  1. Well, better than the alternative!
  2. yeah, my thoughts: the online deserves some credit for the ability to be consistent, no matter who was back there
  3. Who was it last year that kept calling Nelson a TE during a game broadcast? Anyhow, Nelson is probably a hybrid TE/WR. He has the hight for TE, but speed of a WR. He play tough enough, and is a decent blocker when he needs to be. He is just one of those guys it is easy to root for. I think he is going to have a breakout year. And if he did, he would cement his staining as one of the BIlls fans top guys - he is already close.
  4. Kinda silly and gutless - just pick them! Why all the ties ties? They should have just said a general list of the top 9 (make it 10) teams. Regardless, is that the Eagles line that the BIlls, and several other teams, ran all over last year in their wide-gap formation?
  5. Ah, my mouth is watering as I read this. Does anyone know if there is a local baker that will ship them?
  6. If everyone stays relatively healthy--well, we know there will be some injuries, they just have to be to the right guys; as in, not your stars--Fitz will have a great year. I predict, a better year than Eli or Payton this year! Yep! Better than both! More yards, more TD's, and less interceptions.
  7. I say, sign both him and TO . . . it worked so well in Cincinnati, right?
  8. "As a 3-4 defensive end, he had a solid 43 tackles and 5.5 sacks last year as a rookie. With the Bills changing to a 4-3 front, he will move inside to defensive tackle, where his one-gap penetrating skills should fit perfectly. Dareus is strong, powerful and rarely loses a one-on-one battle. With quick DT Kyle Williams next to him, and with DEs Mario Williams and Mark Anderson rushing off the edge, Dareus will see mostly one-on-one blocks against less athletic offensive guards. The AFC East should be on notice." Let's hope! All signs are pointing that way for him.
  9. welcome OhioGJ, its a beautiful addiction as they say. Every once in a while, you get to feel the high . . . I think this season is going to be one
  10. His spot has to be in jeopardy, although our WR talent isn't outstanding, there are a lot of decent ones. I hope he makes it, but one big thing the Bills wanted to do is get faster there, and the is not his strength.
  11. Assuming the BIlls are in the later half of the draft--having made the play-offs--if a top tier TE is available, go for it. However, if there is a potential franchise QB that can be given time to develop, yeah, that too!
  12. Eagles vs. Bills D = Apples & Oranges, two very different defenses. As mentioned above, the birds ran that wide 9 thing, and got carved up on the ground. Furthermore, not sure they got to the QB any better. Losing a few pounds should make them a bit strong (presuming the weight control is from the weight room as well as diet, and thus, a but stronger) => I heard they're using P90X
  13. I'm trying to finagle a trip to Miami for the Dolphins game in December--been there twice, but the only problem is it is close to Christmas.
  14. Hey Lurker, they're looking for top writers like you, here's your chance to get a real job: Bleacher Report Writers-Looking for You
  15. "Bobby Hoying" !!! An Ohio High School legend! Won a State Championship in Football, Basketball (2), and Baseball. Jeff Harding (All-Pro Center with the Steelers was a HS teammate), his brother followed him as QB to Ohio State. This small school in western Ohio (a one stop light town) had 5 D1 scholarship athletes on his teams when they won all those championships. It was an incredible group of athletes, and it was a lot of fun to watch them play - I lived near them at the time. Anyhow, I think he runs the local feed store now.
  16. Wow, I missed that in my PH202 Modern Philosophy class ... should have gone to Missouri
  17. I think we have a lot of depth there, but no frontline stars . . . if they can just do their job, the over-all defensive talent will cover for them. Fortunately, the 4/3 is not a linebacker dependent defense, and considering the talent (or, lack thereof) at linebacker, this was probably a consideration--not the only--in switching back to the 4/3. By units, the Bills defense, strength to weakness scale: (1) Line = Very Strong; (2) D'Backs = Strong [not outstanding, but capable]; (3) Linebackers = Average [we hope]. By the way: I believe this is my 1,000 post - this is a special day!
  18. I think Easley. Merriman would be a nice luxury on Defense, but I think the team can get along just fine without him. But, a true number 2 receiver is needed, and it seems Easley is the potential one there.
  19. A few suggested this, and I understand, but we were never given anything definite about him being hurt. There was lot's of speculation here, and I may be wrong, but I don't recall anything from the team? And beyond that, I think everyone of us would say it's imperative he have a good year for the Bills to be successful this season. I would put him over everyone else on the list for obvious reasons, it's a "quarterback driven" league/game. Anyhow, my intent was guys who didn't finish the season from last year, and I included SJ because of the off-season surgery. Thanks to all for the good discussion, it's been informative.
  20. Really? You don't think his injury was that serious? This guy is a difference maker, that's why I put him first. And you may be the only one in the world that questions his effort. There's a reason he's leading the voting.
  21. yeah, if they would give him the keys to the offense . . . would love to see him as OC
