  1. The price would likely include a legitimate starter in addition to the #1 pick as another number one or package of picks that would make the Ricky Williams thing look sane.
  2. 3rd and 1: Wildcat had a 60% success rate. Smith was only stopped one time. 3rd and 2: Wildcat was 100% successful. You are welcome to keep denying the numbers all you want. It doesn't change them. I'd like to meet the NFL coach who if you told him, you had a 3rd down back that was just under %100 on 3rd and 2 or less, that he'd think 4 million a year is a dealbreaker. Why is this a concern? He's producing on 3rd down when he is called on. If you cut every player that didn't live up to their contract, there would be very few players. Mario Williams is unlikely to ever live up to his contract, should we cut him? Who's this receiver that was unavailable to the Bills due to money?
  3. 90% of the people bitching couldn't tell you what conference troup was in off the top of their heads.
  4. Yes, if Fitz and VY goes down, we'll be thanking the gods for Tyler Thigpen....riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Since the people who wanted to cut him have no idea, I'll supply the numbers: 3rd and 1: Wildcat had a 60% success rate. Smith was only stopped one time. 3rd and 2: Wildcat was 100% successful. That's disregarding his ability as a returner. I honestly have no idea why people want to cut 80% of the depth on this team. Especially guys who who are money on 3rd down.
  5. all of you who want to cut him, can you tell me his 3rd down success percentage out of the wildcat last season? If you can't, you should probably consider whether your opinion is based on how you 'feel' (something you should discuss with a therapist) or hard evidence.
  6. Preseason Win % | Regular Season Win % 1.000 | 0.495 0.750+ | 0.508 0.500+ | 0.535 0.400+ | 0.533 0.250+ | 0.442 0.000+ | 0.450 0.000 | 0.473 Brian Costello of the NYT: "Marvin Lewis called Rex Ryan before the game to hash over some details, one of which was to request that he not run the Wildcat against him. Ryan obliged his former defensive coordinator from their time in Baltimore," Marvin lewis takes it seriously. For sure. ------ Ed Kilgore: "As for the preseason, coaches and players will tell you the games mean something because, well, they DO keep score after all. But that just isn't all that true. We all know that Marv Levy could have cared less about the pre season during the Bills Super Bowl runs, but once the regular season kicked off, his teams were ready to play." ------ That's three well respected coaches and numbers telling you that they don't take starters playingin preseason game seriously. Coaches’ primary goals are to have a virtually injury-free, established 53-man roster, discover a few guys, and gain experience and reps. Essentially, for coaches, preseason is the main opportunity to focus on the players by developing talent and teaching the game.
  7. I would rather have had Andrew Luck. Another Buddy asleep at the wheel moment missing out on trading for him.
  8. That is strange because all coaches and players (not fighting for a roster spot) disagree with you beyond lipservice quotes. Ask Tom Brady how important it is...an offense based around timing and passing...he has 7 pass attempt for 30 yards int he preseason. How many coaches and players would gladly do away with preseason?
  9. What's changed in the past couple months to suddenly make the Jags desire Tebow?
  10. Well, I assume they will sign a lot considering people on this board want them to cut half the team out of spite.
  11. Do you not understand the Bills have open roster spots as we speak without cutting him?
  12. pffft, we all know Wilson is going to start. You don't sit the greatest QB of all time. He hasn't even thrown an NFL pass and is already the greatest. You'd be dumb to sit him.
  13. The most important thing about preseason is getting out of it without injuries.
  14. Most people are bored by it. It's predictable. A guy who doesn't really like sports, admittedly doesn't know about sports, talking out his arse about sports...sometimes. He knows sensationalism. Meanwhile, there's guys like Coach Sal that should be on as many hours as he can stay awake.
  15. And you've skipped over the fact that cutting him next week over today serves absolutely zero purpose. You've also ignored that him being on IR does absolutely nothing to the 'healthy' bodies. It's idiotic that you want to cut him for no benefit to make yourself feel better because he hasn't worked out.
  16. are we talking abut Vick in his one good year, his ok year, or the all the rest?
  17. Yet you can't name one advantage to cutting him today versus next week or placing him on IR.
  18. Do you realize the absurdity of this statement? So far? TWO PRESEASON GAMES is so far. The Bills have had and still have a lot of needs. How many JP Losmans and Trent Edwards do you want? You're predicating the idea that Russell Wilson is going to be good. Do you understand that he has not thrown a single pass in an NFL game yet? Not one. This comes close to having a sane, rational point. I disagree that backup QB was as pressing a need as other areas. QBs are a crapshoot. You're saying we should have rolled the dice this year instead of next which is fine and valid, but I'd rather build depth so if we need to start a rookie then he's not on an island. I'd much rather bring a rookie when we have a good-great defense tp help take the pressure off.
