  1. I'd trade up for Bosa. But doing that from the 20's could be hard I would love Barr in Buffalo!
  2. I'm in. I like the non-Bills idea, but would do it with the Bills also.
  3. I'd also put 8 in the box. Make the Bills prove they can throw. And I'd rush the passer and play man on all WR's until the Bills can throw. McCarron and Peterman are bad with pressure (sacks v. INT's) and Allen is a rookie. That said, our WR's could surprise, and after getting burnt perhaps a few times, the D coordinator would need to change. But until then, I'd run this type of D.
  4. this is the most excitting pre-season for the Bills in a long time. So much stuff to keep an eye on: (1) clearly, the QB battle and how Allen performs; (2) WR's, who is #2; (3) O-line; (4) D. Will it be even more dominant than last season; (5) what will Daboll's offense look like. I know, schemes are generally vanilla in pre-season, but the individual play in the vanilla situations should be telling. Individual players to watch: Allen, Lawson, Peterman, Zay (if he returns); A. Washington; entire O-line; all WR's not named Benjamin. And about 10 others I've left out!
  5. yes, I would pay him more than Mario. He's LT good. what if he changes his name? He could play in disguise for the Bills. Perhaps be incognito??
  6. humm, if it applies to RB's trying to bang for a few more yards that could impact that game for sure. I'm thinking more Troy Polomeau (sp) flying head-first tackles. Hopefully does not apply in RB situation, or RB's will have to play more "shifty" like shady. Days of guys like "The Bus" would be gone. I thought my middle school coach was deranged in the 90's, but perhaps not as much as others
  7. engaged to a Pats**** fan living in Boston. Man, that's gotta be miserable.
  8. I like the onside kick idea if you have a dominating D. I'd actually try it for the Bills this year in a OT situation. Perhaps recover, or perhaps stop, other team gets FG at worst. I'm sure someone will try this. Funny thing, as always, if it works you are a genius, if not, your the moron of the century. Oh well, I'd like it regardless of how it turns out. Gotta take some risks sometimes.
  9. I don't think so. It's always been illegal but rarely enforced. Your taught not to lead with your head in middle school. About time the NFL enforces fundamentals to keep players safe. putting your head to the side and tacking with your shoulder and wrapping up is much more natural, IMO.
  10. McDermott is my surprise player of the year. Guy has physical talent. where is DE BEER. Esp. on Friday. Bring on de Beer!!!
  11. I was SHOCKED that he was available. He will be dominant on the inside. And will keep Kyle and Star fresh through a rotation. 3 high-quality NT's. he beat Groy 1 on 1. Groy is a solid player. Plus, you can be that Fraizer will make sure that if they put a top guy on Phillips, Edmunds will be wreaking havoc or Lorax or someone else.
  12. I agree. The only time he needs to exhibit extreme confidence is when he is on the field, and he does that. I believe he has the confidence and attitude to be successful. Now, if we can fix his short passing game, he will be a long-time starter for us!
  13. I think he is just trying to be the best he can, learn from the Vets, and I guarantee he wants to starts, but understands if he doesn't.
  14. this will be a big difference this year, IMO. If our QB's can read the entire field and go through progressions, we get 1-2 more TD's a game. TT locked onto his #1 too often, then ran. Which was fine a lot of times because he can run, but missing wide-open WR's was also a clear skill of his. the TT situation this year will be interesting. If he has terrible stats heading into week 3, watch out. Luckily I think Cle also has a good running game, and TT should be able to lock onto Gordon or Landry. But if he is missing open guys, I predict anarchy in the CLE locker room.
  15. is there any team more injury cursed than the Chargers??? Rivers prob wins a SB or 2 by now if not for the continual injury parade over there. Rivers should come play for the Bills so he can win a SB. Terrible injury for Verrett and the Chargers.
  16. Love this front office. We have "enough" RB's on paper. But adding Orleans Darkwa would be a great addition. Injuries happen. Having Shady, Cadet, Ivory and Darkwa give you depth and some versatility.
  17. likely. But when we go 12.4, and win the AFC East, what will they say? (Likely it will be hours of "what happened to NE," totally ignoring the high caliber players this team has. With a good scheme on D, we have at least 5 pro bowl caliber players: 1. Tre White; 2. K. WIlliams; 3. Edmonds; 4. Hyde; 5. Poyer.
  18. wow, kind of an interesting/bizzare take. You can be a "traitor" to a team/city. Anderson may be a bad example, as noted by someone else, but others like McGhee and J. Peters were traitors. People under contract who either badmouthed the city and/or played poorly on purpose.
  19. Not a bad idea, BUT, Bell had 60 or something mroe touches than any other NFL player last season, and will likely have a similar load this year. The odds of a breakdown on what will be a VERY high priced player (he turned down 14.5 millino/year) make me say pass. I'd rather chase some great OL and DL play for that money and draft a RB in Rd. 2.
  20. I'd vote for both. But not being on the Bills Wall of Fame is a glaring omission, IMO. Agree 100% with your post. He passed the eye test as a big game/situational player, and as you pointed out, and thanks for that work, passes the statistical test.
  21. could be a cheap, prove-it signing. I'd sign him now, even assuming that Shady is still here.
  22. As an aside, I don't understand how Sirrius and XM were allowed to merge. There is only one Sat radio provider. Very strange. Hopefully some competition comes along--will keep prices down. National reporters are a joke when it comes to covering the Bills, IMO. I'd rather stream a local Buffalo station or even get better coverage here in Pittsburgh where one of the hosts is from Buffalo.
  23. very interesting take, and good points. No real pro-bowl players for sure. Perhaps the depth is better?! I think Gory, Dawkins, Bodine, Mills, and improved Miller will be a formidable 5, with Newhouse and/or Teller potentially starting. But as you said, the key is how well they play together. We also have Connor McDermitt, who I think will be a surprise. He was ranked high out of college. Any word on Henderson's availability?
  24. great points. The WR chart looks bleak. But, I have a feeling we have a lot of high-upside guys and 1-3 of them have a great year.
