There is no blueprint. What worked for Allen and the Bills is "impossible" (sooo many variables) to reproduce and is not guaranteed to work for someone else. There's a reason there's so much voodoo around why one talented (and driven) player succeeds where another fails. His personal QB coach is Will Hewlett and he also contracted Denny Thompson to prepare for the draft.

I don't see the advantage for the Bills. I actually think highly of him and thought last season was unfortunate. Davis is well aware he had a down year and so is his agent. He's not going to give a massive discount and is going to bank on having a year that convinces someone to pay him. So the Bills would end up giving him a 'market' contract with a ton of risk on their end. I'd rather let him play in a contract year and get the highest possible performance from him and let the chips fall where they may next offseason.

There's also been reports that he's unpopular wherever he goes. Why bring that in here for a backup QB who isn't that much better?
