This is an oversimplification. I understand the concerns of a slippery slope, but the situation is not that the NFL *won't* provide a safe working environment. It's that they probably "can't". The players aren't upset about the health related issues...they're concerned about money. This 'unsafe' workplace is a play to get paid while not playing while they try to negotiate players getting paid for not playing. How many other companies have to be shut down? A bar that's closed because of covid should be forced to pay it's employees when it can't open?

If the players are so concerned, they have an easy solution. "We're not going to play." However, they want to be paid AND not play which is why there is all this..back and forth. They won't come out and say that either so you get all this "worry" about playing which is really just them trying to position themselves to make some insane argument that they should be paid to not play. Simple, they can go ahead and file for unemployment if they qualify like everyone else in the country. Problem solved. Fire DeMaurice "idiot" Smith and hire me.

"These players need to stop complaining about things and just play football! I don't want to hear about anything else! Football is an escape from all the drama!" ..Football thread is now about the drama in Rodgers love life..

Washington Redskins: 15 women claim sexual harassment

Yes, the rumors..about Gruden and other team personnel committing sexual harassment, benching players for sleeping with their sidepiece, etc, etc..do you genuinely not know (despite it being documented and google existing) or are you trying to do the whole "..but we don't KNOW anything" thing despite that we know they used used cheerleaders as escorts (~NY Times)? Hope this helps. -

If this is true and given the actions of the Washington franchise, there's some indicators that they believe it to be true.. I think it's an uphill battle for Snyder to keep the team. The NFL will announce an investigation that will take many months where they'll give it a chance to blow over and see if Snyder keeping the team is an option. I suspect it won't be though. For those wondering why Goodell makes the big bucks...look at this thread. People are already looking to dump this on him. He does an incredible job taking the attention away from the owners and they reward him for it. Last, but not least...the Jaguars...they seemed to have some signs on life on offense with Minshew and it looks like they're gonna have to fire Gruden and go through this scandal with Washington. -
Who are these running backs that have 700 some yards and aren't a "full time" back that are getting paid more than him? You've got like Duke Johnson? He, as a running back, had like 250 more yards than Josh Allen did as a QB.

Thanks for proving my point in finding the exception to prove the rule.

The guy has 2 years left on his deal...has been in the league for 5 years and has had 1 good year at a position that doesn't get paid (because you can replace even the very best at it with a rookie and get good production). I'm not sure what his expectations are...

Bills hire Jason Sinnarajah to Sr. Leadership team

Well, Ziff Davis was really good at screwing contract workers out of money so his familiarity with screwing people should make him a good followup to Russ -
We have always been at war with East Glazer...until now...because he said something we like.

DeSean Jackson posts anti-Semitic messages, quotes Hitler

I'm all for getting after anti-Semites for their bigotry. Please stop referring to being Jewish as being a different race though. Holding a belief does not make them a different race. -
oh, good. I was honestly in sheer panic for the last 2 years, but now that Jay Glazer likes him I can finally return to my normal life again

The Athletic: Expert NFL stadium rankings

to be fair, most dystopian novels have some form of grand entertainment to take away from the dirty, ugly stuff going right in front of people's eyes. Fahrenheit 451 had giant wall sized TVs, 1981 had the two minutes of hate, the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40k has the litany of hate, Bring it On has cheerleading. Just like these exampls of dystopian society, I'd say Cleveland's stadium having some features like a larger scoreboard that new era lacks is understandable. -

The hell you say! You don't win trophies for being good! You win them for having the most cap space. I'm pretty sure I've got that right. -

Which coaches would Cowherd start a franchise with...
Malazan replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're making an assumption that there is a view people in the NFL hold that there is something to turn around. He's more well thought of by league personnel than he is by those of us on this board despite his offense ranking rather low the last couple years. I'd be willing to bet that the view is it was a natural progression of his offense to reach the top 10 as he got better players in place. I'd say it's a lock if he gets a top ten offense that he will be a head coach next season. -

I think if Daboll manages a top 10 offense this year then he will be be a HC next year. Offensive coaches are the hot ticket right now and teams are desperate for a guy who can groom a young QB which..if Josh leads a top 10 offense..the perception will be Daboll did that. In that case, Frazier with a top 3 defense and Daboll a top 10 offense...Daboll would be the hotter coaching candidate (not that I agree he should be). -
I actually think the Bills win both of those games this year now
