On this day in history Ronnie !@#$ing Harmon
Metal Man replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ugh, Droppin' Ronnie Harmon.... Thanks for the reminder of that terrible Bills moment. I'd like to think even if we could have beaten Denver we probably would not have beaten San Fran so that makes it a little easier to swallow... and at least somewhat good things followed immediately after. -
Any of you guys ever check out http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page ? It is a really well put together wiki site with tons of Lost information. Skimming the episode descriptions and drilling down with the various links about characters or island mythology is a great way to refresh yourself about the show without watching all 100+ episodes again. There are also some interesting theories in the theory sections as well as crazy off the wall ones... hmmm, sounds a little bit like TSW.

Why I Want Billick More Than Cowher
Metal Man replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree with you for a bunch of reasons more football related.... But sticking to your network analyst argument I would agree in that Cowher is surrounded by a bunch of complete morons at CBS, namely Sharpe and Marino. So if the idiocy of Marino and the complete lack of being able to speak the english language of Sharpe are somehow contagious, then you are 100% correct sir. -
He could probably make a better OC than AVP which probably isn't saying much. But HC is probably a little too much for him to take on.
-
Did McClain declare yet? I would like to see the Bills draft him too. Would be nice to have someone in the middle of the defense that actually scares people.
-
+1 Though the Bills never draft the one person everyone on TSW seems to want so that probably means no chance.

Bills press conference @2:30-Nix confirmed as new GM
Metal Man replied to zdro22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am more concerned that they actually interviewed Guy for GM.... Thankfully we somehow dodged that bullet, but I don't see how he could be fired now. Not much of a cleaning house after all, just looks like a lot of reshuffling. -

Metal Man replied to zdro22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't seem like people are bitching so much about choosing him as they are bitching about the Bills jumping the gun a bit on this one versus maybe doing a little interviewing just to be thorough...? -

Satan would be a great hire. Has no scruples about anything and would lie, cheat and whatever to get it done..... Hey it worked for the Pats*.... -
Bills press conference @2:30-Nix confirmed as new GM

I hope that was still some post sleep hangover.... I can't think of a worse way to bring 2010 in then finding out OBD is going to stand pat. -
At game time, maybe around that. But by the time the 3rd quarter starts, I would go with way under, possibly even preseason like numbers.

Supposed big news announcement at 9pm
Metal Man replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is pure speculation.... But maybe he would like the idea of competing against Belicheat twice a season? Cowher might think he owes him a bunch of a55 kickings for all the playoff losses Pittsburgh suffered at the hands of the Pats* over the years. Just a hopeful thought, in reality I agree and can't really imagine Cowher will decide to coach here. -
I live in Rome and still always choose the 15 minute drive to Recovery for watching sports if that is any indication of what Rome has.
-
Ha, that is hilarious.
-
It is a little bit down the road from Utica, but Recovery right across the street from the Turning Stone Casino is a great place to watch any game. It is pretty big inside with lots of TVs all over the place and the food is good. As for right in the Utica area the only place I have ever tried is Zebb's in New Hartford. That was decent but nowhere near as good as Recovery.

Will Bill Cowher be the next HC?
Metal Man replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotcha, that makes sense. I doubt we will land him at all, but I really hope you are right. -
Will Bill Cowher be the next HC?

Just curious.... Why are you predicting Tuesday in a bunch of threads versus any other time between now and then? -
Starting QB Next Sunday vs. Colts
Metal Man replied to sfbillsfan2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It makes absolutely zero sense for Fitz to start. But like you said, the fact that it doesn't make any sense is why the Bills will end up doing it. -
NFL Films Yearbook Title Suggestions Thread
Metal Man replied to Peevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha, this has to be the one. Explains the month leading up to the regular season perfectly. -
Not to mention that technically that isn't even the same team anymore. The new Cleveland Browns have been nothing but garbage since rejoining the league. I can't understand how Holmgren would laugh us off and then go to some other team who at best is just as pathetic as us.... The only thing I can think of is that RW and the Bills have a pretty bad rep around the league as a poor place to be.... But still.... Worse than Cleveland?
-
It seems to me that the rule makes the minority being interviewed look foolish. Especially with Grey seeing most people think Shanahan is a lock for that job anyway and that Snyder asked the league if his interview fulfills the rule. I know I would feel pretty stupid going into a job interview knowing I had absolutely no chance at getting it. I just can't see how this rule makes any difference at all.

He definitely was slowed down a bit with age and some of the beatings he took. To be fair though IIRC that was when the o-line really started to deteriorate for the Bills and that season he was sacked almost 40 times. I'm sure lack of mobility didn't help, but I would have thought he could have had a couple productive seasons left in him playing with a good team behind a solid line.
-
Wasn't he actually talking about playing for the salary to go directly to Hunter's Hope as well? I remember something about that being his main motivation for wanting to come back and play.
-
Is it looking like this game will sell out in time to be on TV?
-
Seriously, you would think someone who has a job that requires talking and communicating an opinion would have a grasp on the English language at least at some level. I can't watch any of the CBS stuff at all anymore because of him. Sharpe is terrible.
