The Bills D played exceptional in the 1st half. They got full of themselves in the 2nd, whereas the Bengals never gave up. I really hope the veteran leadership on this team steps up and makes sure this never happens again. Hopefully, we will look back on this game as the springboard to greater achievement due to the fact that they now realize you can never take your foot off the gas in the NFL.

The Philly game worries me the most. The Iggles are feeling the heat based on their preseason hype (dream team) and will come out hard. Bills must come up with a few turnovers in this one. I have hope because its at the Ralph. 27-24 Bills

Who cares. We all now that Fitz and Johnson will be resigned. Freddy is one that I worry will be let go (he will hold out his last year if not resigned and rightly so). Freddy is on the wrong side of 30 and we have Spiller, who while still unproven, has a lot of potential and a lot has already been invested in him. I know Fast Freddy doesn't have alot of mileage compared to other backs his age, but it seems to me that the Bills won't be offering up top-tier dollars for him and his age. I could see a 3/yr front loaded deal if anything. I hope we sign all three though.

Agree with everything except the bolded excerpt. George Edwards inability to gameplan and put players in positions to succeed has been going on way to long. He has not improved at all. Its ONE friggin' game. We came into today as the highest scoring team. We had a bad game. Look around the league. Every team has let down games. We crapped the bed today, but to say that its another wasted season is just absurd. We play 2 very winnable games before the bye week. We can be 5-1 at the bye. Not too bad. I think more than anything that we might need on defense is a true shutdown playmaking cornerback. McGee can't stay on the field, Leodis has proven to be more of a liability than anything , and Aaron Williams is a rook. Drayton played good (not great) last year and so far this year he's been okay.

There is a reason why Moats hasn't seen the field much. He is a liability stopping the run (Raiders and Chiefs had the #1 and #2 rushing attack in 2010) and obviously Chan/Wannastedt know that having a less than 100% Merriman out there is better than having Arthur Moats on the field. Merriman is the least of my defensive worries.

I think the key to running this type of offense may have a lot to do with the mental capability of the quarterback, thus the reason why we don't see many teams run this type of formation.
