  1. Don't worry. I am a reddit regular. They are a loooonnnnggg way off on quality and quantity of content. I'm subscribed to r/bills and there is nothing there that hasn't already been discussed at length here. Also the average age over there I would imagine is teens.
  2. I'm curious as to why you would cut off the rest of the quote. The part where I asked for help understanding.
  3. That is because the GOP is so out of touch. They can't continue to sell the idea that the poor people are these evil scammers trying to separate everyone from their dollar's when none of us have any dollar's to be separated from. People that used to be middle class now require assistance just to make ends meet. Very few rich old white guys can relate to anyone under 40. Add in the idea that so much of the GOP is hate based and fear mongering even many conservatives are embarrassed with that their party has become much the same as myself as a democrat and many others I know. There are blind supporters of each party and then the rest of us in the middle wondering what the f*ck is going on. I disagree to me there are many worse parts of socialism. I think government should stay out of most industry but healthcare is not one of them. I stand by my assertion that they charge what they do because there is no reason not to. Medical responsibility being in the hands of bean counters even lends itself to that idea. However I am not against being wrong so help me out. Why would obamacare drive the prices up so drastically? Is it possible that the rise in cost is tied into the aging baby boomer population which is making insurances have to pay out more? Therefore to keep their margins the same they raise rates? I'm genuinely curious and not trying to be a dick here.
  4. Yes it was but Obamacare isn't universal health care. Universal health care would remove the middle man that saw an opportunity and took advantage of it. If you sold a product and the government said everyone had to buy your product, would you raise or lower prices? That is the only reason health care costs skyrocketed - because they could. The idea that people'e health and welfare is a source of profit for others is the worst part of capitalism.
  5. I hate to put the tinfoil on so quickly into this foray into ppp but to me she is likely being trumpeted because she fits the status quo. She is the candidate that we are used to seeing and it is "her time". Add in the support (read dollars) that media companies such as Time Warner have given her and it isn't surprising to think that she is being pushed and trumpeted without actually being the leader. It wouldn't be the first time the media was less than truthful with citizens. Yup. She isn't very likable at all. I have been watching the debates and am left with this: Trump is an absolute disgrace. He preaches hate and focuses on how amazing he is and how much money he is worth. I can't imagine any sort of successful foreign policy that he could develop, implement, or spear head. He would be a downright embarrassment as THE representative for our nation on the world's stage. Hillary is close behind. She is everything that is wrong with politics. That said she is an amazing politician. I don't mean that as a positive thing but watching her debate and speak in a public forum you can just see how carefully crafted every word is. I dislike her strongly but that is impressive (again not a positive thing). Then there is the rest. Bernie Sanders is interesting and I think ultimately he will end up being the democratic nominee. Currently he has my support but (and I will duck and cover) I am a strong proponent of universal health care. It may be a post for a different topic but it isn't the evil that it is made out to be. I currently pay over $800 a month for health insurance for my family and that doesn't include co-pays, prescriptions, etc... With all of the money I paid out in 2015 it totaled over 12k. I have family that lives in Europe and has universal health care. It works very well and most of the "worries" pushed on us are bogus. Wait times aren't worse, taxes aren't high enough that they come close to what most of us pay for insurance, they still have high quality doctors, and (my favorite part) people don't have to choose between medical care and dinner.
  6. Do you really believe this? Nobody is dumb enough to think like this are they? It is weird. I know that polls say she is the favorite but I haven't met a single person who actually thinks that Hillary is a good candidate or that she deserves to be president. I'm a democrat but want no part of Hillary (unless my choice is her or Trump then my hand will be forced).
  7. Eh I keep winning and am playing with house money. Luck/skill/gambling? I don't really care lol. The only reason most people care is because of the advertising. If season long is legal then daily has to be legal. There is absolutely no difference.
  8. Ah yes that right it was the Pistons strategy.
  9. Add to the fact Belicheat is notorious for taking away what you want to do and forcing you to beat them with guys like Hogan.
