  1. NoSaint I give you credit for showing up and taking your lumps (kinda) here. Kirby has been conspicuously absent The Da'Rick threads were legendary and any new members should look them up. How many tacos have been paid out? That said (and I will preface with the statement that I was in agreement with letting him go) Da'Rick is just an example of the philosophy they were arguing about taking a chance on the physical specimen with production at a high level college conference. It doesn't make their philosophy wrong that Da'Rick didn't work out. It can work and the Bills are certainly trying it now (Da'Rick, then Henderson, even lump Incognito in there this year) but there error was discounting the high motor, gym rat, lunch pail (am I missing any white guy euphemisms?) STUD that is Chris Hogan! Seriously though if Hogan and Da'Rick didn't come in the same year I don't think Hogan would get half the hate he does. That catch against Minn alone would have gotten him tons of support from the board. He's just a guy who routinely outworks and out hustles people on the practice field and in the weight room. This is the second coaching staff to rave about him. Maybe it is time to cut him a little slack?
  2. No I just broke my own rule of not posting while drinking lol
  3. Oops been drinking lol. Knew he said a og here.
  4. Rd 3 pick sds... Holy cow leroi did it again! Who is their next pick so I don't have to watch tomorrow lol
  5. I had the same immediate thought as NoSaint when I saw the pick. We can all agree that safety is a need right? We can all agree that aging corners of do well moving to safety right? This gives flexibility to move graham to safety if duke struggles. So it gives us safety depth which everyone thought was a need while also giving us a young cb which is always a need for every team.
  6. It blows my mind how little this is discussed. The vitriol towards say a Mike Vick is way worse than it is towards Mayweather. It isn't just one woman either it is multiple even ending in a jail sentence in one instance. Yet somehow people just don't seem to care.
  7. Titans love mettenberger. The titans make this trade 10 times out of 10. They get 2 first round picks as well as a proven lb and de. That's 2 sure things and 2 more cracks at a difference maker. Bad trade for the Browns (Bradford has already said he won't sign anywhere before playing out this year) Bad trade for the Eagles (2 huge pieces of their defense.) Amazing trade for the Titans unless Mariotta ends up being a franchise qb (I don't think he will be)
  8. My only complaint with the schedule is opening with the colts for purely selfish reasons. The only reason I don't like it is I wanted to go to go to that game! Season opener is usually a tough one to get tickets to without paying an arm and a leg.
  9. you must not have visited the hurley thread in otw lol.
  10. Not a chance Biscuit. He will still be a very high (unintentional I swear) first round pick. He will still likely go top 5. All that needs to be done is grabbing DeAngelo WIlliams late to handcuff him. He is too god while available not to go that early. That said you heard it here first. Steeler's Pats game will be while he is serving his suspension. Not a question in my mind.
  11. Glad to see you are still going strong! My mother is at 33 years with MS. She is still rocking and rolling (mostly rolling now). It is one of the rare times that her supreme 100% Italian stubborness has served her well. I will be doing the walk again in Syracuse this year. For the first time my mother will be joining us in her scooter. Also joining us will be my daughter (stroller for the 5 month old), my grandmother, and my wife all for the first time. 4 generations of our family will be supporting this cause. This is a great charity as well. For those of you unsure about donating to rockpile here is the rating of the agency. 80% of donations make it to services that they provide.
  12. I was young for the losses about 9 when the first one happened. Then with these last 15 years... Here is an example of my sports fandom: Game 7 Lakers - Celtics. I'm a big Lakers fan (Magic Johnson was my childhood hero). Friends were getting together and invited me over. I couldn't do it. I watched the game in isolation by myself. When they won I joined my friends. If they had lost? I would have shut the tv off and stayed home alone lol. That is with a team I have rooted for just as long, watched win multiple championships, and in the grand scheme of fandom care less about that the Bills. I will be an absolute wreck the entire time leading up to the game, during the game, and after the game. The only thing that will change win or lose is euphoria or crushing depression lol. Either way I will not be at work the Monday following. If they win like I said I will be at that parade!
  13. I have thought many times about this. I told my friends for years that I would be there no matter what but I have softened on that. If the Bills win I will be crying like a baby no doubt about it. I don't know if I want that to happen in public lol. I will likely throw a big party locally. I will be at the parade no matter what if they win. The heartbreak if they lose though....
  14. When he was younger he was electric to watch. I remember seeing him on the under card and he fought just like a fight in the movies. He just threw punch after punch after punch. In a 2010 fight he threw 1231 punches! That his what originally endeared me to him. He didn't wait for the fight to come to him he took the fight to people. Unfortunately in this fight that will play right into Mayweather's style. I honestly see no way that he wins this fight which has also removed a ton of excitement for me.
