debated taking Burden at 15, but Mike Green looks like the real deal at Edge. Was happy to get Higgins in the second and Bryant in the 4th. Really hit on some 1T's who are available later in the draft, and solidified backup LB. Would have liked to get a CB and/or S, but none matched up with BPA.

Hot Take: Does Bobby Babich Lose His Job?
RyanC883 replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
The investment on D has given abysmal returns. Better idea is to spend on offense, start taking D later in the draft unless a CB or S who fits this D is available. -
-
bring them back, then switch to something entirely new for the Super Bowl!
-
if that's the case, it's even more damming on the coaching staff to continue to run behind Dawkins. Perhaps once, but when it did not work, why continue to do it when your LT is sick? Go right, fake it and pass, etc.
-
that's a good point. For some reason I had Crosby as a FA. In that scenario, we need to get Higgins in FA, Crosby via trade, and extend/convert a ton of contracts. Overall, I'd take Higgins over Crosby.
-
I really hope the Bills get over it. We don't need another blocking WR on this roster, esp. if Hollins comes back.
-
Thanks. Really like what I'm reading about him here! https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Matthew-Golden-WR-Houston Speed and route running. Yes, please.
-
Thanks. who are your top route runners/ separation creating WRs in the draft? Curious.

If Allen asks for a new staff he should get it.

never said he was fired right after, only that it happened after he did "all that great stuff." But lets continue to stand pat with Reid mentee McD and see where that gets us. Hint: not even a SB appearance, much less a championship. -
Love the first-round pick for the Bills, but in the 2nd, not going after another Edge who likely underproduces with our 1st pick, and then taking another #2 WR in Bond. I'm going after Tre Harris with the first second round pick, then taking the DE from BC (Ezeiruaku) with the later 2nd round pick. if we get Crosby, no need for another edge, IMO. Take Amos (CB) at some point, and a WR with the first pick, even if we need to trade up.

Reid was fired after numerous NFC Championship trips and even a SB trip. Eagles then won a SB, and have gone 3 other times. So yeah, getting rid of McD will not cause the team to go backwards, it might lead to a Championship. -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
RyanC883 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
totally agree. JA has THE WORST cast around him of any QB in the playoffs. Go out an get Tee Higgins in FA. Then draft someone in Rd. 2 who is an elite route runner. Heck, bring Woods back (he can also block). Bean is to blame for these playoff losses. I really don't care about the D. They suck in the playoffs anyway with McD, so build up the offense. -
None of them are must signs, IMO. We don't have a single player on there that opposing team are "afraid" of and can't be replaced. My #1 priority is getting Tee Higgins. Josh has the worst surrounding cast of any QB in the divisional and conference championship round. In fact, he has the worst cast of any top 5 QB in the NFL. It's wayyy beyond time to fix that, and a pick at #30 won't do it. Beyond Higgins, the only top WR available is Godwin, and he is 4 years older than Higgins. Spotrac has Higgins at 25.4/yr, Godwin at 22.5/yr. Other interesting FAs who would be secondary are our own Hollins who we paid 2.6 this year, Robert Woods (only 31 somehow) at 1.4/yr, Elijai Moore at 4.5, James Palmar at 4.3, and Tutu Atwell at 4.0. But we need to come away with Higgins, or at the very least Godwin. We can't sign anyone that jeopardizes our ability to get one of them. Internally, my priority in-order are:: Ty Johnson, Hollins, Hamlin (good backup/fringe starter, upgrade in draft or FA), Furgerson, Anderson.

cut. put money towards signing Tee Higgins
-
true. But the Saints may have no options at this point. And, perhaps Spags is better this time.

love this write up. I’d go corner, 1T, Edge, LB. But that’s just based on likely draft availability. We lacked consistent pressure on QB and run stuffers. Depth at LB, S and CB is concerning. agree with this also. Almost rather get offense right. Would love to see Tee Higgins here. so play him on 5th year? That would be my inclination given these numbers. Unless we need money and can get Tee Higgins

great post. He is very far down on the list of issues from yesterday.

Just some thoughts before I log off for a while...
RyanC883 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
insanity is doing the same thing hoping it will be different. That’s the Bills. Whether it’s running left on tush push or playing the same garbage D, or McD scapegoating someone (Elam). making the playoffs is table stakes with JA. -
perhaps Bean will draft another Elam. Bean loses sight of this early on and it costs us. Later on he goes BPA, and those are his best picks on the roster sans JA.
-
we were not having McD’s D giving 7 pts to the opponent by letting them score on their first drive like he did all year away.
-
I may add 3rd or 4th as a poll option later. I think they would take a 3rd. The issue in Steeler land is they will not keep him, so want something for him now prior to contract expiration. I'm not sure if he is a target complainer, or unhappy/complains when not winning. He was fine here when Steelers were on a tear, before the drop off. Could use more guys that hate loosing.
-
can we afford him. This would be my preference as well, but highly unlikely.

Why moving on from McDermott is tough due to logistics
RyanC883 replied to iccrewman112's topic in The Stadium Wall
this fear is nonsensical. Look at the Eagles. Win a SB against peak Brady Pats, and fire that coach. Bring in Nick S., now what, 2 SBs in 3 years. They also fired Andy Reid, who is looking like McD here. Sometimes both parties need a change. Good is the enemy of Great. -
the 'hidden injury' excuse that losing team use. A yearly event. I'm sure everyone on KC and PHL is perfectly healthy.
