  1. As I said all along.. Beane loves to let other teams do the work for him. Beane absolutely knows what Bates market value is now..
  2. Oh, thank god, our long national nightmare is finally over.
  3. The scuttlebutt in Miami is that taking that job meant turning around Tua. There's a reason they took so long to hire someone and ended up with a 1 year coordinator lottery ticket as their HC. Now I believe strongly in Tua's ability to make Bridgewater the starter, but it's not an open competition
  4. If Rosenhaus told me the sun was gonna come up tomorrow, I would not bet my bottom dollar.
  5. Evolve or die. Too much of the time the offense struggled and it seemed like Daboll would just go to "Give it to Allen on a run". It felt like last season he really depended on that a bit too much. I mean, I get it, you have an Allen, you use him, but maybe help him out.. the schemes just didn't seem to be there this year that were there last season that let them ignore even pretending to have something besides Allen in the running game.
  6. This players/teams/league have accountants and those accountants write any personal/corporate donation off.. If you're talking about eliciting donations.. well that money is coming from the community so they're not really putting it into the community. Players/Teams/League don't start these up randomly out of the goodness of their hearts. Not sure how you got confused. The fans aren't asking for a new stadium. I suspect if the stadium wasn't going to cost a dime of taxpayer money that most fans would still vote to to keep the current one. The NFL wants the new stadium and has basically told the Pegulas to make it happen. So WE don't owe the NFL a new stadium would be more accurate.
  7. The most frequent complaint seems to be that it 'has more give' or 'moves more' than other fields. Why they don't change it.. who knows? Might be because keeping up with a grass field with two teams playing their home games during the season would be rough. The NFL investigated the field and said it meets all standards. The NFLPA says that the tests only test hardness/softness and don't consider other factors like how it shifts when you plant your foot. It can be quite jarring if you plant and the ground doesn't respond like you expect it too.. Metlife perennially is among highest for injuries occurring in a stadium, but is not in the top 5 of 'injuries per game'. However, both Jets and Giants players have complained along with several other teams. It is certainly the 'vocal' leader in the effort to replace turf fields from the players.
  8. 7 pages.. Can we hit Von Miller numbers on Taiwan Jones?!
  9. This is going to make a lot of people stupidly angry.
  10. Ding Ding. Ding. Go look at the Jets and Dolphins forums. Watson shouldn't be allowed in the league and should be in jail. Everyone should quit being fans of the browns.. ..then Tyreek "beats children" Hill is a possibility and "It wasn't that bad." and "He's serving probation so he's paid the price already". Well, the Jets until he chose the Dolphins then it was "I'm glad. He's not that good and I didn't want to have to cheer for him."
  11. Their playbook is geared towards a strong running game and keeping the ball out of Mayfield's hands is his strength.
  12. The Jets turned over their training staff under Douglas, but the results have been similar in terms of man-games lost. There may be something to the grumbling of several Jets/Giants players that the field at MetLife sucks and increases the risk of injuries.
  13. Dolphins fans think they're a superbowl contender and have pulled ahead of the Bills now.. same as every year before the season starts..
  14. If you use the point value chart for the draft, the Jets deal was actually worth more. It's said they offered basically the same contract Miami did as well.
  15. This offseason seems to be going well for the Bills. I like how much KC fans are freaking the hell out.
  16. I started watching the Jets a couple years ago. I mean I watch a few games of all the AFC East teams, but I watched every Jets game for the last two years. Crowder was the heart of a terrible Jets team and their best player. He was just about the only player who was consistently open and reliable for Darnold. He brought it every single week on a team that had given up after week 1 and didn't like their HC who was a lame duck. The Jets, a 1st class organization, responded by asking to cut his salary despite having plenty of unused cap space. Then he got hurt and rewarded by pretending he didn't exist in favor of trying to make their free agents Davis and Cole do something. It will give me great pleasure to watch them torched by the class act they discarded because they wanted their new toys, that were crap quality, to shine. They've doubled down on it this year with Davis. They'll draft a WR at 4 or 10 and count on him with 2nd year Moore who was invisible for half the season and it will be glorious to watch them burn another, already challenged QB who likely needed to sit a year, with little support.
  17. Given the way Beane has been going this offseason, I assume we're trading for Jaire Alexander.
  18. I'm not sure a football player is going to want to be known as "Mr. 13 Seconds"
  19. Bates: ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Bates Agent: Don't you think we should ask for *more* than a million dollars? A million dollars isn't exactly a lot of money these days.
  20. Give me a 1st or 2nd round rookie to go with Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Stevenson, Hodgins, etc and I'm good.