  15. I give him credit for being a very good boxer and an amazing business man. That said I can't stand (and it is an issue with boxing as a whole) picking and choosing your fights based on whether or not you can win. Mayweather has never had a take on all comers attitude. I used to love boxing. Even a few years ago I would have been excited for this fight. This fight is about 5 years to late for me. I respect the hell out of Mayweather but his fights are just boring to me. MMA has taken over boxing for me and one of the main attractions is "superfights" happen regularly. There is no ducking anyone. Yup and it took a lot of excitement out of this fight bc of it.
  16. I disagree with this. I think this is a huge mistake. He should have come back for another year not just to heal but also to bulk up a bit. He showed minor flashes but any team that drafts him will be doing so hoping he pans out not because they saw something while he was at Cuse. Add in the fact that he won't be able to work out for anyone I just think he is throwing away a lot of money. Here is he #44 of prospects Chad Ford has him at #43 #44 here as well I honestly have no idea what he is thinking going pro at this point. Before the season he was talked about as a potential lottery pick but that was before his injury. Best case for him at this point is a team taking a flyer on him late in the first. I think if he returned he could have been a focal point and pushed himself back into the lottery if not top 10. If he did that he is looking at 5.5 million instead of 2.5. I immediately thought Donte Green myself. On a different note. I ended up using my tickets for the tournament. It was a bit strange being at a sporting even without having a rooting interest. Even my brackets weren't really effected by the outcome. They redid the dome and I thought it was much better. The brought in a catwalk for the top of the roll in bleachers that helped empty them out much easier. The only complaint I had was the environment was very sterile. No booze allowed by the NCAA. No SU signage (even boeheim court). Our seats were second row behind where the couch is in games. Magic Johnson (my hero growing up) was in the building so I ended up rooting for MSU. It amazed me how many fans they had in attendance. It didn't surprise me that people were rooting against Louisville but it seemed many people were rocking the green and white.
  17. Not a chance. Mayweather's fights are incredibly boring. Pacquio is over the hill. There are going to be a lot of people mad that they paid $100 to watch a 12 round Mayweather decision.
  18. It could have something to do with how out of touch the guy is as well. Game boys? What is this 1995? On a serious (? not really) note I would imagine cam shows are what is doing them in. Girls can perform in the safety of their own home and guys can watch from the comfort of their own home.
  19. I'm pretty sure this isn't the place to put this but the selling zone is dead especially in the off season. I have 2 tickets to Friday nights games and won't be able to make it. They are good seats Section 114 Row B and all I want to do is recoup my investment. There are $92.50 face with minor fees and that is what I am asking for. So 178 for the pair. If interested feel free to private message me I am local to Syracuse so it wouldn't be a big deal to meet somewhere. I am hopeful to be able to make Sunday's game but if somebody wanted those I would be willing to part with all of them as a package again simply for cost. Mods I'm sorry but please let this stand. Some very personal issues arose that preclude me from going. If you would like further explanation I can answer in pm but don't want to air my business on this thread.
  20. Eisen came off to me as kind of a douche at the start of this interview but it may have just been the dumb looks he was giving the camera with his arms crossed... Things in the interview that stood out to me: Where hopefully it'll even be half the degrees in April as it is where you are now... Did you think how come the money was there for him and I got sent to Buffalo?
  21. After the schedule I will know more. I am planning on attending 2 games this year. The Colts and the The Giants game. I'd like to see Andrew Luck play in person and I've got quite a few Giants fan friends. So I am potentially in if it is either of those 2 games. 4 at least if Colts, 6 at least if the Giants.
  22. Indeed. A rivalry to me involves both sets of fans hating each other equally. Nemesis is a very good word here.
  23. Yeah one thing and one thing only will spark this rivalry back to where it used to be. Both teams being good. The Bills unfortunately don't really have a rival right now because they have been so uncompetitive in recent years. A rivalry to me is formed when teams battle yearly for playoff positioning not the bottom of the division. Don't get me wrong I still don't like any of the teams in the AFC East but it is really hard to consider any of them our rival. In fact the Dolphins strangely might be my least hated team in the division right now. Pats* - damn they are just good every year, beat us severely and with regularity, skirt the rules of fair play at every chance, obnoxious fans Jets - a super bowl what 45 years ago? Somehow their fans think they are so much better than the Bills. Buffalo actually leads the all time series 58-51. My hatred towards them is almost purely driven by their fans. Dolphins - oh what once was. Marino-Kelly was my childhood. I hated this team with a passion. Now neither team has been a serious threat in so long the "rivalry" is meaningless. Their fans are so few and far between it is hard to hate them. On top of the fact that a majority of them are girls that like the color scheme. Long story short the Bills need to continue getting better to develop a rivalry with anybody.
  24. It was quoted earlier in the thread and it was about his 2013 season not last year.
