Fitz's Inaccuracy A Problem Going Forward?
Ronin replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you think that any of the game plans have been good? I mean think about it, we haven't played anything close yet to a solid 4 quarters of good football all the way around. Our D's gotten kicked all over the field in the last three games and if it hadn't been for Brady having had a bad hair day that would have been a disaster. Cincy, with a rookie QB? Really? Oakland's two no-name WR lit us up like a Christmas tree. I think this team still has a lot of work to do and isn't much better than last year's despite the record at present. -
Fitz's Inaccuracy A Problem Going Forward?

Fitz's Inaccuracy A Problem Going Forward? No, but he's not Rodgers or Brady either. He's a decent QB but not one that's going to do those special things. He started strong out of the gate last year too before collapsing down the stretch. IMO expectations are way too high for him. That's what happens when you start like this though. -
Well that's fine, but they haven't beaten a decent defense yet. At the end of the year the Patriot D will be average, at best, and a lot of that is only statistically because their offense is so good and consumes so much time and forces many teams into a predictable pattern of throwing, otherwise they'll be worse. Cincy was probably the best D we've played and our offense sucked. The defense was responsible for one of only two TDs today. 13 points, against Cincy. Really! Yes, I did, and except for Cincy falling apart briefly at the end of the second Q, we sucked.

... rather then maybe thinking that this team shot its load by barely beating the Raiders, a very mediocre team, KC, a nothing team, and by finally beating the Pats, but not by defense, only because of offense against a mediocre Patriot D and by Brady having had a terrible and uncharacteristic horrible day? ... while still putting up huge amounts of points by any team's standards? Couldn't it just be that this Bills team is a little lucky like the team in '08 or '03, up front, but really isn't that good? I mean it's not like it's really loaded with proven talent, it isn't.

If we keep playing like this, correct, and we'll be 6-10 or 7-9 again at the end of the season too. We very easily could have been 1-3 right now.
-
LOL The defense was exposed when Jason Campbell, Denarius Moore, and Derek Hagan ripped them apart as if they were Montana, Rice, and Taylor. If Brady hadn't had an uncharacteristic 4 INTs then they'd have put up 50 again. The defense has sucked all season except v. KC, who seems to be this year's S&M recipient team.

Yeah, what else is good ole Marv going to enlighten us to, that Buffalo sits on Lake Erie. I don't suppose he'll explain why when during the half-time of the second Dallas Super Bowl while Jimmy Johnson was over in his lockerroom throwing chairs and busting heads Marv was over in ours putting the players to sleep by reading poetry or whatever **** he was doing. Nice to see Marv using Wilson as an excuse for his failed "the future is now" we're not rebuilding, ... oh wait, ... yes we are approach to managing. The only competent non-player to ever have graced the Bills' organization for any length of time was Polian and Wilson fired him whereupon immediately after Levy went down the sh!tter.

No more Bills Radio Network for Albany, NY

Why is it that when fans here say something it's dismissed and they're called names and it's suggested that they're not real fans, but when Easterbrook says it all of a sudden it's word? Is there really that little independent thought here? ... never mind, don't answer that. [Not necessarily directed at you either, more of a general statement] I agree that a simple article means nothing, but you cannot step over the mound of evidence that this team isn't going anywhere any time soon. Langston Walker was an overpaid bust. But who signed him for that? We did, many of the same guys in the front office now. It was idiocy at the time and remains idiocy still. Yet, he was still better than anything we currently have at T. Edwards was a losing QB too, but his point about the contract was valid. And until Fitzpatrick regularly puts up better numbers than Edwards, and significantly better ones, not just 4 more TDs per season, he's not much better. He's definitely right about Evans being one of the Bills most established performers. And if QBing wasn't the problem, or coaching, then why didn't Steve Johnson do a dam thing for two seasons? No WR goes from catching an average of 6 catches for 56 yards, and 2 catches for 10 yeards the season before, to being a 1,000-yard WR because he "developed" in the offseason. That means that there was talent there to begin with but it either wasn't recognized or the team didn't have the QB to make use of it, or a combination of the two.

You know it's funny, every year fans of the team rise and set like the sun. It's all gung ho, anyone that can't waste their money watching B-grade football isn't a fan, but you know what's the most hilarious thing about it, come November, if not earlier, the people bitching the loudest and uttering the most &^#%ing's will be people such as those that started this thread and those that "are gonna show everyone what it means to be a 'real fan'." LOL It's like clockwork. You guys go from this mode into full-blown psycho mode at the end of the season making the critics today seem like optimists still hopeful that the Bills can make the playoffs from 3-12. It's good humor though. At least as Bills fans we get some entertainment, ... even if it is at the expense of the ones like you. Keep chatterin' though, ... makes it all the more amusing later on.

YAWN How original.

It would be nice if his speed turned at least some plays into long gains. Possible that his speed isn't so "speedy" in the NFL?
-
LOL
-
Well, it looks like he lost it. LOL
-
What's wrong with him? ... he's a slob.
-
You mean "the no Wons."
-
LOL

They need to get him into space. Translation: If he has a 10-yard crease around him when he first gets the ball he'll get some yards. Why should he need a line? Wasn't the biggest asset he had open-field speed and moves? Since when does that require a line? OLs don't shift outside as a collective when the ball is thrown out that way. Otherwise, shouldn't he be capable of doing at least what Lynch did behind the same line UTM? He had 74 carries and did less with them than Lynch did w/ his 37 or however many he had. He ran like Shaud Williams used to.

The Bills record against the Patriots say it all...

I agree with you entirely. It seems that it has been ingrained into the organization to try to "out-trick" or "out-connive" our opponents rather than simply find the talent to take them on H2H and get the job done. This is a post-Polian Wilson era thing. Nothing will change until there is a new owner. I don't think that Gailey's going to be around much after next season either. He took a team that was at least capable of winning 6 or 7 games each season and led it to its worst record since Kelly's first season other than Greg Williams' first season where he went 3-13. Gailey needs to go .500 before he can claim any improvement, and he'll need to win 10 games before he can claim any significant improvement. Cutting Evans was not a good move to help him achieve this. And suppose for a second that Johnson gets hurt? We're f'n screwed.

There's an interesting word coming out of Bills camp
Ronin replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Johnson and Jackson were pretty explosive last season, don't you think? I'm also expecting Dareus to be very explosive. Maybe it's nothing more than a new buzzword, hearing "high motor" about guys that never do jack gets really old, so from the standpoint of not hearing about how any of our guys have high motors, it's refreshing as a starter to that extent. I expect similar explosiveness from Jackson and Johnson this season, and Dareus too. -
By the end of the season he'll have cemented himself as nothing more than a role-playing backup on this team. What that's worth in any fantasy league is relative pending a variety of factors. I expect Dareus to cement himself as one of the league's top DTs.

Starks is hardly a sleeper. He'll be gone in every credible league by the early 3rd at the latest.
