I suppose I should be expected to comment here claiming to be a man of metal. For the sub genre of metal I would put this in, screamo with some melody, it is pretty decent. Definitely has some solid rocking metal going on at it's core but as other's mentioned nothing to really made it distinctly stand out from the tons of bands I have heard like this too. I think the mixing could have used a bit of tweaking, the lead guitar was a little low right at the start when it kicked in and as gungy mentioned during the solo. But as far as this type of music goes the band sounded tight. With a little luck I could see them on a second stage at Ozzfest or something along those lines and from there who knows.

I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad

Gilligan was on the Nerdist podcast right before the airing of the first episode. I know Chris Hardwick is hit or miss with his interviewing as was discussed in the podcast thread but this episode was actually pretty good. Especially if you're a BB fan. They spent the bulk of the 80 minutes talking about BB. However if you're not current I wouldn't listen because there were season 1-5.5 spoilers for sure... though if you aren't current you probably shouldn't be in this thread to begin with. -
LB Nigel Bradham Charged with Majijuana Possesion

Well now you're opening up the discussion/debate on state rights vs federal government. Probably a quick way to get this thread sent to PPP. -

Right, but the question is will people still be tested for something that has become legal or will marijuana be removed from the "bad" list? -

This is a good point. I have wondered how it affects other jobs in those states now too. For instance most government jobs require drug testing so does that mean in Washington State and Colorado you can still be refused employment for a legal activity you might partake in on your day off? Will be interesting to see how this unfolds once the rest of the country catches up with this legal reform. -

That is fantastic. I hope I am around long enough to see this kind of forward thinking happening in NY. -
I'm with you guys. When it comes to winning the game there is no doubt a win is a win and years from now no one will remember the Bills could have had one win less. I wouldn't argue against that at all. My flip side isn't about being against getting a "cheap" win, it is more about my personal curiosity about how the new D will look against one of the best QBs in the game. Obviously if it was a choice between winning the game or not I'd take the win.

I'm finding myself torn on this news.... On one hand anything that will help the Pats* lose is a wonderful thing. However the other part of me wants to see the Bills facing the real New England* come September to see how we match up.

True, it is all out of context since we have no idea what the state of everyone is at this point. Couldn't be too far in the future though seeing that during the flash forward at the start of last year he was celebrating his 52nd birthday and then later in that season during present time he was celebrating 51. This still has me wondering why he just wouldn't make some more ricin. Even if he isn't risking much it would seem a lot simpler to just do it at home. I guess as far as a plot device goes though it is better to see him retrieving it as a foreshadowing of something to come. -

One thing I was kind of curious about.... Why would Walt risk going back to his seized house for the ricin? It didn't seem like it was that difficult for him to make it way back in season 2 when he did it the first time so risking being seen to recover the poison didn't seem worth it to me. -
Skip Bayless on EJ's 2-minute drive

Since when have any of these ESPN "journalists" every bothered with research before spouting opinion? ESPN is far from being a news outlet. Supposedly entertaining idiots just regurgitating the popular opinion is all you ever get from them. "Oh the Bills? Well they always stunk so I'm going to say all their draft picks were bad and they still stink." Way to think outside the box guys. -
I think the special teams play has me most impressed so far. Especially seeing most of those guys out there will be the same ones playing ST in the regular season unlike the late efforts of the O and D.

5 NFL Teams That Should Just Move Already
Metal Man replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
" A full 40% of the city's street lights have been turned out. Roughly 120,000 of its buildings sit empty. Response times for 911 calls extend to nearly an hour, while fewer than 9% of crimes are ever solved." Wow, I knew Detroit was in rough shape but this sounds like it is close to becoming the Detroit from Robocop. Maybe all the teams should get out of there and then we can just wall it up Escape From New York style. -
NFL to examine quality of preseason, lower ticket prices
Metal Man replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is nice they are finally looking at something that people have been complaining about forever. It always felt like a punishment having to buy two of these meaningless games at full price a year as a season ticket holder. With the exception of kids day at Ralph I can't imagine that many "non-season ticket" seats actually get sold to these games so why not make your season ticket holders happy while at the same time increasing the chances someone would actually walk up to the gate and buy a seat to these meaningless games? -
Bills preseason games 1 and 3 will be LIVE on NFLN
Metal Man replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Finally found my own answer for anyone that might have been interested. Looks like CBS 5 is picking it up live in the Syracuse area. http://www.tvguide.com/Listings/ -

Metal Man replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone have any info about local affiliates who may be picking up the game for people without NFLN? Where I am, in the Syracuse area, one of the local channels has picked up the feed and broadcast the game in years past but so far I haven't been able to dig up any concrete info if that will be happening this Sunday yet. -
A couple of posts about switching their avatars up brought a question to mind. What is the consensus on switching avatars frequently? For small time contributors or lurkers it wouldn't matter much but for me it seems like if the long time celebrities of the board changed a long standing avatar it would be like changing the main actor in a long running television show.

Same here. I rolled with the Powerslave cover for a while too but when I saw it popping up in other posts I needed to switch it up so I wouldn't get confused. For non-maiden people, this is from the cover for the single release of Stranger in a Strange Land.

Is "Division 4" college football coming?
Metal Man replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't disagree with some of the complaints listed about how colleges handle their student athletes and profits off of them but I don't understand the rights violation point. How is the NFL saying you have to play college ball at least 3 years or be at a certain age to work for them any different than any other company requiring you to have a 4 year degree or more to work for them? Playing football for a living isn't a "right". If they want to work for wages there are plenty of other things a college athlete could do. -

Maybe the league retains ownership of any publication photos as part of the agreement to let them use their employees to sell print? Just a guess but it would make sense that they, being the league or the Bills, would have a huge repository of photos from all sorts of publications that they can pull from.... then again maybe it was SJ13's private stash.... either way it was stupid for BB to post it and Stevie's degree of stupidity is TBD.

Has anyone figured out where this picture came from for sure? That should play into a lot of the judging going on here. It could be from a magazine photo shoot and the shirt be something that he didn't purchase on his own. He was in an NFL issue of Maxim a year or so ago, maybe it was them or some other publication who gave him a rack of stupid clothing to try on for some promotional shots? If it was a publication of that sorts then the level of humor would kind of fit. If he did the SI body issue naked would people be up in arms over someone re-posting those pics as a happy birthday? Not defending him so much as just saying before people call out his maturity level maybe we should have all the facts.

Wow, that is worst than the "McDonald's served me hot coffee" lawsuit. I wonder why he would stop at Apple, why not sue Al Gore for inventing the internet in the first place? -
Western NY-ers, I need your dining advice!
Metal Man replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Pok-A-Dot still exists? I grew up in Genesee county too but haven't been down that side of Ellicott, let alone in Batavia at all, in a long time. I would have bet money on that place having been gone for years. It's amazing how some of those hole in the wall places just hang around forever. -
Hopefully they are questioning Mr. Glass about this.
