  1. Howard followed Diggs around so he wasn't on any one side. Haden was on the right side, but Joe B questions whether they'd be so concerned about Haden at this point of his career that they would avoid him. Joe B seems to think this more the Bills trying to attack a weakness from last season. Allen's numbers throwing to the right side of the field in 2020 were much better than throwing left. Teams would naturally pick up on this and could adjust their defenses so it may have been Daboll/Allen/etc did work to try to attack this.
  2. The short version is he's throwing to the left to a crazy extreme (only 1 intermediate pass to the right side) and throwing to the left last season was one of his weakest areas to throw to last season. This is the heatmap that Joe posted: He had some other graphics showing that the 2021 heatmap lines up with one of the Allen's weakest areas from last season. He goes on to mention that in the 2nd half where they did move the ball better, they started running more plays like those they did last year. He posited a theory that they were trying to attack an area of weakness from last year and are now moving away from it. As an aside, the Athletics coverage is great especially for the Bills / Sabres. I recommend them to anyone willing to spend about $30 a year on it.
  3. Beane has done this since he became GM. He continually works out players they might sign in the case of an injury so they're familiar with them. Yet.. every time, we have this "Where's the Pegula Jet?!" freak out.
  4. *checks notes* 2-0 From a team that everyone believes is a bottom of the barrel roster.. Not a bad job so far..
  5. I disagree with your assertion that Lamar is a simple minded idiot.
  6. Seemed like a stupid bit of showmanship there. They were going for it before he asked him.
  7. Not exactly what you're going for, but yes, people prefer offense. It's not a coincidence the league is enforcing and creating rules that promote offense.
  8. to be fair, they've played two pedestrian offenses. Baltimore's defense is ranked last, for example, but they've played potent offenses. There's some good signs, but folks shouldn't be getting carried away.
  9. Every year with Carr and the Raiders and they always fade.. Maybe this is the year though.
  10. Regardless of how you feel about Edmunds play picking up his option was the exact right move if they didn't want to give him an extension when they had other priorities.
  11. I don't know why the networks struggle so much with this.. Step 1: Find all the Mannings you can get your hands on Step 2: Put them in the booth
  12. They are still in the "don't want to believe it so we'll go to ridiculous lengths to defend him" phase Dolphins. Jets were going to be bad. The Dolphins had legitimate playoff expectations and their fans really thought they could win the division.
  13. It's smart. Play good defense and let your QB grow into the game. Meanwhile, the Jets... Hey Rookie go SLING IT behind a bad offensive line that can't play the blocking scheme we're using!
  14. It's getting to the point of "Why not try crazy stuff?" because it's so bad right now.
  15. Mac Jones and Jacoby Brisset battling it out for best QB in the AFC East was not something I envisioned.
  16. Maybe Daboll wasn't the genius he was given credit for being and spent a whole offseason being ballwashed...
  17. I think people have been unfair to Edmunds, but he "makes a play" so rarely that his 'discipline' in the passing game doesn't really make up for it.
  18. It's almost like teams had a year's worth of tape to look at the Bills passing concepts and perhaps Daboll saying they weren't going to worry about improving the run game may have been shortsighted.
  19. Last off-season, all you heard was Allen working with receivers to get better... this offseason... all we heard was non-football stuff...
  20. I'll go one better and present to you the amount of discussion of "Should the Packers bench Rodgers for Love" talk The Dolphins had a "sun study" commissioned in September at 1 PM then used that study to custom design the modifications of their stadium to make the visitor's sideline be in the sun as much as possible.
  21. Players currently playing in the NFL from Douglas's 2020 draft = 1 Players currently playing in the NFL from the Idzik 12 (considered the worst draft in Jets history by their fans) = 1
