  1. but on the other hand, if he is exonerated, it’s not like he can just punt again. He is likely out of the NFL for at least one year by then and has the stain of the investigation and cut on him. He gets cut, that might be it. And suing the wrongful accuser later is no sure winner either and would not make him whole. But, to your point, the distraction is immense, and what if he did do it. The Bills need to decide on a plan (release or wait), release a strong statement regarding that plan, and move on while not discussing the matter further.
  2. I think some rankings had other punters ranked above Azaira.
  3. you may be correct, but then I think McD has unrealistic thoughts about what sort of investigation the team can do. Without criminal charges this is still a he-she said because there is nothing from the police investigation. Perhaps McD should have asked the police to release the tapes, etc.
  4. really bush league journalists.
  5. He really needs to keep it together or grt professional help. I’m glad that as another poster mentioned at least the guys there seemed loose and in good spirits. Perhaps McD needs to see a counselor. He is wound really tight and it seems like something like this could cause a nervous breakdown or something.
  6. interesting thing is that the accusers attorney also says they don’t have the tapes, so this is just his client’s recollection of that call. The tapes will be key.
  7. don’t get my hopes up! I’m beginning to think it OBJ is not signed by the season he likely goes to Rams because he knows their offense. that said, he went to Rams mid season and picked it up quickly.
  8. fn Hostetler. Lost to a backup QB. Just barf. 7 by number 17!
  9. would love him here, but unlikely Phins trade him here. Just hope he stays out of AFC and Tampa.
  10. I agree Poyer situation is interesting. Like if we wait, do we pay him later, hoping the cap goes up? Are we thinking he drops off this year? Are we anticipating trading him mid-season? Are we thinking he's our best now, but won't be in a year or can't afford him, so lets roll with him this year. That is my thought: he's the best we have, play him, but don't want to be tied down long term. However, I don't think Poyer sits out, he has almost no leverage due to his age. If he sits out the season and the Bills secondary does well (it likely does due to the other talent there) that will really hurt him.
  11. I took "biggest season" as most impactful to the team, so I voted for Cook. I think he'll be our rookie MVP as he puts immense pressure on the D and brings the offense to another level (which is an unreal thing to imagine).
  12. also gives us a good look at Elam, Bendford and Jackson, as well as reps in case White or another CB is injured during the season. As great as White is, you need to be able to miss a player like that and keep rolling as a team.
  13. only if he drops the mail! yeah, this isn't Philly here. Booing santa clause and draft picks.
  14. I don't think you qualify as a "good QB" if you can't handle the pressure. It's 100% part of the job description.
  15. will the price drop when the season starts? That could be a strategy since the first game is on national tv?
  16. with Mancz hurt (hopefully not serious), who is backup center?
  17. I understand it takes time, but Basham who is what, 24, was drafted due to being a 4 year starter. He showed nothing last year, Creed Humphry, taken by KC in the 2nd, was a 1st team All-Pro I believe. AJ has shown nothing since he has been here for 2 seasons now. Both have the Bean 2nd round curse, that is hopefully undone by Cook. I hope I'm wrong, and both could put up #'s this year due to Miller's presence, but I don't think either have shown the talent level of Groot for example. If you are a 1st-2nd round pick, you really need to show something in your first 2 years. this
  18. guy looked like a great WR2/3 with that speed. Then, suddenly couldn't catch or run routes, etc. Was very strange.
  19. I'm not sure the ones you named have value (perhaps Lawson?). I could see Epenesa or Basham having some value.
  20. 2nd round seems to have yielded very little so far. I don't think it's too early on Basham or esp. Epenesa. Both were "pro ready" and were/are huge disappointments. Meanwhile, later picked guys like Milano are fantastic. I'd pick the OL in the 5th. Just trade our 2nds. That said, I'm holding out hope for Cook,. and Bahsam/Epenesa to perform better given the attention Miller will get and Oliver's increasingly amazing play.
  21. Edmunds is gone?
  22. with the way Bean drafts in the 1st 2 rounds (esp. the 2nd) compared to later rounds, I'd rather use a 3rd and 5th on OL
  23. terrible pick by Bean, among other recent 2nd round blunders. At least Bean was able to recover something from it. May end up better that it's a 5th and not a 2nd!
  24. where did you live in ohio? Cle entire time?
  25. I’ll actually say Cleveland is nice—particularly in the summer (but don’t tell anyone I said it, it’s a crime here in Pittsburgh!). My brother went to Case Western for a while, cool part of the city. Very close to Buffalo. Often run into fellow Bills fans from Cle in Erie on game day. Good luck with the move!! (even though as @StHustlesaid, you really had to do this on the season opener!!!)
