  1. IIRC he was kind of left hanging by Rex and co before they decided to part ways and it was late in the game to get a gig. Do you really think he didn't do a great job last year?
  2. Ryan Grigson might be one of the worst gms in all of football. He lucked into a franchise qb and his job is safe. Even though the majority of his free agent signings are busts, his draft picks aren't anything to write home about, and he has been absolutely destroyed in trades (1st for T-Rich on top of Hughes for Shephard). His job though is perfectly safe. "Being a GM in the NFL is hard"
  3. There is the metz we like. Even though we have disagreed I think this is your best post on the subject. Even if it came 2 days after you said you were swearing off posting about him until September 13th As for the first bolded comment: Cassel's ceiling in this league was reached 5 years ago. To me he is on the decline. If it is CLOSE I would prefer EJ/Tyrod to Cassel. I am in the anyone but Cassel camp more due to the fact that him winning means the season will not go will imo, him winning means the young "potential" guys didn't show as well as a league scrub, him winning puts us in the need a qb sooner rather than later and another year of our defense was wasted. If he wins I will root like hell for him and have said as much multiple times. I just hope it isn't him. To the second bolded: Amen. If he is to be any good he should be beating out Matt Cassel. Cassel showed much better than expected in game 1. All 3 of them did. I am hopeful for EJ and hopeful that he does indeed beat out Cassel because well Cassel sucks
  4. The bets won't be called into question. It is sports entertainment and at this point it is getting closer to wwe than anything else. That said this is just like a cheating spouse. If you take them back you are giving them carte blanche to do it again.
  5. So sick of JW's anti md stance! Jokes aside I really hope this gets worked out. Pure conjecture on my part but Dareus seems like the kind of guy who would be distracted by this. On the flip side, being taken care I think would help his play tremendously. 6 years 100 million doesn't seem that bad to me for what he brings. Probably Bills fan bias but he is at least close to as good as suh is minus the baggage and at least close to as good as McCoy. He has to be in consideration for top dt in the league definitely top 5.
  6. I think you guys missed my sarcasm. The study first off was done with 100 players (out of 1500 that is a ridiculously low sample size) and then the numbers were trumpeted by WEO saying that the players in the league didn't even care or think they were cheaters. He did side step 4merper4mer's brilliant posting though naming a bunch of different teams asking if players would think x team (rams, cardinals, etc..) would be that high. This is old news but continues to put dents in the reputation of the pats*** (how many are they up to now?)
  7. Yeah but only 42% of the players think they cheat! That's not even half!
  8. I just don't get it. First Metz you are embarrassing yourself. This 'trolling' or extreme sarcasm don't fit your normal very good contributions to this board. Here is what else I don't get. I am probably one of the biggest Cassel bashers here. I just don't see him leading the Bills to anything special. That said he played great during the game. 7 of 8 was a great showing by him. Even the incompletion could have been caught as it wasn't too far off target. TT played well. EJ played well. Why is it so hard for some to give EJ any credit? He played well and threw a beautiful td strike on a rope 50 yards. I thought all 3 qbs played well. Even though I don't care for Cassel I can give him credit for performing well. So going back a few pages those that asked how we can say that some people want to be right more than anything else. This is why. Give all 3 guys credit. I would wager we couldn't find a single person on this board that doesn't feel better about the qb situation now than they did Friday morning. Isn't it a good thing that all 3 played well and that is making the decision difficult instead of all 3 sucking and the coaches having to figure out which one sucked least?
  9. One of those good for a beer or 2 but can't drink them all night. They do taste amazingly like root beer though!
  10. Nope it doesn't. TT and EJ both provide hope that they can be good quality effective qbs in this league. I have no hope with Cassel. I don't buy the idea that a guy was good 7 years ago on a stacked team so he can do it again. As I said in the TT thread though. If he is named starter I will convince myself otherwise because I am a Bills fan and that is what we do!
  11. I hate this. Yes he made the Pro Bowl. I will give you that. 7 years ago he made the lone pro bowl of his career. Playing on a team that average 38.6 point per game the year before and set all sorts of records. Playing QB for a team that almost went undefeated the year before. He led them to 25.6 ppg which was almost 2 tds a game worse than the year before. So the gap from Tom Brady to Matt Cassel is 5 wins and 13 points per game....
  12. Yeah its Friday lol... http://www.nfl.com/player/kyleorton/2506444/situationalstats Same crappy format and I should add the caveat that both of these are 2014 only. 1st Half 220 141 64.1 2nd Half 227 146 64.3 1st Quarter 100 68 68.0 2nd Quarter 120 73 60.8 3rd Quarter 99 67 67.7 4th Quarter 128 79 61.7 Last Two Minutes of Half 59 36 61.0
  13. I know I appear to be an EJ crusader but I am good with this as well. The only outcome that will suck the wind out of the season is Cassel being named the starter. With Tyrod (or EJ) I can keep the dream alive. Ah hell who are we kidding. If they start Cassel I will be pissed until opening day when I convince myself that he can lead the Bills to the promised land!
  14. It is tough to say considering the small sample size. It could be a product of so many things; playing from behind, halftime adjustments, clock dictating play calling, etc...
  15. I know Cassel sucks but I don't want him cut. He will be on the Pats* immediately. They just cut Flynn, Brady will miss at least a little time so there will be a roster exemption, and they can pick his brain. After week 2 I will say to cut him he sucks
  16. Did you just skip right over the part where he said AFTER ROMAN?
  17. http://www.nfl.com/player/ejmanuel/2539228/situationalstats Sorry for formatting. It goes attempts, completions, percentage. 1st Half 68 42 61.8 2nd Half 62 33 53.2 1st Quarter 31 19 61.3 2nd Quarter 37 23 62.2 3rd Quarter 19 11 57.9 4th Quarter 43 22 51.2 Last Two Minutes of Half 24 13 54.2
  18. Actually it isn't. Would you believe the all time leader in completion % is only 66.2%. Minimum 1500 pass attempts and would you believe that there are only 35 players that are over 60%. Manuel sits at 58.6 with a little less than 500 attempts. If he were to average 68.6% he would go down as the most accurate qb in history!
  19. I'll go on record. EJ will make the team. EJ will start this year for the Bills in at least one game. Those are definitive to me. I still think EJ starts week 1. No edits let's see how poor I am at projections....
  20. Seriously... WEO I can't imagine how quick you would be to trash a study that only polls 100 people. It is no way indicative of how 1500 players feel. Who knows what team these players play for, their allegiances, etc.. that could impact their answers. That said if we take this study at face value... Isn't it crazy that 42% think the Pats* are cheaters? As 4mer has stated do you think there is any other team in the league that would approach that number? Also the number is split right down the middle on whether or not this effects the game. That doesn't scream other players don't care about this as you keep opining in this thread.
  21. Not worry about it bc EJ will have proven himself after leading the Bills to the playoffs. Oorrrrrrr Hope that jt Barret starts over cardale jones. That way hopefully his stock doesn't go crazy and the Bills will be out of purgatory!
  22. The negatives you all listed are nothing to do with the actual game of football. If he turns out to be a good player that is the positive he will contribute to the team. If not they cut him.
