  1. He hasn't proven that he can do anything. He played one season for Monmouth College, some weak I-AA team and he had 12 catches for 147 yards and 3 TDs. We're what, his 4th NFL team? I think it's amazing that he's even on an NFL team. He'll be a 5th tops, what's all this talk about him taking time from Woods? What's next, Dixon replacing Jackson. Or how about Dennis Dixon starting for us at QB.
  2. The reason why everyone has to keep saying that is because of poor planning when there are better QBs available. For example, most recently, instead of just doing something else with our draft last season, we have to reach and force a QB out of the draft instead of taking another player and either trying to get Manuel in round 2 and allowing us to take a QB in round 1 this season. Just one example. GMs get paid to have a vision and a plan for rebuilding, but ours never do.
  3. http://www.wgrz.com/story/sports/nfl/future-of-the-bills/2014/08/04/bills-sale-nda-bon-jovi-trump/13606473/ "I think they've backfired on Morgan Stanley, the firm representing the Wilson estate. I think the NDA is a big reason why there are only three bids that we know of to this point," Benigni said. "I think it's a major factor for Tom Golisano, for example, for holding back his bid. And as a result, they've extended the deadline to accept new bids from that original July 29th date. The estate wanted a bidding war, and so far they've failed to create one." I'm wondering why they wanted a bidding war, it makes it sound as if it's going to the highest bidder. This thing really is turning into a circus though. Another article, the best written that I've seen on the trust, talked about how the stringency of the NDA would repel bidders. The guys orchestrating this are experts with trusts and these kinds of things. Why they would desire a bidding war and yet create an NDA that deters would be bidders from getting involved makes it seem like the whole thing is being run by amateurs.
  4. How does Manuel get ranked ahead of Alex Smith? Judging by this guy's pic, I'm wondering if he didn't sit down and go thru about a quarter ounce of weed before writing this piece.
  5. Buffalo has the smallest TV market in the entire league. This has been my point all along, it would take a new owner, assuming that he makes that much, 2%, every year, and it hasn't nearly been the case in past season as in 2012 I think it was only $12.7M or around there, which is much less, but it would take 50 years to recoup that investment. So as investments go, this is why few bidders were interested. It's going to take a guy like Trump who cares more about being in the limelight, or Pegula, who has sentimental interests, to bid and bid high. Also, until the news comes out that the trust has the option of not necessarily selling to the highest bidder, I'm going to be somewhat cautious with any optimism about the team selling to an owner that would definitely keep the team here, which seems to be only Pegula.
  6. Boy, you're really steppin' out there, we were second last year. We may lead the league in rushing yards on both sides if that pathetic performance against the Giants was any indication. A hurry-up offense is not good news for a defense that can't stop the run.
  7. The Fins may be the only team against which we will be favored.
  8. Uhh, I think that anyone understands what he said. The same excuses are conveniently recycled from season to season. Notice how they're saying about Manuel that he looked "calm and under control" or something like that, formerly known as "poised." Problem is that "poised" wore out its welcome during Edwards brief tenure here. That word here associated with Manuel would be more associated with negatives than positives. We can argue and bicker amongst each other, but it's clear that Manuel was a terrible draft pick and that he's going nowhere in the NFL now. The only difference is that some see that now while it's going to take it being completely obvious after the fact, like it was with Fitzpatrick and Edwards too, before they figure it out.
  9. No mention of Watkins getting all but shut down by Amukamara? It's my belief that Watkins, who faced very few top CBs in college is going to struggle more than anyone here wants to let on. My point is not that he'll suck or anything, but I think that the expectations on both him as rookie as well as what he'll do for the team are both unreasonable.
  10. All we need now is a video tour of driving down Niagara Falls Blvd. on the north end.
  11. Would you say he looked "poised?" I've noticed that few people are using that term. I guess it ran its course a few years ago. LOL
  12. How the hell's an offensive lineman supposed to get the arms of a LB that's 10 yards away down? ... or a DE that's dropped into coverage? Otherwise, when the ball's thrown at helmet/head level, I don't think that arms are an issue.
  13. Well, what we do know is that we couldn't beat a single team that had a passing offense ranked in the top 17 last season, and the Bears ranked 5th last season and it's difficult to see them sliding much.
  14. In this era of Bills football, bring some good painkillers and a flask of scotch. JK, ... have a great time!!
  15. "He didn't mean it, nobody's gayer than Brady." LOL That was hilarious.
  16. What an overreaction by people reporting this. Could anyone even tell the next day that the guy's grave was pissed on? How many graves are pissed on by animals? Two years in jail for pissing on a grave? Glad I'm not young anymore, I'd be locked up for life given my past.
  17. Strangely though, neither Spiller nor Brown have been or are any good on 3rd downs and Jacksons aging like a fine wine. I don't see any reason why this will improve. Dixon ain't gonna get it done. We have no 3rd-down RB after Jackson, who can't be counted on for a full season, not on every play like that anymore.
  18. Nah, I've been upset for years. I don't know how any fan of this team could be anything but upset at this point. Good for you if you're satisfied with the current state of affairs. You sound like the lot of those around RP McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, the guys that were happy with their circumstances in the assylum. I was simply pointing out the obvious stupidity and ignorance of our fearless leader, the one that everyone keeps saying is the next up and coming brainchild in the NFL. Sorry, but it's stuff like this that steps all over that.
  19. It's always so refreshing to hear a supposed professional make such a comparison to another player. For starters he's wrong and it should have taken him about 30 seconds on his i-phone to validate his thoughts. Roethlisburger threw 22 or more times 5 times in his rookie season, not four like the editor's note says, but five. Otherwise we don't have a good defense and for sure not one as good as Pittsburgh had. Theirs was ranked 1st in both scoring and yardage in 2004 and 3rd in scoring and 4th in yardage in '05. Ours was ranked 10th in yards and an irreconcilable 20th in scoring last season, hardly anywhere close to equal. But here we have a highly paid GM that can't even afford 2 minutes to do a small bit of research before opening his mouth to look like the fool that he is, and we expect from him in the offseason? Sounds to me like he doesn't really know what this new up and coming GM is doing. If he does, then he's sure faking that he doesn't.
  20. I also don't think that Whaley understands how much better a QB Roethlisburger was in college and how he was a legitimate 11th overall selection unlike Manuel. All Whaley has now is talk. He's teetering on the precipice of irrelevancy. If he's wrong he's finished, so he may as well talk up a storm, it's all he has.
  21. I can't believe that Whaley lowered himself to making such ridiculous statements. Oh wait, yes I can.
  22. This thread is funny. If Jaws had said something exceptional about Manuel everyone would be all over it and talking about how Jaws knows his stuff.
  23. LOL Kinda the opposite of the get two free Super Bowl tix with the purchase of a pencil for $2,000. Just be happy that they didn't try to weasel out a 10-point inspection on your wife.
  24. I'd say that Monroe Ave. is more the Chippewa, no? Either way, the Strath isn't that far from the stuff on Monroe Ave. either, and East Ave. downtown where Richmonds is. LOL on the peeler bar. BTW FluffHead, if no one has mentioned it, the High Falls is also a cool place. Last time I was down there there were a bunch of close eateries. The view of the falls is excellent and in the summers they used to have a laser show at dusk, not sure if they still do that.
