  1. getting some OL and WR help will push Allen tremendously up the MVP ranks.
  2. perhaps not having to do it all himself will equate to fewer turnovers? would like a short yardage back at some point also. later in the draft.
  3. I disagree here. The Eagles player held, but: (1) the ball was so overthrown it didn't matter; (2) no holding was called all game until then. That game was great until then, after that, it was like a TV series you watch that is great, and the terrible series finale ruins it (looking at you Lost)
  4. Agree that Allen should have the Bills (if just looking at QBs) in the top 3, (actually 2, him and Mahomes are the best 2). The bolded: bad assumption based on our GM's prior performances!
  5. I thought most of the board liked last year's show? https://nz.finance.yahoo.com/news/rihanna-did-not-paid-jaw-162139161.html the show is a huge free Ad for the artist.
  6. the NFL chooses whoever will do it for free (they don't get paid); which is why it's generally hard to get a good performance. This year, we get someone who took a 5 year break from music and is using the halftime show to regenerate her career. The "positive press" is likely being fed by her PR team.
  7. I enjoy this dialogue, but to me it was more than "the bounces" against Cincy this year, and the week before, almost lost to a team starting a rookie QB. The defensive scheme and/or personnel is not up to the task over multiple playoff losses, and the offensive weapons (OL and WR room in particular) and play calling are subpar. Can we close the gap: absolutely. But right now, there is a decent sized gap in the playoffs. you also had JuJu, Creed Humphrey, Hardiman, then Tooney, and Bolton is good. You reloaded better. Allen is important, but you can't win it by yourself. Sure, we can make the playoffs with him year in and out, but will never get to that next level without a team around him. Neither team in this SB was "all QB".
  8. GM should be on the hot seat. Cap issues, and poor drafting to get impact players on rookie contracts. Also horrid at acquiring FA OL. Knox >> Rosseau and Cook.
  9. nothing's "always" true, but in this case, the quote is vastly more true than not. KC and Philly both have better rosters, GMs, and coaches. KC didn't luck it's way into 2 wins in the past 4 years.
  10. Bingo. We have missed on key draft picks (Oliver, AJ, Boogie, Groot-great #2 DE, not a guy you take at 19), and are in a bad cap situation. KC lost its top WR, brought in a bunch of actual #2 WRs (didn't simply "hope" that a guy with 3 good games would sustain an entire season like that), a playmaker WR on a rookie contract, and drafted well at OL and LB (Humphrey and Bolton).
  11. I believe there is also a quote about luck by Thomas Jefferson to the effect of: those who work the hardest (in the NFL, that would be having the best players and coaches) get the most luck. Last night the Eagles D in the second half played basically our D, and the results were predictable. Our roster is not complete, and we have missed on impact players to put around JA and to rush the other QB in the draft, and as another poster indicated, we do not get the most out of our talent with our playoff coaching (playing soft zone with Elam as a CB, etc.). Luck plays a part, but far from the determining factor.
  12. Could be, but it’s more like watching a great TV series and then it has a garbage ending (no holding called until then!). That’s what the holding call was for me.
  13. hey, I said fined, not beheaded! how’d you edit that!!
  14. their GM is better than Bean. That’s a major difference.
  15. ref crews need to be fined for calls like that.
  16. 2nd KC player we should have drafted. They owe us a thank you card.
  17. you have to call consistently. There are holds on tons of plays. None were called until that point.
  18. Good points, but Eagles D went soft, playing off, although KC took full advantage as you noted. And the KC O-line is really good. But that call at the end and that Hurts gift were the game, IMO.
  19. these are the best offseason threads, (except for my attempt at Friday mock-draft threads ;))
  20. You make good points, and I appreciate the reply and info. I just don't have an issue with people becoming really rich pushing Jesus (and I'm not an Evangelist), but I totally get your points. 👍
  21. this one gets a big ** from me. Hurts gifting KC a TD, Refs gifting KC inability to come back. Really coaching didn't stand out today.
  22. they did let the Chiefs back in. One of my friends texted me they looked like the Bills letting someone come back with bizarre plays. But I'd be angry at the Refs also. Bingo.
  23. agree with all those points, but I think that KC will be just fine without Reid. They'll find someone who can get WRs open like that. When you have a good OL that can create time you get WRs open. I'd give the MVP to the Eagles OL (I know, has to be one person, and only once has gone to losing team). That said, no single player really stood out all game. Mahomes is a lazy pick (QB on winning team).
  24. eh, I dislike KC slightly more. Travis Kelce has to be one of the cockiest players to ever play. He's infinitely more classless than the Eagles coach, who in the example you cite likely got into an argument likely with a cocky position coach who questioned Nick because he's young. I also hate poor officiating deciding games.
  25. would love an OL like the Eagles have. They are not in the game without it. Converting 3 and 4th and shorts. That 2-point conversion. Just wow.
