injury hampered him in the superbowl. 2012 broken arm twice put him out. 3 of the last 4 years he has had injury problems. His hard playing style does not benefit him on the field and his hard partying doesn't benefit him off the field. I have no opinion on his actions off the field as they don't matter much to me, I just think we are seeing a trend and it is something I will certainly be following.
  22. This thread may be dead but I have too much real life experience with this to not add... I spent close to 10 years working in a psychiatric hospital for children and saw, heard, witnessed, and read about terribly despicable things that happened to these kids. I always had one comment to them when they first showed up: I know life has sucked and bad things have happened to you. You now have two choices - let that defeat you and continue on with a crappy life blaming every bad thing that happens to you on it or using it as motivation to rise up and be the reason you are a strong person. You can let it defeat you or you can defeat it. Unfortunately most chose to let it defeat them bc overcoming obstacles is difficult and blaming others is easy. We all are dealt hands in life some are straight flushes and some are ace high but every single one of us has the chance to do something about it. To improve our lot in life - whether financially, emotionally, or otherwise. It's just that most don't because it is easier to blame others than take it upon yourself to rise above it. On a different note: Back to the start pf the thead... corporal punishment can be effective if used correctly. I took several whippings growing up because I was a smart ass and trouble maker. At no time did my parents "beat me" and it taught me respect. That is to me what is lacking in this country RESPECT. Children don't respect their elders, adults don't respect other adults, and it is sad. I have long had issue with the "American dream" of biggest house, nicest car, keeping up with the joneses, etc... Now that both parents work their isn't one at home to teach them morals and values. Now that most kids are in day care there isn't the sense of family first. It is all about making the most money and having the nicest toys. Many times at the expense of raising our kids correctly - which leads to poorly adjusted adults - which leads to more poorly adjusted kids. tl,dr: it's the lack of family values that is causing many of the issues we see today.
  23. Awesome! I don't know what I'm talking about but dammit I'm right and nobody can tell me otherwise! Lol
  24. hmmm that is interesting however he threw 48 ints total in college on 1562 attempts which equals out to 1 about every 32 attempts. Tony Romo 1:34, Drew Brees 1:35, Andrew Luck 1:34, Fitz 1:32. His best year he threw 7 ints on 468 attempts which would put him at 1:63 attempts which would rank with the NFL leaders this year (Rodgers 1:69). Interesting thing to pay attention to but his Junior year was exceptional to me and enough for me to be in his camp. Interestingly enough I had this conversation with a Dolphins fan friend of mine. Said exactly this. How crazy that Todd Blackledge and Tony Eason went 1/2 a round ahead of him! As others have stated if he came out last year EVERYONE would have been on board with drafting him. Then the team lost #4 pick (and his security blanket) Matt Kalil and it was a huge blow. These are not Rob Johnson's Trojans as they only put 3 players in the draft last year (Kalil, Perry #28, and a 4th rounder), This year they will put 4 or 5 in the draft. He has succeeded with limited talent around him but this year the line play was to much to overcome. I think the Borwns are set with Weedon, he showed tremendous progress at the end of the year. 4 of his last 5 games were above 60% completion and he threw 5 tds against 3 ints. He was a first rounder last year and I would be surprised if they gave up on him so early. The Raiders may not be set with Carson Palmer but they did invest a lot in getting him as well as Terrelle Pryor so they may not want to devote any more resources to the position. As for Kelly and the Eagles, Vick is a great fit and maybe Manuel for them in the second but they will not go qb in the first. Outside of Manuel though there isn't really a qb for his system. The lions are definitely set as you stated. That leaves KC, Jax, and Arizona. (all of this obviously is imo) Man I hope so!!! I'd be happy with Barkley, Nassib, Smith, or Manuel from this draft. Nobody else really does it for me and Glennon has bust written all over him to me (so does Wilson).
