  1. Candidates routinely publicly deny interest in positions that they are not assured of in order to protect their image and status if they do not get it in the end. I'm sure you've seen this before. You've now gotten it from a source close to Marty and from someone who has proven they have information from inside Bills management. Give it up.
  2. Doesn't hurt Graham's story at all. His story was from Schottenheimer's camp. The Bills turned him down, and Marty's camp believed it's because of Ralph. I would guess that they got that impression from Nix, who didn't want to directly turn down a friend himself. Graham reported it as their belief, nothing else.
  3. Are you really this credulous? I'll pretend you are. Sometimes people in public positions say things to protect their image, and to give themselves plausible deniability if something goes wrong. Off the record stories are frequently more truthful and reliable than on the record quotes for this very reason.
  4. +1 There is no way a professional reporter hangs his ass out in the wind on a story like this that could be so easily disputed without a credible enough source to at least satisfy his employers. Look up Jayson Blair if you want to see what happens to reporters who make up stories. And quit disparaging the story because it appeared on a blog. It's nothing more than an extension of his regular column. There's an enormous difference between Tim Graham posting something on his blog and billsguy99 posting something on his. It's shocking that you need any of this pointed out to you.
  5. That would be a credible move. There's no way Wilfork ends up here though.
  6. This is hilarious on so many levels. I wonder if he found it yet.
  7. This is one of the two great lies about Trent Edwards. Nothing "ruined" Trent Edwards besides his lack of talent and unwillingness to take a chance, any chances at all, to attempt to score points. The other great lie is that he was anything beyond mediocre during the first 6 games of last year. The "comebacks" were necessary because he played like crap for 3 quarters against the absolute worst teams in the NFL. Statistically he has fewer than 5 games that could even be considered average in his career-and not one that would be considered above average by good quarterback. He will never amount to anything, and never had a chance to. Plenty of QB's have porous offensive lines and take plenty of hits and get concussions and have been much more successful than Trent has ever show an inkling of becoming. That's not hate, that's truth. The hate is reserved for the chowderheads incessantly blathering on about talent or promise in a guy that has never shown either. There's no rational argument to be made in his favor. May he never disgrace our atrocious uniforms again.
  8. Nobody said he's afraid of getting hit. They said he's afraid of throwing interceptions. Responding to arguments that haven't been made doesn't seem very logical or rational. I demand a refund. I was assured that threads like this would never appear on this board.
  9. The team showed passion and they had fewer boneheaded mistakes-they were definitely more into the game than they've been in the last few weeks. I didn't feel like a jackass for caring more than the players appeared to for a change.

  11. He was not very good, but more closely resembled a professional quarterback than anything we've seen in the Bills backfield for the last 16 games.
  12. Why don't you go look up the stats if you think I sound like a jackass, genius. Edwards doesn't even attempt these 8-15 yard plays that Fitz has at least found a little success with.
  13. another throw Edwards would never even attempt
  14. let your receiver make a play, funny how that works
  15. No, to be clear I'm not saying Fitz is any good, actually the opposite. At the same time though, he's highlighting Edwards' deficiencies.
  16. They play hard for Jauron. At least for a quarter or so every game you can count on this team to play hard, and that's hard to do.
  17. Well, one intermediate attempt probably is more than Edwards has made, but no, most of Fitz's attempts have been in that range. Just one, lonely, pathetic completion, because Fitz sucks too. Just in a different way.
  18. Actually, despite his craptastic accuracy he's showing exactly why Edwards needs to go. He's targeting those intermediate routes that Edwards won't, and showing that qb is, in fact, a huge problem with the offense. He's showing that the line isn't the reason that Edwards plays like a kitty, it's Trent-if Fitz has time to attempt those throws so does Edwards, but he's already attempted more of those routes than Trent has all year.
  19. LOL, let's restrict this conversation to realistic propositions.
  20. Only problem is that if it's TO that does it, it can be spun as TO just "being TO". Needs to be maybe Stroud or McGee. I think that they are the only vets that have been performing and aren't injured that have the credibility to make an impact
  21. ready to play and always well organized. a well-oiled machine
  22. yup I'm sure they're measuring fred for a canton bust as we speak. He's had a couple of nice games but take it easy. SGBF is already taking the thread to a sublime level of stupid, let's not take things over the top.
  23. I agree. This coaching staff has always focused on players who look good in practice rather than games. We haven't lost a game on a Friday since Jauron took over.
  24. No Gruden. It would suck to have a couple of winning years and then be terrible. All those ups and downs. We're all much more comfortable now with steadily sucking.
