  1. The title says it all for me. Newton, Darius, Gabbert, Miller . . . two of them will still be on the board when the Bills pick. Some fans want one more than another, but I think all four will be good players for the Bills. I would rather have Miller or Darius, but I wont be unhappy with any one. I also think the Bills will get a good talent at #34. It is almost like a late 1st round pick it is so high !!
  2. I agree with the poster that wondered why Modrak still has a job. Also, Ralph should back off. It is his sandbox, but time shows he isn't good at this. I say let Nix and Gailey work it out. I wouldnt even let Modrak grade them.
  3. 2011 3 linemen, 1st, 3rd, 4th and then we just might be okay for a bit
  4. Spiller might be having adjustment problems, but no way does his trade value drop to 3rd - 4th round. The Bills would have to pay the bus fare for Maybin. McKelvin would be worth a 3rd. He starts quite a bit, and we have a good secondary. It was made to look poor by a weak front seven. Not sure we could get a 3rd or 4th for Evans at this point . . . okay, maybe a 4th. Some people seem to think Whitner is okay but lacks flash because of our defensive scheme and his role in it. I wouldn't let him go for less than a 3rd. Wood would get a mid-late 1st or high 2nd. He is a very solid starter that will get even better. His leg seems fine. btw, I would not let Spiller, Wood or McKelvin go.
  5. I like this one.
  6. This article link is by a guy named Wes Bunting. Bleacher Report has a short profile on him, which lists Sports Management Worldwide as his school/training. Google that organization and what you find is a scam report. Apparently, it is a fly-by-night diploma mill. So, all-in-all, this Wes Bunting guy knows about as much as . . . well, us.
  7. Also, this team sorely needs an identity. A strong defense would be a start to having one, as in people not wanting to play Buffalo, especially in Buffalo, because the defense is intense. You all know the stadium rocks!!
  8. I think it is because he really only played one full year as a starter. People are afraid of the "One Year Wonder" after Maybin.
  9. I don't quite get this, although it is a popular enough opinion on the board. If he isn't going to be productive, then, like all players, he should be cut to make room for a productive player. But the Bills paid a heavy price for him. I would hate to let him go before his first contract is up, sure he is a bust. I don't want to cut him out of spite. And I'm certainly not happy about it.
  10. Has a CB ever gone #1?
  11. Ummm . . . except for the whole no football for another year thing.
  12. Our biggest need is ILB, but the players that will be there at #3 are DT, DE, S/CB, QB, WR, and OLB. What to do, what to do . . .
  13. Let's see how they all look with a great defense coming at them. Does anyone remember what it looked like: 3rd and 7 with Bruce coming off the edge? Give me Darius or Bowers. Add an ILB. Have Moats be what he might be (think Talley). And that D was good, not great. Our defense has been horrid for years. We make those QB's look good. Everyone says we need an identity. Well, defense wins championships.
  14. I agree with this word for word. You have described Fitz perfectly. Your take on drafting a QB is correct - a franchise guy or nothing. Now we could add an aging vet for the #2 QB that is cheap, not a couple draft picks cheap. I mean a cut vet we sign for one million a season. But I see no need to get Palmer.
  15. Peterson. Yeah. And then we wouldn't be able to stop the run next year either. I just hope they fix this defensive front 7. Get two for the front 7 in rounds one and two. Then in rounds three and four get a RT and a QB. And they will probably have to draft another QB next year, too. After that, with Fitz and two new QBs, one of them should be able to play.
  16. So the thread is now about taking a QB, Newton, at #3. The Bills absolutely HAVE to hit with this pick, this year. This can not be another miss. It just cant be. Given that, do you take Newton #3? No. They can't. It has too much risk. They have to make the safer, surer, DL pick. They just have to.
  17. I've been reading a couple different posts this morning. This post and the one on LB by dave mcbride are really good ones. Taken together, I've changed my mind about the viability of taking a LB at #3. I still think they Bills need to go D at #3, and it should be be DL.
  18. Did you hear him say that Kelsey can play a little weak side and also drop into zone coverage? No, he can't. This is going to be a problem if the boys running the show think he can do that. Are they watching the same games I am?
  19. Nice job on this post. I went D all the way. We have got to a) stop the run and b)generate a pass rush before anything else.
  20. Senator - Thank you. This is very interesting news. Also, BillnutinHouston had an excellent point - that this is clearly on Nix now. That means that the Spiller pick was Nix's. Gailey may have wanted Spiller, who knows, but the final say was Nix's. I also agree with the reply that said Nix knew we were not any good and was drafting for the future. Troupe, Moats, and Spiller, among others, may very well be good players down the road. Let's see what this next draft looks like, see what the last draft winds up doing, and then we can really evaluate Nix.
  21. I want that feeling again. I was in the stadium at the '92 AFC Championship game against Denver. I will never forget the celebration at the end of that game. We had a great team, and we LOVED that team: Kelly, Thomas, Bruce, Reed, Tasker - I bet I could still name 90% of the starting team, and that was 20 years ago. Talk about pride. I was so proud of those guys, playing for us - for Buffalo, for Western New York and Southern Ontario. God, I wish they could give us back that feeling again.
  22. 1. DE 2. RT 3. OLB 4. ILB 4. QB 5. TE 6. RG 7. OLB They should also add as many quality FA as possible.
