  1. Anyone know if Flutie Flakes are worth anything? I've still got four unopened boxes.
  2. He had a high motor though.
  3. I completely agree. But guess who absolutely had to have Miami in the same division? Wilson thinking with his Johnson again. If he really cared about Buffalo he would have pushed for what you said here. It didn't help the team IMO and it sounds as if you agree with that.
  4. I agree with you in that I could never be a fan of another team the way that I've been with the Bills. I think that a large part of that is how the game has changed though. I'm also not sure that growing up today I would be a fan of the Bills, even if I were born in Buffalo. I don't know, just sayin'. But a lot of fans have already thrown in the towel on Wilson's watch though. They/we are simply waiting for ownership of the team to change and then to make our decisions on what our status as fans is. If they move, for most of us that's it. For the same reason that I will never have a replacement NFL team to be a fan of, I will not follow the team if it plays in another city. I'll still watch football though, it just wouldn't be the same. Even in these dark days there is hope that someone at OBD will pull their head out of their a$$ and cry foul and that something will eventually change to bring respectable play back to Buffalo. Notice I didn't even say winning, I simply said respectable play, which we don't even have or have had for years. You said "if they have another year," but many of us said that last year, or the year before, or even before that. This might be the year though that that happens. Seems like every year they win a game early or several before losing most of the rest and playing poorly while doing it, or that they win a bunch against easy beaten teams later in the season to give just enough hope to some fans. But this year they have four tough games to start the season and it seems unlikely that they'll have a winning streak later in the season. So if they start 0-4 and don't have a three game winning streak elsewhere, then maybe this will be the final straw for you too.
  5. It's a real shame that most of the people that run the team don't feel the same and fit that description, otherwise we might actually have a decent and well managed team that they would take some pride in and make changes when it shamed their management of it. Even Wilson isn't from Buffalo and everyone questions his real loyalty to this team. Modrak isn't from Buffalo. Is Majeski? Anyone know? Buddy Nix also has no roots in B-Lo. He was along for the ride as the wheels began to come off the wagon in the late 90s but after that, nothing. Modkins and Edwards aren't, neither is Gailey as I believe that this is his first time even living in NY State. Gailey has a lot closer roots to the Fins of all teams. There are no roots here by anyone significant that shapes what the Bills do today. They're all in it purely for the money and not earning what they're getting paid for. So why are so many so loyal to those guys wanting to give them benefits of the doubt and all that? What's next after these guys fail, hiring a coach from one of the D-III schools in the state and a D coordinator from the Pop Warner ranks and an O coordinator from some NYS high school? The ones that deserve a benefit of the doubt are us fans, those running this team shouldn't take us for granted like they do, and if anything those running the team should give us the benefit of the doubt that we won't be back if this continues and do something real and serious about the problem, which is them. But they know that there's no real threat there. Wilson won't do that though. But hey, he's not one of us now, is he. I agree with your statement, but it's not the fans that are the problem.
  6. Kind of ironic that when they showed Wilson and Levy there wasn't a single pic of Polian. Don't you think?
  7. Because in a sport that most American males really like, I too liked it and the Bills were the professional team in my area so that I became a fan. At one point, the late '80s to be precise, and into the '90s, the Bills were a well run team that win or lose was enjoyable to watch play. It goes without saying that winning was preferred, but even in a loss there was hope and the team did not embarrass itself or me much less make me a fool for trusting them. This occurred a mere less than 20 years after the formation of the current NFL and before there was much basis for comparison amongst NFL franchises. But after firing a GM that built that team up to going to three straight Super Bowls, really four on residuals, it's been a downhill slide ever since. I am still a fan, but just like no self-respecting male would put up with a perpetually cheating GF or wife, neither do I put up with such poor and negligent management of an NFL team that I am a fan of. I still love my team, but just as I would have no desire to watch my children shoot up with heroin and ruin their lives, neither do I have any desire to watch such agonizing and reprehensible management and coaching resulting in such abysmal performance of my team on the field. Today as the team stands, I have too much respect for myself to lower myself to watching too much of what this team provides.
  8. He could be the next Chris Johnson or the next Darren McFadden or anything in between.
  9. Looks like NFL hell too.
  10. Who cares who's seen Clemson games. You want to try to convince us that you sat around last year watching Clemson games? It's all on youtube. Spiller is a kick returning machine. He catches very well out of the backfield. But he's not a great rusher. He had a monster rushing game against GA Tech, but they sucked defensively. He had one or two more good rushing games against more nothing defenses, but after that he didn't really do too much running the ball. So yeah, if you just log onto youtube and see a "best of" reel, sure, you might get the impression that he was some kind of monster rusher, but look at his game logs, there's nothing impressive there. Who cares what he did against Wake Forest, GA Tech, and FSU, their Ds all sucked. Do you think he'll be facing defenses like that this year? We'll see, but I'm not expecting much in the rushing dept. And if he can't run the ball, his value is limited as a RB and otherwise. I mean how badly did we really need a KR?
