  1. I too think they use the tag on him this year and I am perfectly okay with that. I think that the idea of using the tag on him was why it was so important to get the Tyrod restructure done before the start of the year. Although I don't think Gilmore is worth top 5 money, for 1 year I wouldn't be mad. A long term top 5 money deal would, imo, be a bad business decision. Your post reads as though he needs to be top 5 to be elite and I don't think that is the case. He can be borderline elite/ very good and still not worth top 5 money. Unfortunately the money will likely bear a top 5 contract for him. Some team with a ton of cap space will throw a big deal at him (if not franchised) and he will likely take it. 16 teams have more than 38 million in cap space for the upcoming year. Also your links have not done much for your argument. One had Gilmore as the 11th best cb (at least 2 of the guys on the list haven't played well this year), and the other is from so long ago it has Peanut Tillman (who has since retired) as one of the top cbs in the league.
  2. My friends have had a field day with this video as I look very much like this guy in the video, down to the McCoy jersey that I wear on game day. I go with the color rush jersey though!
  3. ahh I see. I was misreading. I've been watching the games with my uncle over the last few weeks and Gilmore is his favorite whipping boy. I've tried explaining that you can't let the expectation of perfect cloud what is very good cb play but we are both in agreement that he isn't deserving of the monster contract that I think he will be getting.
  4. Bandit I think you are attributing things here that aren't necessarily the point. See below and I'll add on. This is where I am. Gilmore is a very good cb and getting beat is part of the job. However just from my eye balls, he isn't warranting top 5 money. It could be a case of trying to protect himself, it could be a case of the contract weighing on him, it could be many things. I think the argument against re-signing him is that money may be spent better elsewhere. I wouldn't mind Gilmore at 10 million per but I don't think that even comes close to what he gets. I don't feel really good about giving him 14 million per with what I have seen so far this year and I think that is more in the neighborhood of what he gets.
  5. He was the guy I wanted in this draft. When watching Clemson it was impossible to avoid seeing him. He just made plays. Hopefully he can continue to do so in the red, white, and blue!
  6. I think you and I look for different things from our tv shows I usually am looking for something fairly mindless after a long day and I'm not afraid to admit it lol
  7. I agree that he should have benched Mario but his options were a no effort Mario or IK. It was kind of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.
  8. Just watched the first episode of Lethal Weapon last night. I was really surprised at how high budget it appeared. Also love anything Wayans so if you haven't yet checked it out...
  9. I am completely against trading away Mccoy but you saw how much they gave up for Sam Bradford right?
  10. First time owning him in a few years. Thought I stole him at pick 15. However if we have to pay the price in fantasy I won't mind lol
  11. That's a great team. Im with chilly, until he shows it I'm going cooks over thomas.
  12. A little info about him: Allen’s first game officiated at the NFL level was the Mark Trestman-led Bears hosting the Buffalo Bills (Trestman’s Bears lost in OT 23-20). This is a beautiful thing right here – No glaring areas showing Allen’s crew calling more penalties on offense or defense, not a ton of personal fouls to speak of, and overall just a fantastic dispersion of penalties. I’m not saying Allen is the poster boy for the NFLRA, but I can say that this crew is exactly what they want to see out of all of their crews. They set the bar, and they set it high. A young gun in his second year calling great games without any major controversial calls attached to his name should make guys like Walt Anderson and Pete Morelli either tighten up their game, or hang up the whistle.
  13. You can't/won't fault him for choosing to stay healthy instead of putting forth effort? If a player on the mets did that how would you feel? If the company you work for is having a poor quarter do you mail it in? first bolded: The highest paid player in team history gets discouraged because he can't play at his best so he lays down? What? second bolded: Bruce played de in a 3-4 which is not an ideal spot to put up the sack numbers he did. So 3-4 is not a scheme he could play his best in, shouldn't he have gotten discouraged? What does that even mean? You want to see a player beat the crap out of the Bills but the Bills win? I don't ever want to see any player play well against the Bills specifically one whose job is to hit the qb. I will say that I watched for it during the Washington game as there was already rumbling on the board. What I saw was terrible, pathetic, atrocious, whatever word you want to use for a disgusting lack of effort. I highly recommend you checking out that game and his performance then deciding on your opinion. Beat me to it but I agree specifically with the last part. I would have been okay with the dip in his production if I thought he was trying. 2.5 more and double the tackles. However 31 shouldn't be the end for a de. Especially one who relies on power and not speed. It all comes down to effort with Mario. I am one of the group that believes he will flash from time to time this year when he is motivated. Unfortunately I think that will be twice against us. hmmm remember the slide in the denver game? 4th down and he gave up. He got killed (rightfully so) for that.
