I am not complaining about there not being any Bills. I get that no one but us really wants to see Buffalo play but Jacksonville has two home games? I don't even think many people in Jacksonville are excited about that let alone the nation. With the exception of a couple of the typical big division rival games I am not seeing many good games and definitely not any "Must See" match-ups to get very excited about this year.

Albert Haynesworth to New England for 2013 5th re pick
Metal Man replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely agree. It is maddening how they pick up past superstars for nothing and turn them into an even better version of their former glory. No doubt his BS from Washington isn't going to fly anymore, and I know it is a long shot, but I am holding out hope that maybe he shows up fat and out of shape like last season.... but knowing the way things work for the Pats* there is a better chance of Maybin making the probowl next season than Haynesworth not turning it around for them. -

All we can do is hope that the Pats* magic that seems to turn these NFL cast-offs and miscreants into pro-bowlers has finally run its course. -
Buddy Nix on WGR550 this morning....
Metal Man replied to Jdragon2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with everything you said here but isn't the senseless complaining and idiotic circular logic part of what makes message boards entertaining? ) -
Right, I think it was against Miami in week 3. I was in Florida for that game and I remember talking to some Dolphin fans the night before who were actually a little worried about playing the Bills the next day. Can't wait for the return of teams and other fans fearing the Bills again, legitimately.

The 2003 home opener 31-0 pounding of the Pats* was the first thing that came to mind. The exact moment that sticks with me is about midway through the 4th quarter when a few rows of Pats* fans in my section got up to start leaving and about a 1000 people serenaded them with the nah, nah, goodbye song as they made the walk of shame out of the stadium. (Little did I know at the time that it would be 7 years and counting before feeling that thrill of victory over the m!@#$s again.)

I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad
Metal Man replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just watched the premiere last night. I agree with most here that Skylar is becoming more and more annoying to watch and I feel like it steals time from all the rest of the show. But despite that minor annoyance the show continues to be amazing to me because things rarely go how I expect or how normal scripted TV/movies go. And for the record, I agree with an earlier poster than anyone who is behind episodes that aired shouldn't click on this thread at all but I personally hate being spoiled so for the reckless who do come to the thread I suppose it isn't too difficult to use the spoiler tag. -
My heart says 19-0 every single year, stupid brain jumped the gun on my prediction.

I see 6 or maybe 7 wins on that schedule though with a lot of improvement across the team by the end of the season. Seems like the team could be really close to breaking through to a winning season but I don't think they are quite over that hump yet.

Right, and Spiller had a tough time getting consistent playing time because of his poor blocking. If he can straighten that out I would expect some improvement out of him in the rest of his game as he sees a lot more time on the field.

Toronto Argonauts choose the wrong slogan
Metal Man replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't remember that one, but to me the king of over reaction was when people were protesting the second Lord of the Rings film in 2002 because the movie studios were obviously trying to capitalize on the 9/11 tragedy by naming the film The Two Towers regardless if that was the actual name of the second novel. No idea where some of these idiots come from. -
Casey Anthony found not guilty of murder

Someone should contact Dexter and have him take a look at this case. -
important question (sorry moderators)

+1 Only problem is they don't have much seating and the place gets mobbed. -
To those who are anti-Toronto
Metal Man replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be willing to bet the Carrier Dome crowd would be a lot more vocal and pro-bills than the Toronto crowd has seemed so far. -

Metal Man replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The strategy is sound. However I'd like to see verifiable numbers that show giving Toronto those games actually brought in a lot of Canadian Bills fans that had never come to games here before, or a dramatic spike in Bills gear sold in the Toronto area. If those numbers aren't impressive then the competitive advantage they sold away wasn't worth it. -
I watched the Pats*/Colts AFC championship game from the 06 season yesterday on ESPN's Greatest NFL Games. Wasn't old school Bills kickin' a55 but it still provided a slight NFL fix. Plus watching the Pats* lose an 18 point lead in a championship game is almost as great as watching the Bills smoke people in the glory days. Almost.

Tiger Woods career in serious jeopardy?
Metal Man replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I can't recall ever reading anything about PED testing in golf.... Anyone know if such a thing exists? -
Actually I think that Matt Stone hasn't been involved in writing or directing any episodes since at least 2007. Maybe Parker is getting tired of continuing to carry the torch for the show?

With the salary cap and allowable money spent being equal across the boards for all 32 teams it seems to me that the "no draft NFL" would be more about the historically successful franchises than their market size. In other words the top rookies would only want to negotiate with the perennial winners first followed by the more desirable places to live. Obviously those top teams couldn't sign everyone but it would likely mean year after year only the players those winning and geographically desirable teams didn't want would filter down to teams like the Bills. Essentially it would probably be the same as if teams like NE, Pittsburgh, Indy, Dallas, and Miami always had the tops picks and teams like the Bills, Browns, Lions and Bengals were always picking last.

Wasn't that actually Bledsoe he was talking about that day? I was there too and I thought that was the case. Plus IIRC the last new uniform was 2002, a couple years before the Bills drafted JP.

Dave Mathews by a mile for me over everyone listed so far.

Maybe it wouldn't be considered a major motion picture but I am still surprised no one has mentioned Troll 2. I always thought it was the universal standard for a terrible film. 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. For very recent though I thought Avatar was pretty terrible. Cool visuals wore off after about 15 minutes and after that it was a lot of predictable and boring Hollywood movie cliches. One of the few times in my life I fell asleep in the movies too.

Anyone else getting turned off by the lockout?
Metal Man replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It definitely is annoying me a bit right now and I do feel a little of my NFL love slipping away. However like most people said in this thread it won't really start to be evident unless this continues into late August.