  11. I don't see anything prolific in there. He was ranked 25th in yards last year and 46th in ypc. That's hardly prolific. It's actually less than average for top schools. Let's give the kid credit for what he does well, which is return kicks. But we already have McKelvin for that and it's not as if our kick returns have sucked over the past few years or anything. McKelvin can't play CB worth a crap so he may as well be a F/T KR. Spiller's also good catching passes, but as a pure runner, who cares how many yards he had in four years. His ypc got less as he became a Sr. too. We'll see, but he was not a prolific rusher at Clemson. You won't find many scouts that agree with you on that.
  12. This stuff is easy to say since we don't have a choice, right. Then anyone that disagrees can be shunned and slammed or whatever. But the reality is that this team should be renamed the Buffalo Benefits of the Doubt. These clowns have no more chance of succeeding than their predecessors, maybe less. I mean let's be real, Modkins? Edwards? If we actually had a choice, would we really choose Gailey, Modkins, and Edwards? Anyone saying yes is lying through their teeth. Either way, we're stuck. The only choices are how much of your money you're going to spend watching the team's next experiment.
  13. Actually, we once again have a decent chance to have another draft bust. So far all that Spiller has proven is that he can return kicks and catch balls. It's not as if he's some sort of prolific rusher. But we don't have a QB to get him the ball well and we have kick returners coming out of our ears.
  14. We'll see how Spiller and Troupe work out too. One thing's for sure, they don't play QB. I think it was stupid and irresponsible to pass on Claussen too, especially in round 2.
  15. What's the difference between what "the talking heads" say and what the eternally optimistic here say?
  16. Sheeet! I would kill for the Bills to be ousted in the Wild Card round at this point.
  17. I've been bitter since they keep taking retreads and retards and inexperienced coaches and GMs and trying to tell us what great moves they are.
  18. I'm not either. It was a great run, with a better coach we'd have won one or two of those, especially the Giants game, and the team probably did more with what it had than other teams competing at that level. The Cowboys were stocked, we were solid, but didn't have their talent. Either way, we put up our best and lost. That's better than continually putting up garbage and thinking that we're going to win. If there's a reason for fans to be bitter it's what's gone on since then, not because of then.
  19. LOL You talking to the Steeler fans for that second one?
  20. Thanks, but as you say, it's simply the truth. It really doesn't do much for me to think that Bills fans actually behave like that. And notice, not one response, the same garbage will continue on other threads in perpetuity. I guess OTOH there isn't really a whole lot to discuss these days regarding the Bills. Many fans that I talk to seem to be feeling like cheap whores these days.
  21. You wanna know why more people, intelligent ones too, don't post here? It's exactly because of threads like this one. One guy who's a fan of a team that has absolutely no right to be criticizing the team's critics calls someone an idiot for posting a pretty accurate piece. I doubt the guy gets paid much if anything at all, he puts his time to write the piece after doing his research or just knows what's going on because he's a fan, and all everyone can do is point out some spelling and grammar mistakes and call the guy an idiot. Meanwhile, people that want to perhaps interact about the content of the piece are labelled trolls and called other names and made fun of and put down. Yeah, really wants to make people that just enjoy the game want to come here and discuss the Bills, doesn't it.
  22. No, not at all. I don't read or post much, but what I find to be very interesting is how people here whose predictions are constantly off and have been for years call others idiots for simply telling it like it is. Shouldn't you be calling them out for busting on the guy who is likely more right than they are? And honestly, this is a repeating thing, so if that guy's an "idiot," then what does it make everyone calling him an idiot after the fact if he is, again, right, and they're wrong? Seems to me it really makes them the real idiots, wouldn't you say? Of course no one here will say that they're assessments were way off even after the fact. Everyone just continues on like they're some sort of genius. Perhaps if Bills fans quit putting up with this garbage the team would be forced to do something real besides hire a bunch of retreads with even fewer credentials than the last batch. Yeah, I know, we all owe them the benefit of the doubt. Sure. Who was it, Einstein that said doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result was the definition of insanity. Maybe they ought to call this place the assylum. Either way, calling people that are likely right an "idiot," doesn't say much for those calling them idiots. And is there any reason why the merits of the guy's opinion cannot be discussed instead of with one fell swoop the guy being called an idiot for putting up a pretty solid analysis, even if it was poorly written with typos and stuff?
  23. You know what's funny, is that for years everyone here talked about how great the same players that are now passe were gonna be. Lynch was gonna prove all of his character issues unfounded and be a breakaway RB. You all put your faith in Bill Walsh's assessment of Edwards. McCargo was going to be a machine. James Hardy was going to light up the NFL. We can go on and on and let's not forget how players like Bledsoe, Vincent, Milloy and others were going to bring back respect to Now it's how Spiller is going to revolutionize the NFL and Troupe is going to be the bomb on D. The only thing missing here is admissions of how wrong we've all been for ten years.
  24. Says who, one of the people that's been saying the same thing this time of year for how many straight seasons now? Looks like a pretty damn spot on assessment to me.
