They had the same plan with EJ to have him sit, but Kolb's accident blew that plan to hell.

You're not going to get him "cheap" if you sign him now. Let him play out the season and if he performs, you won't be paying much more than you would anyway.

I would have given those teams 0-62-1 for like 2 million dollars. They would have had much better draft position to get a real QB too.

How many down years has Rex had for defense? Please use numbers. I don't like the guy and think he's a terrible head coach, but you continually trying to hammer this doesn't do anything to further the discussion on the real problems that Rex has and hinders the ability of the rest of us to discuss his flaws because we have to spend our time dealing with embittered, upset people yelling at clouds.

^This. I think you are seeing players be replaced at a faster rate because of the Salary cap and younger, cheaper options. Not to mention, these guys now are science experiments...tuned and machined through diet, exercise, drugs, etc to be perfectly physically adapted for their positions. I think it's tougher for Veteran to provide enough of a gap in play to justify the increased cost.

Problem is....Levitre wasn't pretty either. Keeping him even at a reasonable amount may not have given you production he had previously.

So take out everyone who isn't a QB and you have Steve Young who played in a different era. Players now are groomed to play their positions through drugs and specialized training. I don't understand why you put in all these superfluous players who don't play QB and ignore...Russel Wilson..or like Drew Brees.
