  1. I too am glad Moats is back on the outside--I think he has the tools and speed to play that well. Recall the screen pass in the 4th quarter to the Eagles D. jackson, because of his speed, Moats was able to snuff that out and stop him by himself for no gain. That play alone against one of the fastest people in the NFL, testifies to his athletic abilities. However, I do understand the the idea of moving him inside. He has good size, and if you can put that speed in the middle and give him the ability to rome from sideline to sideline, all the better. But it didn't work, I suspect there was too much thinking going on and when players think, they become slow. Moreover, with the emergence of Sheppard and Chris Whilte (and the less than pro-bowl performance of Merriman), it was determined he could be better utilized back on the outside. I think within a year our starting linebackers will include Batten, Moats, Sheppard, and White -- Barnett will probably hold his job, but these four give us a promising future over the next few years.
  2. And, I would add: 15 TDs in 20 trips into the Red Zone. And we've needed everyone of them.
  3. Yeah, he's been waiting about 15 years to make this call again. I hope he's right!
  4. Great stuff - it will be interesting to see where this goes. If all three keep producing and developing, we could possibly have a Tackle controversy of the best kind. I would say consider moving Hairston to a guard position, but it would be very hard to even think which one he would be able to replace. Who would have ever "thunk" we'd have this problem.
  5. that baby looks like he's going to be a middle linebacker one of these days
  6. And of course, explain or embellish your responses. I'm personally going to go with one of the young LBs doing something big this weekend, I think one of them, any of them, is due.
  7. From a laymen's perspective, and just watching the game on TV and replay, it sure looked like Sheppard was everywhere. No, Davis is not awful, but it appeared to me Sheppard was much more athletic, and he did rush the passer several times, creating the Barnett pick 6.
  8. didn't the Bills give Avant the game ball last week? or was it Andy Reid? as for the poll: they've have been equal bit players in what is the drama of the Bills 2011 season--but I think Smith, with his first down plays, and been a little bit more anti-depressive than Spiller would love for just one of them to breakout!!!! "C.J. Spiller is the much better play based upon their production to date," His production, what production?
  9. He and Wood may be the best interior combination in the league right now?
  10. They should not even show up this week, just phone it in Giants!
  11. got me! and I laughed out loud, again!
  12. The Giants are now cursed! You don't mess with Fitzmajic and not get burned
  13. I would do it for a 4th - so in essence, we would have traded Evans for Lloyd. Lloyd is more versatile, bigger, stronger, and he can still stretch the field (which is what the Bills need most right now). And even if it is only for this season--he'll be a free agent--worry about next year next year; plus, all the injured people will be back.
  14. I think these two make us so much more athletic at the LB position, and add Chris White whom is back practicing, its even better--he was the one that looked the best in pre-season. The future is bright.
  15. And didn't I see where they just signed Ellis Lankster . . . funny, the second Bills reject the Jets have signed this season, and both defensive players as well. The world is being turned upside down. Link
  16. I think the screen touchdown by Jackson was the worst, Duff ID four, I saw in real time and the replays at least two blocking in the back -- the one a reach and trip the defender. And it does seem that Merriman gets mugged a lot. Hopefully the Bills are filing reports with the league.
  17. I'll say this, in watching my DVR rerun, our Defense look far more athletic with Sheppard, Moats, and Carrington, then it had the previous weeks --- I think it will only get better, than again, I guess it only has one direction to go. Well, my point, I think the tools are there, just need the experience and execution.
  18. espn - 6 fox - 8 BR - 4 = 6 And why do all the national media types keep calling David Nelson a TE, "The Bills are for real on both sides of the ball, as they showed in Sunday's 31-24 win over Philly. Defensively, they give up a lot of yards, but are opportunisitc in creating turnovers. Offensively, Ryan Fitzpatrick is the perfect QB to orchestrate Chan Gailey's offense, and RB Fred Jackson and WR Stevie Johnson are augmented by a couple of pretty good TEs" (from the Fox report above)? And the FOX crew called him that several times in there broadcast Sunday.
  19. Do an internet search, posting it here will only work against the process. Check out this thing they have now called "Google."
  20. I think we're capable--Cincy game notwithstanding--but I think the injuries at wideout are the biggest hindrance now. Deep throws involve a lot of timing and coordination9 I.e. practice), and even if we do bring in someone with the speed to create separation (which we don't have with the current list of WRs), it will still be a challenge. I think we'll see the short pass and read stuff we're seeing now more than not.
