Yes, agreed, kickers are a weird bunch. He could go somewhere else and with a new start could be great. Why haven't they brought in other kickers?

Honestly, I think the plan is to retool next year. This year they shed a lot of salary cap and will take a step back. The only way they don't step back is if Josh has an MVP type year.

You definitely make some good points. Our Offense didn't show up against the Bengals last year though. I also think that with a better offensive mind, we beat KC last year. We have a great quarterback, why not get an offensive mind like Andy Reid and let him hire a D coordinator. Play to our strength, which is Josh. This being said, I think KC's defense is the reason they won the Super Bowl. I think Mahomes is getting way too much credit for this championship. They do not beat the Ravens if it wasn't for a great defensive performance. Mahomes threw a very bad pick on their own side of the 50, and the defense held them pointless. I know many 31 year old men who are faster than 29 and 30 year old men. Some players are just faster. Yes, it's possible for Simmons to be faster. Being carved up my Mahomes is not a good reason to just give up on all experienced safeties. So did our linebackers and corners. It's Mahomes!! You're right, we did get somewhat younger at corner except Douglas is not young. He's going to get paid, or he will be gone. All you did was prove they were not as good as they were touted. They are a bit slow and were never able to keep up with the faster receivers. Just because they were not up to the task doesn't mean the Bills shouldn't give Simmons a shot. And younger and cheaper improves us how? If we go by your standard, why not just go with young and cheap corners as well? Young and cheap only works when the drafting is very good, which the Chiefs have done. The Bills have done okay, but not great in that area.

They were not all-pro last year. They were clearly playing hurt and in decline. They were never coming back this year and McD knew it.

You can't help but root for the guy. It's a shame what happened to him. I think he understands that the NFL is a business and that the Bills had little choice but to move on from him. I wish him nothing but success, except when the Bills play him.

It was smart that Houston did not bring him back to play in any games. They chose to sit him, which only made his stock rise. They really took the Browns to the cleaners on this one. I feel sorry for Browns fans. They deserve better.
