  1. OK Mrs Devlin, let it go. I get it that Flacco did this, and Devlin's put up good numbers, but come on, he couldn't start at Penn State, not exactly Quarterback U! Moreover, he doesn't have the size or arm of an NFL QB. At best, he's destined to be a free agent signing, and will be a practice squad player for some team next year.
  2. Fred Jackson has been jerked around this year, but I think he is still the best all-around football player the team has. And you have to love his attitude, nothing but class!
  3. When you're 0-7, is clock management really an issue? Go for the homerun, at this point you have nothing more to lose, or for that matter, gain--you're playing for draft positioning now.
  4. Wasn't it blocked ? .... how is that his fault? But I will say this, why not try the long field goal with 2 minutes to go, he has shown the leg for that distance (and, it's in a dome), even if he doesn't make it, the ball is pretty much the same place as the failed fourth down attempt.
  5. Buddy Nix, quit posting and get out there and find us some players.
  6. "If there's no football next year, losing games will help us two years in a row!" In the words of Marv Albert, "YES!"
  7. Bills need lineman first (either side of the ball), Fig Newton would be a reasonable 2nd round consideration - provided Fitz plays out the season well.
  8. Can we throw Maybin in with the 49er's too?
  9. Agreed! It really couldn't be any worse, at least these guys have the speed to run down their mistakes.
  10. Aaron Maybin . . . seriously, watch him tear it up next year
  11. From the Philadelphia Daily News this morning, lamenting the poor trades and free agent signing of the Eagles: "Left tackle Jason Peters hardly has proven to be worth the millions the Eagles threw at him last year when they acquired him from the Bills. Maybe that will change. Maybe he'll come back from his recent knee clean-out and be the player the Eagles hoped he would be. But considering his questionable work ethic and motor, I seriously doubt it." (Paul Domowitch, Philadelphia Daily News) The article link Although it still doesn't feel right, in the end, I think the Bills got the better part of that trade.
  12. To add to the sillyness: Is Bill Cowher still looking for a job?
  13. D Line keepers: Kyle Williams, and drafted rookies.
  14. Ouch! Do you have the cred around here to say this ????
  15. Nothing to lose, might as well give it a shot! Because as has already been pointed out, we are so loaded at the position.
  16. The thing that is so frustrating about the Maybin pick, is that he wasn't even suppose to be the starter at Penn State in his "one hit wonder year." I forget whom it was, but their starter got in JoePa's dog house, was susspended for a few games to open the 2008 season, so Maybin comes in, gets a few sacks against Costal Carolina, and then Temple, and - good for him - he has cashed in on the opprtunity by basically doing nothing since then (not even at PSU - check it out, most of his sacks came early in the season against the money-maker teams on the PSU schedule, and there wasn't much production after that). Which leaves us all to wonder, how could they have swung and missed so badly on this guy. Well, he's not done yet, let's hope he can at least grow into a productive player.
  17. It's Flutie or the Music City Miracle - one in the same, or was the MCM because of Flutie? Either or, that was the final event in a string misfortunes (since then, we’ve just stunk), and the Bills still haven’t recovered. I think the only solution is to invite the diminutive one back, and let him lead us back from the dead and into the play-offs this year!
  18. Yep! There really is no risk involved. The Bills need players, anyway you can get them. He comes back - Great! He doesn't - no big deal.
  19. It is mystifying, we essentially have the same group (with supposed ungrades at Linebacker? Remember Ellison, Contro, Mitch., etc.). And for the most part, we are still playing four down lineman (so not really a 3-4 problem). So what is it, we were not good the last few years, but certainly respectible? I'm starting to lean towards coaching, something is obviously not working.
  20. I think he should be moved inside, with his speed (athleticism as they call it), at least he could chase guys down, and he's a one trick pony on the outside = his pattened speed rush to nowhere on the outside edge. Wouldn't moving him inside at least give him a chance to fool people once-in-a-while on the pass rush. And let's face it, he can't be any worse than any of the rest of the linebacking crew at covering and tackling people.
  21. It's apples to oranges, the Pats have draft choices to burn ... they've stock-piled a bunch, enought they could risk over-paying for help needed now in a play-off run; something we can't even fathom.
