Yes! The Bills are not in a position to be letting one of their better players go. Especially from a unit that has to get better. Granted, he's not elite, but he's not bad. As has been pointed out, letting him walk, only creates another need on team with too many needs as it is.

Add Hines Ward to the list of the accused

That is funny! More proof of how out of touch MSNBC is. -
If the Broncos make that offer, grab it and run like you stole something!!!

The survey doesn't make sense. What about a question to boycott the entire Preseason. No fans at any preseason games, that would be saying something, and interesting to see. Anyhow, doesn't matter, when the season starts, we'll all be there.

Pick any 2 starters from last season that you would like cut
CSBill replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeap! -
Thomas would be worth the investment, I'm not convinced any of the others are any better than what we have.

Hate to be the Debbie Downer here, but news flash: The Bills will not sign any FA lineman, the starter will come from the current crew. They are young, and developing, I think will be better, it takes time. But don't expect them to land any new people, and I doubt they'll even seriously look. Our only hope is that the current options improve and make the line better.

Gailey makes ESPN list of Best Coaches
CSBill replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So would could he do with an athlete like Vince Young ???? Yeap! You hit the nail on the head. If these two breakout, we're in a good position for a play-off run. If not, same-old-same-old. -
Would love to get Vince Young if he becomes available, which it appears he will . . . he with Chan's creativeness, could be a lethal combination.

Of ours, the only one worth fighting for is Poz. But go after Thigpen as a back-up. -

Why? He's pretty much the same thing as Fitz. Makes sense if you're a Super Bowl contending team, and all parties involved understand he is insurance. But a team like the Bills doesn't need insurance, they need a QB to develop. And as for him, if he's going to sit, he wants to sit on a team going places with a chance for the ultimate prize--those are teams that need insurance. Just don't see it, from either perspective.

Glaring weaknesses addressed, glaring holes remain
CSBill replied to trigger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, the logical explanation is because they worked with sheppard at the Sr. Bowl, so they know what they're getting and like it. And, a lot of other teams passed on Wilson when he was still sitting there -- just have to trust they know more about football players than we do. And, just when I say that, two aweful words come to my head: "Aaron Maybin." -
Round 7 (Pick 245): DT Michael Jasper - Bethel (TN)

Dude is far more athletic than I would've thought . . . let's hope it translates well to the football field. Hope srings eternal on the days after the draft. -
It's pretty embarrassing, reading this board sometimes...

Would love to see us get Cannon ... the unknown here is the cancer revelation that just came out. The scariest words in the English language. First and foremost, I'm sure we all wish him excellent care, victory over this aweful disease, a quick recovery, and a healthy life thereafter. As I understand it, it's a 90% treatable perdiction for him. My sister-in-law had the same thing, and gave birth to three children after she was cured. If he is truly that good, and the Bills do the homeowrk on the seriousness of his condition, it might be well worth the gamble

Round 3 (Pick #68): LB Kelvin Sheppard - LSU
CSBill replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sheppard said he's looking forward to lighting a fire under Marcell Dareus, the Bills' first-round pick. "I see we got big Marcell in front of me and I'm going to try to get his big butt fired up before those games so I can keep those linemen off me," he said. Buffalo News Article on Sheppard We need more players with this kind of smack ... I like him already -
If I were Ryan Mallett this is how I would feel.
CSBill replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather see the best Linebacker here, but I think I'd be OK with Mallet ... I heard one of the talking heads say yesterday, that a scout said, when he's drafted, he'll have the strongest arm in the NFL. A strong arm is an asset at Orchard Park in Nov-Dec. -
Wow! Reds beat the Cubs.

People Tend To Forget Last Year's Picks
CSBill replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NOOOOOOO!!!!!! to Ponder, losers in college don't turn out to be winners in the NFL, two words: "Trent Edwards" But back to the point of the thread, essentially the Bills already have two solid picks in Easley and Batton. Both will play, and both will contribute. -
If the Bills do a "Tyson Alulu" at 3, who is most likely?
CSBill replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College As the '10 college season nears its end, Castonzo has met scouts' expectations and definitely has moved from a possible first-rounder to a definite first-rounder now to a possible top-10 pick. He plays with uncommon flexibility, bending knees and pass blocking with a base few tall linemen can do. He also displays a strong hand punch in pass protection, a lost art the last decade. Castonzo is not the elite athlete like the Broncos' Ryan Clady but is a solid athlete with great technique, consistency and aggressive style of play. Well, I think we'd all like to see him develop into something, anything! But the odds are running out, based on what we've seen; my prediction is he is cut this year. It still baffles me how an entire organization could be so duped, and stupid. The average PSU fan knew he was a fraud, he wasn’t a starter at the beginning of the season, only played because the starter got hurt, racked up some big numbers against Coastal Carolina, Youngstown, and Temple, etc., then he was pretty-much shut down by the Big Ten, and had one good play in the Rose Bowl. He may have looked good “coming off the bus” at the draft combine, but the place players should be evaluated is in results in real games … and he has never had that. Why did anyone expect it would be different with Maybin at a higher level? All, which leads me to think, even though there are so many red flags, that Cam Newton should be our pick. Consider what he has done on the field, and against what, and it seems like a no-brainer. Winners win (Newton), frauds get exposed (Maybin).

If that happens, take the best athlete and football player: Newton!