  10. Two very good posts on the topic. I remember a play while watching with a friend that was a huge Jordan fan, Jordan rose up took the shot, missed it, the other team got the rebound, then the foul was called. Only then did I get him to admit to "Jordan Rules" The Patriots* are a very good team and extremely well coached. That is what makes the stretching of the rules and preferential treatment all the more obnoxious. They don't NEED it to be good. Them getting it pushes them into the spectacular stratosphere. Then hearing about how great they are gets obnoxious quick. The NBA was never more popular than it was when Jordan played. The NFL has never been more popular than it is now. These teams and the league are run by very smart people. As I have posted each time in this thread. It isn't about being rigged. It is about the stretching of the rules on their own accord (outside of league approval) and then the league slapping them on the hand that has caused me to not care as much. Not some grand conspiracy. The punishment has not fit the crime. No wins stripped, no championships stripped, no long lasting detriment, all for the benefit of the league. I totally get it and the masses are eating it up. Doesn't mean I have to like it. Little fuzzy on the facts but wasn't this the same game they called PI in the end zone on a hail mary and the team walked off before the pat? Not that I think Gruden was or wasn't referencing that game but I remember the end of that game being a big deal. If it was the same game I could see it sticking in a football junkie's brain.
  11. Eh I don't know here is what he said... I'm pretty close but I'm not there yet. Personally, I found it completely comical that Gruden literally said "just give it to em" on the Shady TD. That's an obvious reference to that infamous game and possibly a subtle admission by Gruden that this whole thing is fixed... I'm close, but not there yet. so angry. for absolutely no reason. Can you please point to anyone saying it is fixed in this thread?
  12. Who in this thread has said it was fixed. Looking the other way while a team skirts the rules isn't fixing the game in my mind. My entire post in this thread was to the point that I can't care about football as much because there is a team that regularly plays right at the border of the rules and it seems nobody in the league cares. The BB combo is a great one. However when their names are mentioned cheating is the first thought of many people. I think a lot of people specifically people here would take 4 sb championships even if it came with the cheater reputation. Was spygate, the loss of a first round pick, and a million dollar fine worth 3 championships? You bet your ass it was to the Pats*. Do you think a first round pick, 750k fine, and entire offseason of deflated ball talk was worth a championship. I'll bet it was. I would wager the Pats* have made way more than 1.75 million dollars from being a 4 time champion. That is why cheating is worth it and why I have reached the tipping point when it comes to being a die hard. I still love football. I still watch every week and plan my life around Bills games. I am nowhere near as emotionally invested as I used to be.
  13. I myself have already reached the tipping point. I just can't bring myself to care as much about the NFL as I did before. The Pats* are rewarded for skirting the rules and I can't even be mad at them. Tell me right now you wouldn't take the reputation of a cheater if it came with 4 super bowl championships. At the end of the day the Pats* make a ton of money for themselves and the league. The NFL is a business. Goodell is in place to maximize profits like any good ceo would. It isn't worth caring enough to get upset anymore.
  14. I actually have though for a while that Boston is a hot bed for HGH. David Ortiz being the golden child result. His world series performance 2 years ago sent up hug red flags for me. He didn't have more than 20 hrs while playing for the Twins then goes to Boston and runs off seasons of 31,41,47,54. This also coincides with the Patriots rise. Which included players such as Rodney Harrison having it mailed to his house in his name! Then again I am a Lakers, Yankees, and Bills fan so I hate all things Boston sports lol. As for the original topic does anyone know a way to search such info? I get that it is a physical game. However it seems extremely convenient that they have benefited from this injury streak and I just want to see if there is more to it.
  15. 27 yes thanks for the correction. I was looking at the field backwards. I had not thought of that but would say yes it is fair that it would fall on Miller and Henderson would use him to gauge his position. Both pictures are close but Henderson is clearly not lined up correctly. The pats* picture it is a little harder to tell.
  16. I have been paying attention to a trend I noticed and need help figuring out how to really dive into it. I have seen the last 3 Patriots* games and an opposing starting lineman has left the game for the rest of the game in each of them. Against the Dolphins Juwaun James was knocked out, against the Giants Weston Richburg was knocked out, and last night Jon Miller was knocked out. Add in during week 2 Seantrel was taken out for concussion protocol and I am at 4 games where the Pats* have benefited from an opposing o-line getting shook up. However I can't find in game injury reports. I would like to try and look at each game to see if it is just a weird coincidence or if it has happened in more games. I have tried googling it but can only come up with injury reports. Can anyone help with injuries that occur during the games?
  17. I don't know why I know this but I do. If you look at the top picture Seantrel is not lined up correctly. A part of him needs to be in line with the center. Not all of him just part of him. If you look Seantrel is too far back. In the bottom part it is close but it appears that the RT helmet is right at the backside of the centers butt. Basically you have to be able to draw a straight line and hit every player. In the bottom pic if you draw a line down the 33 yard line you will get every player touching that line. In the top picture Seantrel isn't too far off but it does appear he isn't lined up correctly.
