how far back has he made a correct prediction? At some point his luck runs out, hopefully this year, because it would be very Bills like to make it in 2024, then lose.

Would you resign Edmunds or a tackle?
RyanC883 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
tackle, draft a LB. Edmunds does not make many impactful plays, he's good, not elite. An OT could make the offense consistently elite and allow for the chance to establish a complementary running game and give Allen time to make deep throws, let WRs get open underneath, etc. -
Dawkins, Saffold and Knox added to Pro Bowl

Dawkins and Saffold made it off name recognition. Knox earned it, he flashed--had some great catches. If only Dorsey had a better handle on how to use a TE. -
2023 Offseason Primer: Cap Tickets (Restructure)
RyanC883 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
OL and WR!!! Perhaps a DT if we can trade Oliver. Some decent DTs in FA. -
Thanks, enjoy the dialogue. The BPA thing is difficult. On the one hand, you have the issue you raised: what if it's not a premier position (imagine a kicker who could kick 65 yard FGs routinely, likely BPA, but still...). On the other hand, you have Bean going targeted at positions like DE and drafting Basham over Humphry. Or AJ over Logan Wilson (if you need D), or Van Jefferson or Ersa Cleveland. I think a TE is a premium enough position for me to go BPA if the guy profiles as a game-changer (of course, having an OC who knows how to use his is a different story). Hopefully a great WR or OT falls to us and we don't need to get fleeced trading back. I like the idea of getting an OT and moving Dawkins to guard. Then draft Patterson in the 2nd as the other G who takes over at C when Morse retires. I'm just getting started reading about the prospects, but it does seem to lack high end talent, although does seem to offer a decent amount of OL help, which we sorely need (although no "studs" pop when we pick).
-
def need to draft a G/C. Patterson from ND looks like the perfect fit. Can play G, then move to C. (played C at ND, gave up 0 sacks through Jr. year, can't find Sr. year stats yet.)
-
yep, him and CB Bradberry. yep, him and CB Bradberry.

Cowboys looking for an OC - part ways with Moore

The guy who won games with Cooper Rush is the issue here? I’d take him over Dorsey -
to be clear, I would not like that pick, but I think what is really wrong is not going BPA. He was BPA in that scenario. Ideally the Bills would trade down to grab more picks, then get an OT, Patterson, WRs, etc.

Given the 3 year rule. Analyzing the Bills 2020 draft..
RyanC883 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
with a QB on a rookie contract, this draft was a bust. Diggs was an easy "pick," and as others have pointed out, getting Jefferson would have been better. AJ is what makes this a really busted draft. No way he should have been taken there, and there were many impact players after him. He has not helped this team win games. Another huge miss with Moss. Drafted to be a "power back", but too small to be a power back. Just another Bean blunder. Davis: a good pick, but he's a 3rd WR, not a 2nd. Fromm: like Hodgkins and so many other draft picks seemingly on offense, he was never developed by the coaching staff. Bass: A great pick who is likely a top 5 kicker in the league. Can win close games for us. Hodgins: incomplete. Like other players on offense (Teller), the staff gave up on him, only for him to play out on another team. Jackson: loved the pick, was surprised he made it to the 7th. A good 2nd-3rd CB. The type of player you need to round out a D. that's the problem, no impact from those day 2 guys. Like ZERO impact. Brings it down to a C for me, IMO. Also, AJ was so bad as a rookie, that Bean doubled-down on this poor pick next draft by over drafting Groot and Basham. So many top end OL talent that Bean missed in these two drafts. -
seems like a decent number of OL and DTs on the list. DL ( one of Tomlinson, Ford, Jones, Payne) and at OL (Davis or McGlinchey or McGary), grab one of the safeties also, either Gardner-Johnson or Bell. you can, but Dorsey does not appear to know how to handle RB and TEs.
-
would have to get War in FA. I didn’t want to just draft a WR over BPA. Mayer makes the passing offense better if Dorsey figures out how to call/design plays. He’s also a great blocker.
-
yeah could only use what the simulator gives. If we take Mayer and don’t throw to him and Knox I’d lose it. Need a RB eventually as Singletary is gone. Try the sim yourself, interested to see your thoughts! I agree. Was no No 2 WR left at that point. He was the closest thing.

