If he's cheaper than Bojo, seems like a good tradeoff. -
What About Watson for Jag's No. 1 Pick?
RyanC883 replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure this is laughable at all. Jax has some decent WR's, and if the #1 is all it takes, then yeah, I do it in an instant if I'm Jax. A proven Watson over a questionmark. Watson every time. I'd even trade next years #1 as well. -
Cynthia Frelund's Analytics Based Mock Draft
RyanC883 replied to Boxcar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for sharing. Some of the analytical information is useful in learning about prospects. I like the player mocked to us, although I'd go Harris or Etitine there. On the other hand, this comment about a prospect is just useless: "From a pure speed standpoint, on plays where he was not touched, Oweh had the fastest burst among edge rushers in the FBS last season, as measured by the time it took him to travel 5 yards from the line of scrimmage." On plays where he was not touched? Um, what happened when he was touched? -

Free Agents We Should Be Looking At

he might be able to, but I agree, we can't count on it. If he shows up and balls out, then it's a bonus. -
Today's draft with explanations. Let me know your thoughts. Used DraftNetwork, no trades. 30. Buffalo Bills Micah Parsons LB, Penn State (thought I was on Fanspeak for a while with the seeming unreasonableness of him making it to 30. In fact, lots of LB's were still here (the ND one and Missouri one as well). Parsons seems to be the all-around package. Slight concern that he sat out 2020. 61. Buffalo Bills Creed Humphrey IOL, Oklahoma (awesome interior line presence for Buffalo. I believe he has not let up a sack in 3 years at Oklahoma) 93. Buffalo Bills Tyler Shelvin IDL, LSU (more trench building. This time with a fantastic 1T prospect) 162. Buffalo Bills Javian Hawkins RB, Louisville (we need a speed RB. speed RB here!) 175. Buffalo Bills Deommodore Lenoir CB, Oregon (CB that can apparently provide great pass coverage and run defense. Good depth addition to an important position) 214. Buffalo Bills Ihmir Smith-Marsette WR, Iowa (Guy is rumored to be the "steal of the draft," so I'm not sure he will last this long. That said, he did. He's quick, and adds more speed to the offense) 230. Buffalo Bills Landon Young OT, Kentucky (the guy is supposed to be a fantastic run blocker, but has limited experience pass blocking. I'll take that here. We coach him up. Good depth) Overall, this should help the run D, improve the interior OL, pass rush (Parsons), provide additional offensive speed, and add depth at some key positions.

So do a Diggs type deal this year for a DE?
RyanC883 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree we need a better pass rush, but you also have to stop the run game. You simply cannot get gashed there or we will get beaten like we did against KC and Tenn this year. you can't be a total sieve. That said, I think we can draft some 1T's to help in run stopping. And developmental Edge players who can contain and eventually pass rush, while spending FA money on impact pass rushers. Bonus: there are 1T's that generate pass-rush pressure. -

totally agree. You need the complete package to win it all. Our 90's D's got LIT UP in Super Bowls due to the "bend and don't break." That only works so long. You need ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK, D to win. -
Free Agents We Should Be Looking At
RyanC883 replied to wagne591's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think "over performing" means over performing relative to talent. I totally agree that Edmunds (2nd year of regression), Hyde, Moss, and Knox underperformed. Our offense was basically Allen, Beasley, Diggs, and good OL pass (but horrid run) blocking. We have a LOT of talent upgrades to be made on offense to compete with KC and Tampa, IMO. On Defense, we do seem okay in the secondary, although we need someone who can cover a TE, as well as rush the freaking passer and stop the run. We are average in the front 7, and that just won't get it done. Bean knows this. He knew our WR's were horrid, he fixed that. He'll fix the DL. Tried last year, but we need more than one 1T on the D. And we need LB's that know how to diagnose plays. -

I think we def need interior help. Even if Star comes back, you've gotta question the guys passion (he took the year off because he'd get paid anyway), and what shape will he be in? That said, I agree we should focus FA on Edge. I think the draft is decently deep in space eating 1T. Ideally, I'd grab a 1T in FA and the draft. -
we still need an Edge in FA. Too risky to draft one, and can't count on AJ being the guy. Carl Lawson is currently at the top of my list, then a 2nd group including: Shaq Barrett, Takkarist McKinley Shelby Harris, Justin Houston, Hendrickson, Clowney, Leonard Floyd, and Melvin Ingram, and a 3rd group of: Denico Autry, Aldon Smith, and Romeo Okwara. Who do you all like?

Joe B article speculates John Brown will be cut
RyanC883 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn’t we trade Brown for a 4th or 5. I know he has a big cap hit, but there is likely some market for a late pick. as long as bargain hunting is not like the DL last year! -
Bring Shady back for 1 more year?

Yeah, but that’s a get to the SB and lose charm. Buuuuurn just make sure to give him the damm ball at the goalie in the Sb. Freaking Pete Carroll. -
Thoughts on Curtis Samuel
RyanC883 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would love him on the Bills. But if we shed money to create cap space, would rather spend it on an Edge. McKenzie should be cheapish to keep, and some speedy WR’s project in the 4-6 round range. btw, I think we trade out of 30 into 2nd and get a 4th round pick. Stills was a baller at MIA and fell off a cliff o something. -
Would love to see Sunday Ticket just as a stand alone streaming all like MLB or NHL offer but with in network availability also.

Bills Salary Cap deep dive with Spotrac's Mike Ginetti
RyanC883 replied to Aussie Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Star is overpaid. That's why it was a bad signing. It limits the cap elsewhere. Could have drafted similar production or gotten it at much less, even paid Star much less. Ideal (unrealistic) situation is to trade Star and his contract, get Tomlinson and a rookie. -

yes. so he can get 3 rings in a row!!! -
this is the problem i have with it. seems very unrealistic. your first 3 picks are money, but likely none (perhaps Cox) make it to the 3rd. after watching KC in the Super Bowl, I’m down for OL at 30.
