Grand Theft Auto IV Sold 13 Million Units...
Metal Man replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It would be nice if they could pack a world with hundreds like world of warcraft but seems like the console world is still limited in technology when it comes to capacity of online gaming. I believe the gta instances are capped at 16. I agree the missions can use some more depth right now. Rockstar claims to have continuous updates coming so hopefully that can get better in the future. I think I have around 80k right now. Had a long marathon with some friends this past Friday-Saturday that helped a lot. For my friend who is way over half a million, he was off on Monday and found some BS mission that payed 9k and took about 3 minutes to complete. Him and some other guys replayed it all day and milked some crazy money out of it. I guess just today they changed that mission to only be 3k since so many people were doing that so we missed the boat on that deal. -
I'll be at the game this week but that being said this statement doesn't apply as widely as you make it seem to. There are people who live 150 - 200 miles away who are affected by the antiquated NFL black out rules. I'm pretty sure they still have at least a little bit of a right to complain.

Grand Theft Auto IV Sold 13 Million Units...
Metal Man replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't think you can rent any. Cheapest I've found is 300k but I haven't tried looking at the online real estate site from your phone. I guess that is the way to shop. Don't bother buying one of the cheaper garages. One of my friends was able to buy a high rise already for 400k and it came with a ten car garage. -
My friend from work and his father will be on the field for the Bengals game this weekend. I'm pretty sure this was an incentive included with the club level season tickets he purchased. As part of that he was allowed to choose one game to have pre-game field access and this is the one they chose. I'm not exactly sure which club level he bought the tickets for but I imagine google could help.

Message from the NFL Commissioner
Metal Man replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was an email, evidently sent out to many people. (and here I thought I was on the commish's Christmas card list) -

I think the idea was that IF everything after Walt in the car was kind of his imagination and fantasy about how things play out then it wouldn't make sense that he could imagine Jessie with the box seeing he didn't know about it. I don't hate the Norm McDonald theory but everything about Jessie kind of shoots it down. Especially that Jessie was a slave to the AB guys. -

IIRC that scene showed some romantic involvement between Walt and Gretchen. I always assumed the Grey Matter falling out involved a love triangle there with Elliot. The question is who betrayed who? I have always thought Gretchen was with Eliot first because in my mind it made more sense in that scenario that Walt would walk away and take the buyout because of guilt. If it was the other way around, Eliot stole Gretchen from Walt and somehow forced him out, well then he was much too kind to him in the end. -

That is a really good point. Not knowing that he had provided has to hurt but I still disagree somewhat with the idea he doesn't think of it as a win. Maybe it isn't a full win but the fact that his family should be ok after he is gone has to be a very comforting thought as he passes. I don't have kids but I have to believe that most people who do would consider it a win if they pass on leaving their family with more than they had. Definitely doesn't ruin anything for me. Amazing show, maybe the best ever, I was just expecting a more tragic ending based on the few leading up to it. -

I am not sure how I feel about Walt supposedly still being able to get the money to his kids. It basically justifies all of the horrible things he did along the way. I was thinking it would be better if it was all for nothing because it would be a better punishment for letting things get so out of control. To know he destroyed so many lives for really no reason other than his own feeling of self fulfillment would have been a fitting end. Don't get me wrong, I loved the character and was always rooting for him to slip the cops but him basically winning in the end didn't feel quite right. -
I will be in Tampa later this year with 3 other Bills fans in full gear. I've seen plenty of harassment at the Ralph beyond the "all-in-good-fun" variety so I'll report back how it compares to the way we are treated while down there. I've been to Giants and 49ers away games in Bills gear, took some ribbing but nothing near as bad as I've seen before or what people have mentioned in this thread. Guess it is like winning the sh!tball lottery if you get stuck near one of these over the top jack-offs.

Perfect. I was hoping the Bills would be underdogs in this one. Might as well get some extra points for my Bills bet while I watch the game in Vegas this weekend.

Depends on what cycle you are on for being eligible for a new phone. Anyone who got the 4s two years ago and was due for an upgrade would get a significant jump with the 5s or 5c. However anyone with a 5 going to 5s or 5c wouldn't make a ton of sense unless you had money to burn. The thing I thought most interesting was their announcement that they would be giving away their iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps for free with iOS7. It wasn't clear if it was for new devices only but that is a nice suite of software to have for nothing.

