  1. so who is the next best FA Edge rusher???
  2. I think we draft Plan B. Hoping Ford stops sucking is a terrible plan. If Ford turns it around and the rookie is good, that's a great problem to have. Keep rookie, trade, tag Ford.
  3. did he have the time to complete anything over 10 yards? (I did not see the Giants games) I mean, he must have completed something longer in college?! I'd rather take him here cheaply than draft a camp arm. Save that late pick for a punter, or to trade up. ?
  4. Would be a TE2 upgrade for sure. Not Gronk, but if Gronk is going to Tampa (freaking Brady) then it makes sense to get someone like Hooper here.
  5. hopefully Edmunds replacement is drafted. Don't want to be paying him non-rookie contract money. Someone will overpay him (looking at you Jacksonville)
  6. HOPEFULLY D players restructuring means they know the need for an elite pass rusher, and Bean is on it.
  7. we should def bring him back. A TC arm with familiarity in the system. Also, yes, he was dreadful with the Giants. But he got few 1st team snaps and was thrown into the dumpster fire that was the Giants offense last year. So, a good TC/PS addition for sure. I still want a vet backup, perhaps Mayfield (we can become reclamation land!)
  8. Yes, if a bunch of "analysists" state that a player should go at 24, and he starts falling, there is generally a reason known to most GM's for that fall. Rodgers is an outlier. The second part of the argument is that Bean had AJ too high on his board, same with Basham, if he actually took BPA, which I do not believe he did, and rather attacked what he felt were the best "edge" rushers left. Star was such an abysmal contract. Hopefully Jones can come in and play to his contract. I'd also be fine drafting the 1T from GA if he is still available (depending on who else is available) and just sitting Star if needed.
  9. I'm okay moving on, as long as we get impact players in their stead with the saved money over a rookie.
  10. I think you are right, and hope you are wrong. You need an impact player in the front 7. Hoping for guys to consistently win 1 on 1's is bad, IMO, because you'll run into pro bowl guards, tackles, then it's 3 guys rushing. Rushing 4 and having an A Donald type or Chandler Jones makes the other 3 that much better. hoping for all 3
  11. If he was tired of competition at CB2, then he is soft. But he played really well as our CB1 (not elite, but well) following Tre's injury. Not getting him back at 4mill/year is puzzling. I like Jackson. Would have liked to keep them both!
  12. I don't understand this at all. He was our CB1 following Thanksgiving. 4 mill a year for 2 years is GREAT CB2 money. WTF. I'm sure there is an explanation, but I don't know what it could possibly be, unless the plan is Jackson at CB2, draft someone, and save this money for a big FA pass rusher.
  13. well, to be fair to Peterson, Diggs smokes most CBs.
  14. Tom Brady’s unretirement sparks call for investigation (msn.com) https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/tom-brady-s-unretirement-sparks-call-for-investigation/ar-AAV5eLJ
  15. good day to you. You clearly do not understand BPA, unless you go off pre draft rankings, which, BTW, had better players listed above both AJ and Basham (CB Kristen Fulton in 2020 over AJ).
  16. Wrong. I have not changed my argument. My argument is that they fell for a reason (which we can see now, and other NFL teams saw), and they were not the BPA at the time they were taken.
  17. two questions here: (1) can he rush the ball/was he asked to. If so, could he surpass Singletary on 1st and 2nd. OR (2) could he be put lined up wide, having Singletary as a back and him as a WR in certain sitautions. Overall, I like what we got, a productive great 3rd down back.
  18. Good addition. Blitz pickup, pass catching 3rd down back. Still need a bruiser for short yardage, hate to keep having JA do that. Moss does not seem to be the answer there. And it looks like Singletary on 1st and 2nd. Perhaps a late round pick?
  19. This is not revisionist history. Also, it does not matter what some analyst on ESPN thinks. These players DROPPED FOR A REASON, and Bean pounced on the falling players both times. Dobbins would have been a better pick than non-factor AJ, and Humphrey a better pick than Basham. Your snarky comment adds little. Falling players are falling for a reason. The proof is in the results. Bean messed up these draft boards, plain and simple. Perhaps we should give Bean a participation trophy for trying?
  20. o and both fell for a reason that Bean/some scout missed. There were some who may have considered them BPA, but Dobbins and Dillion at RB were available when AJ picked, and Gay at LB, and of course Humphry at C with Basham. if they had those guys as BPA their board was messed up. It seemed clear that Bean wanted Edge and just attacked that.
  21. No need for the “you’d have to follow the team and have an adequate memory” garbage. And now we know there was a reason both players fell below their arbitrarily assigned average draft value. Other GM‘s saw this, we didn’t. And neither were BPA when drafted. AJ has shown no signs of improvement, Basham taken over an all pro OL.
  22. should have mentioned the Bills fn steelers.
  23. that would be a mistake. Bean drafting for position over BPA had cost them early in the last few drafts (AJ and Basham come to mind).
  24. yep. need that impact player in C Jones!!
