  1. Ultimately I think a trade for Garrett would be the best play but I also like Nolen so far. Dline has to be the play. The o line was improved last year this year has to be all about the defensive line and pressuring the qb.
  2. Cuban isnt running the mavs and hasnt for a few years. The new owners clearly didn't want to pony up for doncic. As a laker fan it's incredible. Trading a 32 year old oft banged up 2nd star for a certified superstar is an incredible get. I am wondering tho if Luka is either more banged up than we know or has hit that rumored 270 lbs.
  3. My immediate thought to the bolded stat was no way that is true. It is and that is kind of crazy!
  4. For sure but think about this time last year. The Commanders had a terrible reputation and a dearth of talent. Their owner hasn't done well in the NBA so I can see being nervous about how he would do in the NFL. Also if Johnson goes there, Kliff doesn't so who knows how Daniels performs this year. Add in the Quinn isn't a first time HC and I don't think it is as easy as saying he would be successful as well if he had taken the job. In hindsight he probably regrets somewhat not taking that job but I just feel that Saints job is a mess. Commanders were going to get their pick of Daniels or Maye, Bears have Williams, Saints have the shell of Derek Carr who I never really loved to begin with. Going into next year the saints have negative 50 million in cap space, 48 million in dead cap, 36 year old cam jordan making 20 mill, torn acl 35 year old taysom hill making 17 mill, 33 year old Honey Badger making 11 mill, and Carr making 50 mill! I agree that 1 of 32 is enticing. I just think this Saints job is so bad, nobody can be successful at it and Brady could do real damage to his reputation if he takes it. Look at what the Panthers OC job did to his reputation.
  5. I think Ben Johnson just showed that you can wait for a better spot. I think you only take that job if you aren't sure you will be offered again in the future. Since Brady would be staying with Allen in this scenario it is very likely he would be a hot candidate next year. So if I was Brady, no I wouldn't take it. What if the Bengals job comes open next year and he could have Burrow/Chase as opposed to Carr/Olave (who is contemplating retirement)
  6. Allegedly McCarthy to the Saints is his landing spot. I think Brady would be crazy to take that job. No QB, really bad salary cap, no extra picks.
  7. I was looking for a picture of Allen scoring the td against the chiefs this year at the end of the game if anyone has or knows where I can find one.
  8. I found the whole episode on YouTube but not sure how long it will be up for. It streams on max.
  9. Shawn hochuli who will ref the nfc championship game was the ref that game....
  10. Harbaugh has only been to and won 1 super bowl. Have no problems with his halftime or post game quotes. His team just lost a heart breaker he needs to be positive towards his guys there.
  11. btw it seems some people have missed but I actually started this thread last year after their AFCCG loss.
  12. I think the Bears have a nice talent as well as him having knowledge of the NFC North. Those things will help him imo.
  13. I love the thought of this. I'm picturing you like TO and that's my QB lol.
  14. So is Mike McCarthy how do you feel about him? McCarthy even won his against Tomlin and more recently than him. Can I add Doug Pederson to the list as well? I promise this thread is in jest but aims to point out the double standard that exists here between the opinion of McD and the other HCs. I think @GunnerBill and I have been in alignment on this for a few years now. The margin is so razor thin and only one team gets to win. @FireChans and I discussed the narratives that are created from playoff losses that may or may not be fair (mostly not fair). It is a single elimination tournament featuring the best teams and the best qbs. Just this playoff alone McD has gone against and beat 2 super bowl winning HCs. The 2 teams had 5 and 6 All Pros on their teams. The Chiefs have a multiple time SB HC winner and 4 more All Pros.
  15. You are doing exactly what I am pointing out right here. In that Lee Evans game, the Ravens missed a fg that would have tied the game. Harbaugh didn't take a time out so his kicker had to run out on the field and rush his kick because there was confusion about what down it was. All I'm saying is be consistent. If McD needs to go for his failures so does Harbaugh and Tomlin for that matter.
  16. To the bolded I think with so much luck involved you just have to make sure you have a good QB and a good coach. As long as you have those 2 things, you just keep taking cracks at it. There are some wild Super Bowl stats I pulled together a couple of years ago but the main one is this; there is only 1 active head coach with more than 1 super bowl win (Reid) and only McVay, Payton, Tomlin, Harbaugh, and McCarthy (if you count him) have any super bowl wins. So 5 or 6 active HCs have a super bowl win on their resume. It is a hard mountain to climb.
  17. Totally agree and it's an unfortunate side effect of the single elimination tournament. So much has to go right in each game to reach and win the super bowl. I'll admit I was full on "I don't want to face the Bengals" then the season ends and they fired Lou lol. Weirdly the Bengals get knocked less for missing the playoffs repeatedly than the Bills and Ravens do for losing in the playoffs. Different sport but similar to Jordan's 6-0 in the Finals vs LeBron having lost so many times.
