  1. You have no idea what was said. There's no reason to start making stuff up to bash the team. If you can't find something from reality to do so then you're not trying very hard. The Patriots were one of the most banged up teams last season. Maybe they should fire their doctors too...
  2. I wonder if the threads about today's practice contain something about this?
  3. Sonic Screwdrivers are futile. You will be assimilated.
  4. Nothing in your link seems to imply this is the same issue or any manner in which the problem with the paint could have been prevented. Not to mention, the article itself backs up the point that the NFL took appropriate action: One player, the kicker, was injured. That means out of roughly 180 players that 1 was injured "due to the field". The NFL has a NFLPA/NFL team that investigates fields for playability. That committee certified the field that replaced the previous one that was reported to have caused the injury. Up until the point that paint was applied and caused a problem by a 3rd party contractor, there were no reported problems with the current field by either the NFL or NFLPA. I still haven't seen the point the NFL screwed up....just a lot of "They should have done SOMETHING" which the NFL did. Sounds a lot like "Won't someone think of the children?!" If I hire someone to paint my house who a history of successfully painting houses and he botches the job, that's not my fault. I hired an appropriate expert to paint my house. If information comes out that the HOF went and picked up some untrained meth heads off the street to replace the existing crew and the NFL didn't have it stipulated in their agreements that they had to use the professionals then, yeah, the NFL screwed up. I have seen nothing that indicates that is the case.
  5. like Geno Smith..sometimes the lack of availability is the best asset
  6. I think it's fair of the NFL to assume that painting the field is going to be a mundane task unlikely to make the surface unplayable. They don't paint the field days ahead of time and it's not NFL personnel in control of the field. Is it a mistake for the NFL to rely on city/team/stadium personnel to perform their tasks of getting a field ready and not contracting their own employees...perhaps, but that's a rather large change to the way it's been done for a long time and has been successful for the vast majority of it. Overreacting by making such sweeping changes would be irresponsible of the NFL despite the black eye. It's not a failure if your failsafe was triggered. It's a failsafe to prevent the failure from occurring. They had an appropriate process to prevent players from playing the game which could have impacted their health.
  7. You kool aid drinkers are really annoying. Ya'll need to face reality. He wouldn't even make it to Buffalo before being injured.
  8. What he did last year doesn't matter if he can't cover this year.
  9. All numbers that aren't as simple as the score are weird to a select few on this board.
  10. RGIII is the only choice they have. They're tanking whether they want to or not. Nothing they could do about it outside of apparently paying Brock Osweiler ridiculous money to be somewhat better than RGIII.
  11. I think he will adjust the operating frequency of the shield to match the beams used against them and screen against that frequency.
  12. If they sign him prior to the season or during the season, it still won't be Fitz like because he's played well for more than 5 games and hadn't started falling off when signed to said contract.
  13. If Peyton Manning goes all benjamin button and returns to his prime and joins the browns they could fun to watch too.
  14. You're certainly welcome to disagree, but I don't give credit for "charity" that gets written off. He's not the one "giving" that charity when he's using it to not pay taxes.
  15. If air keeps defending receivers like that then he's certain to not be on the final roster.
  16. The NFL's protocol didn't fail, it suceeded. The responsible party was not able to present a usable field at game time. The NFL's protocol prevented the game from being played as a usable surface wasn't present. Some of you with the everything ever is Goodell's fault really need to take a step back.
  17. I'm not a fan of the player's mom saying they should have pulled an Eli because that's overall harmful to players and the league in the interest of 1 rookie who may or may not do anything, but I don't get why this is the hill the Chargers have chosen to die on. These contracts have been well tread since the rookie cap. There's no reason to have a major impasse with any rookie. It's utterly ridiculous for the chargers to be fighting this fight. As for Spanos, his charity efforts don't necessarily mean anything without knowing how much of it he writes off...or how much it is compared to others who have a similar amount of wealth. If I donate 10% of my worth and he donates 10% of his worth...well, news stories will get written about Spanos.
  18. What people write in their book tends to be the...uhh...best version of themselves.
  19. I'm no expert, but "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" is an English-language pangram—a phrase that contains all of the letters of the alphabet.
  20. He has a contract. The Bills would literally pay (cap space) to cut him and then have to pay a backup as well.