Jets or Pats* on TNF - can't decide
Metal Man replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tie would be the best. I agree with a lot of people saying Pats* because it is fun to see the all those c0cky Jets taken down a notch but I have to go Jets in this one. The more losses the Pats* have the more open the division is for everyone and if somehow miraculously it is ultimately between the Bills, Jets and Fins for the AFC East crown I like our chances. (also I expect a lot of people to go NE* in my survivor pools so that would help me too) -
What if the Bills game is blacked out?
Metal Man replied to apikefish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No response to really anyone. Just notice that every year someone asks about blackouts or where to watch a game usually causes a big debate and people who prefer home usually get hammered on which always confused me. I agree for a lot of people this is probably true. I live about 150 miles away and will hit about 1 a year mixing in out of state games as well. I just think if someone prefers home over the stadium for whatever reason they shouldn't get crushed for it. It's disappointing how times have changed, but I don't think it's fair to call out an entire region or an entire fan base on an assumption they are all just lazy or not good enough seeing they don't want to attend. -

Metal Man replied to apikefish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get all the angst towards posters who would rather watch the game at home or in a bar that fly around these types of threads all the time. I personally had season tickets for years before I moved away but have had tickets in the family for over 40 years and I don't remember ever feeling the need to lord over others that didn't attend as much as I did. I get the idea of supporting the team or it will leave but in today's NFL isn't it just as important to have TV ratings up to keep the real NFL money maker rolling? Shouldn't buying a new Bills jersey or t-shirt every year to watch in your living room or your favorite bar count too, or are those people also somehow less of a fan as well? I would think people have tons of legitimate reasons for not being able to, or not wanting to attend the games so I can't see a good reason to attack them for choosing to have their entertainment in the way that is best suited for them. It is like telling someone they are an a-hole for deciding to wait for a movie on DVD instead of seeing it in the theater. It makes more sense to challenge the NFL to see what they could do better to entice people back into the stadiums or what they could stop doing that is driving people away. I'm sure even those of us who still go to the games a lot can find things to improve in both of those categories. -
I have heard it mentioned in the Syracuse area before as having good wings. Haven't been able to try it out yet though. From what I was told it is take-out only and seeing I am up in Liverpool it is a little far (10+ miles) for a pick-up order or delivery. If I ever end up in parking Skytop for an SU football game I'll make sure to run over and grab an order first to see what the fuss is about.

It amazes me how polarizing the Duff's conversation always is. I actually like the wings swimming in sauce soup as they tend to be at the Amherst location but I have friends who hate it. I haven't been in a while but they used to have a killer lunch special there when I was living/working in that area. I agree that the Orchard Park location doesn't seem as good and I thought the Eastern Hills Mall Duff's was terrible the one time I tried it out. For all of you who still live in the Buffalo area you should feel pleased that you have these kinds of choices as even the low end WNY wings likely beat most in the rest of the country. I never thought I'd find anything close in Syracuse where I am now but for anyone who is or ever will be in the area Change of Pace Sports Bar is pretty d@mn good and this is coming from an admitted wing snob.

Will the Carolina game be blacked out?
Metal Man replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was thinking the exact same thing the past week and this morning after checking FB and Twitter. Too soon in the season to hope for a Russ Salvatore bailout? -

My first thought was that she was actually covered in chocolate. And it worked because now I am rationalizing with myself how I deserve a candy bar out of the office "snack shack". -
With Oden on Our Side is the one I really like and got me into them in the first place. Every release since then I have enjoyed. Love Luther Allison as well by the way.

For brand new music I am ashamed to say my girlfriend has somehow influenced me to listen to country occasionally, when on my own even. I'm a big blues fan too so I picked up Buddy Guy's new album that dropped a couple weeks ago recently. However for metal I am in the same boat as you in that I haven't found anything brand new I like a lot . Black Sabbath's new release was great but I don't think that really qualifies. Today at work I have been listening to old Atreyu and Deftones. Earlier this year I did pick up the new release by Amon Amarth because I thought their last two albums were pretty good. This is one is along the same lines. If you haven't heard of them I guess you would classify it as Melodic Viking Metal. These guys have also been around for a little while so again not sure it qualifies as "new".

I agree with everything you said except for the AAA comparison. The Japanese leagues are a step above that though I still don't think they should count towards any MLB records. One thing they mentioned last night though that I found pretty telling on how good Ichiro has been is that no one in the history of MLB has gotten 2722 hits in a 13 season span like Ichiro has. Might not be worth celebrating but I was still OK with it. Nice to have some baseball news out there with a positive spin versus all the a-rod and ped news every day.

Great choices 122. Also a big fan of KSE and I agree, As Daylight Dies is fantastic all the way through.