  18. This is so crazy. Yes teams would love to have him as their HC. Do you really think Dan Campbell and his 2 playoff wins in 4 years as a HC are above reproach and they wouldn't gladly take McD? Why because he has fun sound bites? Zac Taylor and his 3 last place finishes in HIS OWN DIVISION and missing playoffs 4 of his 6 years are so much better than McD? Why because he made a super bowl once? Harbaugh and his 4-7 playoff record with a 3 time MVP? Why because he won a super bowl 12 years ago? Step outside of your fan bubble. McD is one of the most successful coaches in the league. Since Allen has become Allen he has lost to Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid who nobody would say he is better than. Then the loss to the Bengals after a player on the team literally died on the field. How am I on a Bills fan message board defending the HC as they prepare for the AFC championship game?!?!? After just beating a team filled with All Pros and a coach on your "this team wouldn't take McDermott" list?!?!
  19. The AFC is such a murderer's row of QBs. Between Allen, Jackson, Mahomes, and Burrow that is a lot of talent. It makes what the Chiefs have done so impressive. I really wish someone would poach Spags to be their HC lol. I actually would be fine if the same people that wanted McD fired also thought Harbaugh should be fired but he is consistently ranked higher than McD by many on this board and I don't understand why. If you use the same measuring stick, McD has had more success than him.
  20. I think this is something they have to continue against the chiefs. Belichick always hit Kelce at the line and it disrupted their timing. I'm glad it seemed to work so well and they continue the strategy.
  21. Wondering if anyone's thoughts have changed? I started this thread as a sort of tongue in cheek thread to the McD haters last year but here we are again. Soon to be 3 time MVP, roster that had 6 All Pros, losses to the Raiders and Browns this season that cost them home field, ending with a loss to McD and the Bills. He also has a 4-7 playoff record since winning the super bowl 12 seasons ago. Some stats I happened across (in the last 10 years): https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3536495/its-time-to-admit-john-harbaugh-is-not-a-good-postseason-coach --He's been one & done in the playoffs three times. --He's made it to one conference title game, despite 4 seasons in the Top 10 in points, 5 seasons in the Top 10 in yards, 8 seasons in the Top 10 in points allowed, and 7 in the Top 10 in yards allowed. --He's had the No. 1 seed in the AFC twice, and is 1-2 in those playoffs. Now I don't believe he should be fired as I think he is a very good coach but he routinely is ranked higher than McD by many on this site. Just wondering about those who think McD should go and how they feel about Harbaugh.
  22. I have to call this out. DeAndre Hopkins had 0 catches on 1 target against Houston. He has not topped 90 yards yet since being traded to KC. His average stat line is 3.73 catches per game for 39.73 yards. His longest catch is 35 yards. So he is averaging less than 4 catches for 40 yards per game and that is exceptional?! I do agree that I think something is going on with him and he hasn't been the game changer we all wanted the Hopkins statement is patently false.
  23. I hate how true both of these statements are. I didn't celebrate the missed 2 pointer. I dreaded the onside kick. Then they lined up to run a play and I was even more stressed. I celebrated hard when they got that first down though! To the thread I said immediately they left too much time on the clock for Josh. Don't forget Marlon Humphrey was injured and out of the game. That either opens the slot or forces Hamilton down into the slot and makes deep passing plays easier.
  24. 2 points: 1. The offense didn't get conservative, they were conservative all game long. What changed was the Ravens defense was effective stopping the run in the 2nd half. 1st td drive was 11 plays 9 of which were runs, 2nd td drive was 4 plays 3 of which were runs, 3rd td drive was 9 plays 7 of which were runs. So 3 td drives, 24 plays 19 runs. They didn't have to unleash Josh, narrative buster but the Bills won a huge game without Josh having to be super man. The game script allowed the Bills to control the clock and keep the defense rested. 2. To say the defense collapsed is also kind of silly. They let up 10 points in the first half and 15 in the 2nd. The Ravens before this game were talked about as an unstoppable juggernaut. Henry and Lamar were an unstoppable rushing combination and yet Henry had 84 yards rushing while Lamar added 39. To take it even further 25 points is the lowest the Ravens have scored in the last 6 weeks since they scored 19 against the Eagles. In fact the 25 points they scored was their 5th lowest output of the season and 2 of those games were week 1 and 2. So long story short in the last 16 games this was their 3rd lowest output. Yes it took 3 turnovers but that is football.
  25. Did you really call him a clown? Lol I had a multiple paragraph response typed and just decided it's not worth it. Have a great day. Go Bills.