we don’t have a team with guys who have hat competitive fire. was evident in loss to Cincy. I didn't mean storming goff the field.
-
for sure. I mean with that competitive fire. Few guys seemed to have that in the game outside of Diggs, Knox, Milano, and Allen. The rest of them looked stunned/defeated.
-
why not? we lost to them with a lesser QB. They have a STUD at WR in Wilson. Have a great D.
-
Post em' here. I'll start: 27. Michael Mayer TE Notre Dame (BPA, 2 TE sets will be crazy. Great catcher, great blocker.). 59. Jarrett Patterson OG Notre Dame (best C in draft. Can also play G.) 91. Israel Abanikanda RB Pittsburgh (need another RB, perhaps too similar to Cook?) 128. Wanya Morris OT Oklahoma (OT is a need, got a strong one here) 135. Keeanu Benton DT Wisconsin (I know nothing about him. Needed a DT, and was BPA based on the Pro Football Network simulator) 160. Garrett Williams CB Syracuse (very athletic CB. Ball hawking, run-supporting).
-
if the Jets sign Rodgers, they beat us twice, IMO (assuming RB Hall is back to full health).
-
also could be that Frazier has not put him in a position to be effective. He seems more of an OLB to me, and gets washed out by blockers rather easily. could Edmunds be moved to DE?
-
I'm glad Diggs is brining attention to this issues this team has. Give me 10 more guys like him. Bean seems to love his fire.

With Oliver Value Goes Beyond the Stat Line
RyanC883 replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
i get this, but there are threads on this forum with (X) player was hurt all year. Every player gets banged up. Every team that is left has players banged up. Perhaps Oliver was more than others, but it's getting tiring at this point. I think he was a huge miss at No. 9. He's never been someone the O has to account for because he is too small. -
Your Offseason Upgrades to the OLine
RyanC883 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
draft Patterson from ND (G/C); or Tipperman from Wisconsin (G/C); and Bergeron (OT-Syr) or Wright (OT-Tenn) or Kirkland (OT/G-Washington). I'd def want Patterson, who allowed 0 sacks through his Jr. year, then would target Kirkland if available, then Bergeron (who played R and L OT) and Wright. Come out of there with one of the G/C and one or two of the OTs. Trade back into the second if there is no top WR in the 1st, and Robinson (RB) is not available. Here is how it could look: LT - Dawkins LG - Patterson/Bottegger backup C- Morse, Patterson backup Bates or draft pick RG - Bates (competes with draft pick Kirkland if he is the OT pick) RT - Brown (competes with draft pick Bergeron/Wright/Kirkland) Line should be improved. I'd be open for a FA, but likely costs too much and would rather get WR or LB to replace Edmunds. -
if we can let both go without dead cap that may be the best thing to do. We can draft someone who can return kicks, and also draft another RB. Use the cap savings on WR, OL. you'll get downvoted for this, but he profiles as the rare back that is a do it all game changer (although I would not trade up for him).

Franchise in trouble- Josh Allen has regressed
RyanC883 replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
agreed. particularly when spending assets on D gets you Basham, overrated Groot (a good complementary DE), and AJ. -
Bills Coaching Staff Changes Thread
RyanC883 replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
what’s a poor way to have a conversation is attacking posters you disagree with. But keep at it. The DL was awful—all year. And the injury excuses are weak. The Bengals OL was more injured and we generated NOTHING against it. Teams ran on us at will all year, and we likely lose to MIA if their starting RB was available (really twice, MIA and GB inexplicably stopped running in those regular season games). But keep enjoying the status quo and early playoff exits. What are the excuses for the last few years? Would love to hear them. Eagles: Fire SB winning HC. Return to NFC Championship game soon thereafter.
