  1. Here is some high-quality insight into what is likely going on in situations such as Hamlin's. Some speculation as well, albeit from very good sources. https://triblive.com/sports/next-24-hours-critical-to-hamlin-recovery-experts-say/
  2. I understand your sentiment, but how their fans reacted has nothing to do with 2 of their players making dirty hits. It also does not mean that Higgins is dirty. Those two players who made dirty hits should be fined and suspended. The NFL can do this now.
  3. wow. Dude is going to be the Santa of Pgh. Interestingly former NFL player Charlie Batch (also from Pgh) has a charity that does a similar thing (among other things). Perhaps Charlie can help Hamlin out with the logistics of it all.
  4. Glad this game is not being shoved in. But wanting Hamlin to be okay and wanting the 1 seed are not mutually exclusive.
  5. I don’t think it will have that big of an impact. A hit to the chest (assuming that is what caused this and not a preexisting heart issue unrelated to contact) has never caused this in the NFL before. More likely the pads now used in Lax over the chest to prevent heart issues are required on football pads.
  6. If it’s not played I think it goes as a tie or something. That freak hit which never happened before in the NFL could have happened at any point to any player/team.
  7. interesting civilized discussion here, so thanks to you both. Good points in both places. I do know that sports like lacrosse have made equipment stronger to protect heart issues from trauma, but at the same time the sequence of events with standing up, etc, I’m not sure is indicative of that.
  8. Hamlin jersey is a cool idea. Wonder what players get from them? At any rate, would be cool for him to see his jersey as a top seller.
  9. I’d imagine they were. Hope they send/have ptsd counselors for these guys available.
  10. you’re right, this is not the tread for this. Perhaps you should have not have started the discussion by bashing people (it is people making the call at the NFL). Everyone is trying to do their best in this situation which was my point (the people at the league lacked the context of those on the field), it’s a shame some feel the need to try to get angry at others.
  11. Likely the NFL wanted to let them decide. Also, it’s hard to have the proper perspective from a TV. No one saw or could feel what those players did who were right there watching the cpr. Hopefully the Bills, Bengals and/or NFL have PTSD counselors, even if Hamlin is okay some players will need them.
  12. what is wdn? Bills beat the same teams so really lame gif what show/movie is that? looks familar
  13. had tickets close to the sideline ones. Dude is tall and does look like a beast. But doesn't he look thinner in person that you'd expect build wise (not a "broad guy." His body screams 4-3 OLB to me, but you can see how he destroys passing lanes, and perhaps why he gets pushed around by OL.
  14. he may be better off like Dick LeBeau and retire a well regarded DC. Although the bend and don’t break stuff is scaring me. I get your point. But on the other side, your last paragraph could be the motivation for hiring a defensive minded coach who brings in a OC who can focus fully on the offense rather than all the HC tasks.
  15. or the constant weight lofting and supplements, etc.
  16. as someone else pointed out, they really just need a game manager with their roster. 1 stud rookie WR, another stud rookie RB, good defense. They could get a FA QB game manager and draft one with their first if someone is there who they like, if not, (hopefully they do and reach), they could take another good 1st round player. They are not that far off from playoff contention.
  17. the play will degrade, but it will make money so it will happen
  18. ok, the point still stands. If he were in no difference. Humphrey would be a massive improvement on OL.
  19. this. why do we do this every week. Why make it harder than needed.
  20. we have nothing. Drafting has been horrendous. Basham inactive. OL, etc just all around since Allen.
  21. Diggd has zero targets. Awful coaching. Davis just stood there instead if drawing an int.
  22. yeah, none of our usual excuses apply this week. Crappy coaching and crappy execution.
  23. weak not taking timeouts after the sack. at least get ball back and try something.
  24. thats his thing. He sucks
