  1. Seriously. Nightime in Nigeria don't bother with 4merper4mer. He is a troll that is allowed free reign here for some reason. Chef Jim is arguing semantics for god know what reason. Marijuana is an interesting conversation. Older generations bought hook, line, and sinker that it is terrible and good for nothing. I have a long standing belief that the demonizing of marijuana is a huge problem. Kids are told that weed, coke, crack, and heroin are all bad for you and then they experiment with weed. They find out it isn't so bad and wonder if the others are as bad as advertised. I also believe firmly in medicinal purposes as I have seen first hand the relief it allows some people.
  2. For those saying it wouldn't matter.... Would be a 1 score game with the Bills getting the ball back. Ridiculous sequence
  3. There is also no proof that he would have stayed. As a HC (I'm assuming in charge of the D by your definition) Schwartz had the Lions D ranked 32, 21, 23, 13, and 16. Schwartz is a very good DC but your pining for something that may or may not have been possible to do and then lamenting that the Bills should have done it. Also how would Schwartz have done last year with the injuries to Aaron Williams or Kyle Williams. I have posted many times about the difference in games missed between the 2 years. Finally, Schwartz didn't take over a terrible d in Philly and turn it around. Fletcher Cox and the rest of the d line are very good. Their lbs are very good. The only questionable part is the Secondary. The trouble with the Eagles D was Chips offense.
  4. I agree with that wholeheartedly. I also remember that 2014 defense but moreso the 2013 defense as giving up critical 3rd down after critical 3rd down. Where is Pettine now? I'm kind of surprised he wasn't part of the Rex bringing all of his guys back.
  5. Just a quick correction here. He has played in 122 games and indeed was the starter for 113 but he has been in the league since 05. So his teams have played 185 games in that time. For 63 games he earned that money holding a clipboard which ain't bad work if you can get it. Also through his first 3 years he played 6 games and as a 7th round pick made peanuts. Once he began starting and "taking lumps and big hits" he has earned the lion share of that money making your 4 million number a slight misrepresentation.
  6. Isn't it a false correlation though? Rex isn't the D- Coordinator he is the HC. Schwartz has a much different job and it is one that both he and Rex have excelled at. Is the argument that Schwartz should have been the HC? I'll put that to rest by bringing up his 29-51 record over 5 years and 1 winning season in that time. Rex has coached for 7 full seasons and had a losing record twice. It is up to each person to decide what they think of Rex as a HC but I don't see how anyone can say Schwartz is a better HC than Rex.
  7. I think the knowledge is likely lacking even more and goes something like Pearl Harbor, Nazis, D-Day, Nukes. That said I can remember asking in school about the Pacific Theater as it is where my Grandfather fought and a teacher telling me that wasn't the important part of the war! Bad teachers aside, Iwo Jima, Battle of Okinawa, Japanese POW camps etc... either get no mention or brief mention of hey those guys that planted the flag! indeed!
  8. What is the argument in this thread? Don't we all agree that he is a very good d coordinator? Don't we all agree that his track record as HC leaves quite a bit to be desired?
  9. Nope Titans. He is killing it right now with 3 catches for 59 yards on the season.
  10. It is indeed. I always thought that about the pacific theater in ww2 as well. When people discuss or the subject is taught it focuses on Nazi Germany but not really the atrocities happening on the other side of the world.
  11. You don't remember Jace Amaro after he got hired? "(Bowles) came in telling us that he expects to win," Amaro told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Monday, per Newsday. "He's not really playing around with everybody being late. We had an issue with that last year. I think guys just weren't accountable last year as much they could be. And I think that's the biggest thing." Amaro said Bowles is "making sure that everyone's going to be 100 percent in or you're not going to be on the team, so that's really going to filter out toward the guys."
  12. No lol. No way a personality as big as Rex goes to that game and doesn't either get put on camera or put on Twitter by a fan.
  13. I thought about how the Cle-Cubs series was great for baseball and thought about what would the equivalent be in the NFL. I think it would be Minnesota vs Buffalo. 2 0-4 in the SB teams. Teams that have gotten so close but couldn't finish it off and 1 would be guaranteed to lift that curse.