  14. A better troll job than most attempts you had this off season... If we kept Marrone and Schwartz last year my money is still on a regression from Mario. He knew that he was getting cut due to salary at the end of the year. There was no way the Bills were keeping him at his price tag. Therefore he red shirted himself last year and made sure he didn't get hurt. What he didn't count on is what it did to his reputation. For being an amazing talent and coming off of a $100 million contract I don't think he thought he would only get 8 million on the open market. He even stated the first person to offer me 10 gets me. He did what Clowney did his Junior year in college except it didn't work out the same for him.
  15. I know there was no disrespect meant and know I'm a bit over sensitive to this topic especially with this news coming out this week. She was a great kid and naive like we all were at that age. Sometimes especially at that age kids don't realize how dangerous the world is and think us parents are just being overprotective.
  16. This is family to me. Please don't speculate especially wildly and baseless like this. She has been missing for a long time and we just found out this year that she was dead. Now having these details leaves the feeling of is it better to know or wonder. She was a great kid. Her mom is a great mom. I probably won't comment here again as this is obviously personal to me but just think before you post that some, especially sh*tty situations, involve some of us here on the board. Your point is spot on here save one. Dawn did tell her not to go and it was because she didn't want her to go. It wasn't veiled permission. Many of us make dumb choices as teens but most of us live to learn from them.
  17. You were right to decline imo. Hilton is the best player in that deal. I love Williams as I stated above but again he has a 3 game value. I also love Fitzgerald but he faded at the end of the year last year so unless I get great value I'm avoiding him. Although I think he is the best Arizona wr, with 3 quality players competing for targets some weeks he puts up a dud.
  18. I agree with all of this. However I think it is safe to assume that at least 1 of these 3 will bust and potentially all 3. Too much risk with these guys for me I prefer to go safe early in the draft.
  19. I'm that guy. First Williams will start for the first 3 games, secondly Bell is an injury risk so Williams potentially carries great value towards the end of the year too. The other good thing about start Williams for the first 3 games is it gives you a chance to find that early season surprise and grab him to play in that rb position. I go the opposite. Since rb is so hard to predict the last few years I fill my team early and then go rb heavy at the end of the draft. That doesn't mean I avoid rb altogether especially if the value is there but I take a ton of flyers on rbs so I like to have my other positions locked in with studs. RBs at the end that I like this year include Alfred Morris (if Elliot goes down hes next in line), Dion Lewis (will probably grab him on waivers around week 4), Derrick Henry, Kelly (the wash rb), Spencer Ware (Charles is iffy) as well as some others I don't want to disclose yet lol. I posted this elsewhere but it is not uncommon for me to carry 7-8 rbs. Everyone wants them and needs them which leads to some great trade opportunities.
  20. Julio, Anotonio Brown, or OBJ. Maybe Gurley if you are dead set on RB. Those are probably the top 4 options in my mind.
  21. GSP was dominant no doubt but holy cow were his fights mind numbingly boring. He just got a guy on the ground and laid there for 5 rounds.
  22. Ravens- W, Jets- W, Cardinals- L Patriots- W, Rams- W, 49ers- W, Dolphins- W, Patriots- L Seahawks- L, Bengals- L, Jaguars- W, Raiders- L, Steelers- L, Browns- W, Dolphins- W, Jets- W, huh 10-6 and I tried not to be too much of a homer
  23. I can't get on board with knowingly taking an l just because you want to rest some guys especially before the bye. That is absolutely crazy to me. The season is 16 games. The Bills have no chance at playoffs if they mail in 1 of them regardless of their record. Last year the Jets and Steelers both were 10-6 and the Jets stayed home.
  24. I think that is the hardest game on the schedule. Prime time in that stadium will be loud and they are a very talented team.
