  1. This isn't a question. He's the Bills head coach. I'm not sure how to make this more clear to you until they have the press conference.
  2. Can this be automatically made the top post of every thread create don TBD?
  3. List the examples in the NFL of a the organization reporting a deal being agreed to in principle and the candidate going another way versus the times the candidate joined. I guess you have no idea.
  4. I don't think we have any idea of the relationship there beyond Payton called the plays.
  5. I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility, but the team passed on him as coach. It could be hard to swallow and take the DC position. Could he work with Marrone? There's a lot of questions that I think make it...difficult to get him here as DC.
  6. An exception proves the rule? It's not impossible, but it's quite rare in the NFL. I removed the other part of your post because it didn't seem relevant to the NFL. Not sure how many wall street brokers are coaching in College or the NFL.
  7. I wanted Lovie as well, but two points that make me think about this hire are an article from Don Banks about Andy Reid: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/news/20130104/andy-reid/index.html History isn't on Lovie's side either. I still wanted him, but it's an interesting point. The other point made was that a lot of 'hot' college coaches come from big time programs that get better players than their competition. Kelly, for example, get big time players and Oregon was no slouch before he got there. Marrone took crap and had some success.
  8. That story was very early this morning and since then Russ has confirmed that they have a deal in principle. Time stamped from this morning in the article itself.
  9. Just let him run with it. No need to rain on his parade. He'll eventually run into a wall and knock himself out.
  10. The staff was relieved of duties. They are free to pursue other jobs, but are still under contract with the Bills.
  11. So he's not out fielding other offers. He's agreed to a deal in 'principle' with the Bills. It's almost never heard of that a guy renegs at that point. Russ Brandon did correct it. So you're totally wrong on your post. Perhaps you should pay more attention.
  12. Out of touch. They have a deal in 'principle' which means the lawyers are checking the language and then it will be signed.
  13. How in the hell do people believe this was a marketing hire? The 'marketing' hire would have been chip kelly. Bills fans, every decisions you don't agree with is not a marketing move.
  14. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8818276/cleveland-browns-reboot-search-chip-kelly-oregon-ducks-sources
  15. I'm no sure why anyone wants to laugh at them about it either. They're trying to turn their team around.
  16. I anted Lovie too, but this article makes some good points: http://sportsillustr...d/?sct=uk_wr_a1 Retreads tend not to replicate their success. When you say right mind, do you mean just half of it?
  17. i think you're selling him short. It could be both.
  18. It would be instant change from 'This guy sucks' to 'Cleveland will win a superbowl'
  19. Exactly. A HC needs to be able to delegate and find guys that can get the job done. We'll find out what what happens with that soon enough.
  20. If suspension is lifted, I'd take Greggo as DC.
  21. An interesting note about coaching retreads: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/news/20130104/andy-reid/?sct=uk_wr_a1 Maybe this is an 'analytics' hire. The prevailing criticism was that the Bills waited too long when they hired Gailey and the 'good' coaches were gone. It's stupid to be believe definitely can't win or definitely will win.
  22. It depends of who he brings in...especially for the defense.
  23. Dalton has always struck me as Cinderella at the ball and you're just waiting for midnight.
