In the 13 years since the Jets last made the playoffs.. Joe Douglas has the worst record as GM. Worse than both John Idzik and Mike McCagnan. The reason they threw such a ridiculous hail mary with Rodgers is because they failed so hard.

Oh, look a bunch of people I wouldn't trust with a grocery budget trying to solve taxation.
-
You think that matters to these people?

The jets are up against the cap and the Dolphins have two expensive WRs already.

Boomer Esiason speculating Devonte Adams will be traded.
Malazan replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope he does because he has a large cap hit that they can't afford. -
He doesn't even have to "afford" it. The NFL has a program that provides private drivers for players that they can call anytime. In addition, teams often have their own similar programs. It can be used as much as a player wants at no cost to them. It will even take them back to get their vehicle or they can make arrangements to have their vehicle driven home for them.

Next question to Patty should be, "Have you asked your dad to stop driving and set him with a car service?"

...and you think what I wrote was dramatic? I guess I bit on the trap and gave you the attention you were seeking.

A thread giving a guy no one knows exists attention for saying something inflammatory.. well, @Alphadawg7 you gave him exactly what he wanted.

The Bills have over $10 million in cap space- what is Beane’s plan?
Malazan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
In a strange coincidence, that's the Sabres plan to get fans back in the seats. -
The numbers for QBs over 40 are bad in almost every regard. Outside of Brady.. there's a couple mediocre seasons, but the rest are not something you'd be excited about. I think Tyrod Taylor and his mundane, don't turn the ball over, play is more exciting for the jets imo.

Two QBs have made it through a 16 game season at or over the age of 40 in the history of the NFL. Brett Favre did it one time and Tom Brady managed it as well. The numbers for QBs over 40 are bad in almost every regard. You can probably guess what the numbers are for QBs over 40 coming off a major injury are..

These lists aren't written for accuracy. They're written to get attention. A list most people agree on doesn't get much.

A-a-ron has a lot of nice trips.

They're getting a lot of hype. I think it's somewhat muted because it's sort of predicated on Rodgers and the history for QBs 40 and over lasting a whole season is really, really bad. I believe only 2 QBs have played a full season at the age of 40 and over (Favre and Brady). QBS over 40 have also suffered depleted stats compared to previously in their careers. Losing Rodgers again after all his drama would be a rough mental blow even if Tyrod Taylor is probably a perfect backup for that team.

The jets have not made the playoffs in 13 years and have had some really bad coaches and GMs since tannebaum/ryan. Douglas/Saleh have the distinct honor of being worse than all of them.

The Bills statement from August 25th: We were recently made aware of a civil complaint involving Matt from October 2021. Due to the serious nature of the complaint, we conducted a thorough examination of this matter. As this is an ongoing civil case legal, we will have no other comment at this point. There's a lot of draft prospects. I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that they do a lot more digging on a potential franchise QB being drafted in the top 10 then they do on a late round punter.
-
They cut him because he didn't tell them. If he had told them (and they still drafted him or he told them after he was drafted), they would have put out a statement as early as possible and likely tried to get him on the exempt list or something. Instead, he opted to not to tell them that there was an open criminal investigation for whatever reason. The Bills were supposed to bring a rookie punter back who let them be blindsided on the cusp of a season where they were one of the top superbowl contenders? This was no innocent "oopsie" I forgot. He chose not to tell the Bills.

Yes, bad things happen. How one responds to those things whether they are right or fair says a lot about who they are.. Araiza chose how he handled it. Blaming the Bills because they let him go after that is silly. It's also pretty rare that the most "talented" team wins. There's a lot that goes into building a team and having a rookie punter who chose himself over a team that was considered one of the Superbowl favorites seems like a bad way to go about winning. There were many good ways he could have handled it with the Bills before and after being drafted. He chose none of those.

I would absolutely tell them because I am not a piece of scum. I have personal responsibility. I know what the expectations are of me and would fulfill those. That's something important to me. Clearly not important to some players and their agents though. I also have a working brain and know it would get out and the team isn't going to appreciate being blindsided by it. He could also have told them after he was drafted. Or at any point prior to the lawsuit being filed which left the timing totally in the hands of the plaintiff's attorney.

The teams ask players if they have legal issues, backgrounds, choices, lifetsyles, etc. They run checks for misdemeanors and felonies. There is no way that Araiza and his agent were unaware they should mention an active, open criminal investigation. Not to mention, it's stupid. The team that drafted him would have had their PR team put out a statement... at the very least just not been blindsided by it. Personally, too many people these days take no responsibility for themselves and a player who would take the stance that because the Bills could have possibly found out that it wasn't his responsibility to tell them is absolute scum. I wouldn't want them around my team or myself.