  14. You used to but I don't hear it that much anymore. I'm sure BB still does this but I wonder if it is still the norm. When you look at Tony Dungy, Andy Reid, and Joe Philbin who all had kids with issues and who have all stated they wished they were around more, I'm not mad that Rex took some time to go support his son. Either way there is more than 1 way to skin a cat. My favorite part about Rex is the fun that he seems to have with this game. He went to see his kid play football and I don't think anyone can question Rex's love of the game or dedication to it.
  15. Yeah that is strange to me. Kind of surprised the Bills didn't bring him back at a reduced salary. Mine: I thought this was Sammy's year to break out and the foot would be fine for the start of the season I have only picked the niners, rams, first Pats* and second Pats* game right. I had them beating the Ravens, Jets, and Dolphins and losing to the Cardinals. I thought Gilmore would show better in a contract year
  16. Linky no worky but I am imagining it was him at the Clemson game. You realize that they played on Thursday so had Saturday night off right? However I digress, if he didn't go they probably would have won week thr- oh.
  17. If he were smart he would have set his coffee maker to brew before he wakes up. 3 minutes he will never get back!
  18. All of these teams as well as the Pats* who are mentioned later in the thread had one thing in common. A firmly entrenched starter. In the Steelers, Packers, and Pats* instance they have HOFers. They also have a ton of money tied up in that qb so they are getting their backup on the cheap. Also doesn't it seem like the Bills have started to do this? They took Cardale who has all of the measurables you could want and seems to be a gamer but still needs work. If Taylor gets his option picked up this year I see another qb being drafted to assume the Cardale role while he gets elevated to backup (the EJ role). Every year is a bit much but I do like the idea of having a defined backup qb and a developmental qb on the roster at all times.
  19. Certainly an exercise is showing who will jump on the bash Rex before we have verified info train.
  20. Seriously. Did OP ever post a pic or is this just a chance to bash Rex? Google has zero results and I didn't see him shown on the broadcast. I would imagine if he was there Fox would have covered it.
  21. I agree but those moves have some distance to them. I see the long term planning and have to trust BB with his track record but this trade is just weird for a lack of a better word. Before this season Collins was on the list of must haves to re-sign. I won't argue that he is better than Hightower but he has been more durable. I'm surprised to see the Pats* banking on a player who has only played 12 games each of the last 2 years. The compensation seems low to me as well. Interesting move that we will have to wait and see how it turns out. Whenever I want to jump to a conclusion and be definitive I think back to the unanimous reaction to the Trent Richardson trade and how wrong everyone was. As a Bills fan though I hope it blows up in their faces!
  22. I agree that he did a very good job not slinging mud but I did find these 2 quotes interesting: Are you at all hurt that they seem to be insulting you on the way out the door? “No. That shows their character. I’m good. I’m happy.’’ “I don’t know what the situation is. I don’t know anything about Von Miller money. I don’t know nothing about none of that. That just shows what they like over there. But I know Von Miller money didn’t come out of my mouth. I’m not Von Miller. Let’s have some common sense.’’ Twice he hit with the "that just shows what they like over there." You have to imagine there is a breaking point somewhere of although they win, people don't want to be treated like meat. Does a move like this cause problems in the locker room and create a distrust? I know it is a different sport (same town) but the Celtics traded away Kendrick Perkins and the team was never the same after that. There was major issue in the locker room over the move. I know as long as they have Brady and Belicheck they will be competitive but I wonder how this makes the rest of the team feel.
  23. The Heatles started 9-8. It will take some time for sure but this team will be dangerous. There aren't many teams like the Spurs. On a side note... The Lakers have a better record than the Warriors!
  24. Let me preface this comment with an "I think the Bills are going to get destroyed this week" This is a great game to go to. There are zero expectations that the Bills will win this game. If they get beat hey we expected it. If they win though, the Cap will be electric and it will be one of those games that sticks with people.
  25. P1: WR P2: S, CB P3: OT, NT, TE P4: QB, OG, C P5: OLB, ILB, DE P6: HB I would like to see a TE grabbed early this year as I think there is a couple of good ones and it would help with the WR problem. Safety is a huge concern for me as is CB if Gilmore walks. Round 1: Best WR/TE/S available Round 2: Best of the 2 left over positions adding in OT/NT as a possibility Round 3: Any of P1-P3 on my list
