Gailey said Fitz is good enough to get to the CHAMPIONSHIP game. If thats not a ringing endorsement of how he feels about the teams priorities , then I dont know what is. Getting to the championship game is what its all about. Besides , all this talk and clamoring by some, for Cam Newton is ridiculous. IMO , it would be more wise to address the defense this year , see how well or how bad Fitz is next year , and then address the QB position if needed. The 2012 Draft offers much more promise and just as much upside as this year does , with less risk. Selecting a player #3 with so much in question surrounding him is NOT where I would want to pin the future of my franchise on.

I don't know why I don't hear more of this in the media. You take away Tom Brady and the Pats are a .500 team. Yea , okay , they had Cassel who led them to a playoff berth , right? Yea , he also went on to start on the Chiefs and put together a Pro Bowl worthy season. Belichek has had a horseshoe up his ass since he joined the Pats as far as quarterbacks go , that and a little cheating. As far as Chan and Co. go , I totally trust them to make the best decision regarding the 3rd overall pick , simply because I have no reason not to, yet. If they feel Cam Newton or Blaine Gabbert have potential to be a true franchise QB , then I support it 100% (not like it matters). Personally , I'd love to see us draft Marcell Dareus and let Fitz show what he can do entering the season as a true #1 QB. If he pans out , then great. If not , we have options in the 2012 draft , which will prospectively feature a much richer QB class.

I would throw big money at Mankins , and we might just land him considering the perceived ill-will he has for the Pats FO. If we added Mankins , that would give us , Bell-Levitre-Wood-Mankins...could Hang play RT? If so , thats a hell of an O-line. Imagine CJ and Freddy running behind that line , not to mention the protection Fitz would get. Im of the thinking that addressing our defense should be our #1 priority , but the chance to land a perennial probowl guard in Mankins would be awesome.

You can't compare Jeff Fisher teams to Bill Cowher teams. Its not even close. The Steelers under Cowher missed the playoffs 5 times out of 15 years...not too bad , on the other hand , Jeff Fisher's Titans only made the playoffs 6 times out of 17 years. See the difference?

I don't understand how anyone can make a "fair assessment" of Fitzpatrick after ONE season under a new regime and system. That said , I wouldn't be shocked or pissed off if we took Locker with our 2nd rounder.

I don't think you can get the "Trooth" from Buddy @ this time of the year. No GM or coach is gonna come out and say " we really like this" and we don't like that" with the draft and FA looming. If they did they would lose any leverage in trade and contract negotiations. The only statement from Buddy that I could hang my hat on is that we won't be drafting Von Miller or Casey Matthews , or any other undersized linebacker. Which is a good thing. And I also think the Bills drafting AJ Green is looking more and more like a strong possibility.