  18. Out of this article... But actions speak louder than words. Peters pulled himself from the game in the fourth quarter. He missed the last two games with a back injury and was a game-time decision yet again. Wow that is so out of character for Peters
  19. I hate you guys for making me agree with WEO. Now on to my post.. A lot of you are acting like this is easy. You are acting like the refs get these calls wrong because they don't care or because they are too lazy to know the rules. These are the best of the best. You don't just get to sign up to be an NFL official. You must prove yourself starting at the High School level. I have looked into advancement with refereeing and it isn't easy. I currently ref High School soccer so get your jokes ready. That said I have looked into what it takes to move up. If any of you were to sign up to become a ref you would spend 2 years on probation before moving to "active" status. This allows you to referee varsity games. After a year or 2 of that and with a recommendation you can do college sports. You don't start d1 though you start juco/d3. From there you can move up to d1. You are looking at a 10 year minimum investment to make it to that. You are graded for every game at every level. This does very much matter. Grades are what lets you progress. Grades are your reputation. They don't just pick people that have done tons of games they pick people who have done tons of games well. You guys are acting like full time officiating is a requirement. It isn't. Football is going on for 7 months of the year. Refs attend training camp and get work in then. They also attend camps throughout the off season. This isn't a job where they do nothing all week long and show up at the stadium on Sunday ready to work. This also isn't a job you get into for the glamour and money. This is a job you do because you love the sport. Please remember these are human beings. They are not machines and can't be perfect. There are 22 players on the field. They are 7 officials. Think about that for a second. 120 yards and 22 bodies need to be watched by 14 eyes. Without the benefit of instant replay for most of their calls. As someone else said, the fact they do as well as they do is a miracle. The rule book is atrocious. To understand the rules you need to delve deep into it and learn every little ridiculous trivial rule that covers a scenario you may see once over a 25 year career. Human emotion also comes in to play. Think about how hard it is to not only see the play and make the call but then deal with 70k people yelling at you every time they think you purposely screwed them. It is a very tough job. I'm sure this won't get read by most but I had to type it out. Preemptive threads about how the refs will screw us is understandable but just wanted to offer another perspective. Lastly think about this. Bad calls go both ways. During a game you can find calls that should or should not have been made. Where the Pats* are frustrating is they seemingly capitalize on every blown call/call in their favor. That makes the calls seem worse because the end result is worse. A penalty that keeps a drive alive and results in 7 points hurts but the penalty is only part of the 7 points. Giving up the rest of the drive is on the defense/team. Now I will go puke for having to defend refs* and agreeing with WEO.
  20. I won't speak to TT other than to say I have really liked what I have seen so far. As for RW you are spot on. He was carried by an ELITE defense AND running game. He has not been a game changer. He is a game manager and is being paid as if he is elite. That has already led to dissension with Kam Chancellor and that will only increase. A perfect example is Joe Flacco, his contract, and what it has done to the Ravens. This is part of the Pats* secret to success. Brady is not paid as much as he could be and it allows them to put a better team around him.
  21. Chandler already spoke on this but I want to elaborate further.... This line of thinking is asinine. If the Bills won Super Bowl 25 would you have cared that they beat Hostetler? Do you think the Pats* care that they beat the Cowboys this year without Romo? Do you think the Jags care they beat EJ? At the end of the year wins are wins and losses are losses. Yesterday they discussed the last Pats* loss being against the Bills. They didn't mention that half the team was resting. Wins count the same if you beat the team at full strength or if you beat half the team. Bottom line at the end of the year you beat a team or not. So much of football is catching a team at the right time. Look at the Cardinals with Palmer and without him last year. If you played the Chiefs early in the year it was a much easier game than it is now. If you played the Cowboys before Romo's injury it was a much different game. If you got the Fins with Philbin you got an easier game than they are now. Can we put this "argument" to bed once and for all. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are if you win you win. The pats* have cheated their way to multiple super bowls. They won them and the league isn't taking them away. Winning is winning period. Injuries are part of the game and I'm sure Pats* players aren't thinking well they don't have their starting DT or S so this win doesn't count as much. Do you think the Pats* would be upset if Sammy, Tyrod, and Shady couldn't play because it is insulting to the team and organization. Man I hate this argument so much I don't even know if my point makes any sense lol.
  22. Those jerseys were great. I loved them and hope to see them again.
  23. Iirc both the Bills and chiefs offered a 2nd rounder for him but the Chiefs pick was higher.
  24. There is no way steve smith could pass a physical to be traded.
