  1. I think Gruden's assessment of Fitz is right on Buffalo News Article But it raises a bigger question/issue: The BIlls have brought in two QBs, and a 3rd is on the way. I, however, don't see them drafting one at all. There are probably a few of these second tier (that is, non top 10 guys) they would love to get, but I don't see any of them being worthy of our 2nd pick, and not sure they are more important than other needs in the 3rd round. So, in the end, if none of these guys fall to the 4th, then I don't see them drafting one at all. What do you all think? Yes or No, and if "yes," who, and in what round? I say none in the early rounds, and then maybe a flier on a late round guy.
  2. I think you're right Estro, but I really like your draft scenario . . . My 2012 Bills Mock Draft: Chargers trade up to #10, giving us #18 and #51 1(#18)- Cordy Glenn (OT, Georgia) - (changed from Melvin Ingram) 2(#41)- Lavonte David (OLB, Nebraska) - (changed from Rueben Randle) 2(#51)- Josh Robinson (CB, UCF) - (changed from James Brown) 3(#72)- Marvin McNutt (WR, Iowa) - (changed from Audie Cole)
  3. What happened? I had seen him as a possible 2nd round choice for the Bills.
  4. good analysis , I pretty much agree with everything!
  5. Point taken. When I put up the post I thought of the many Catholic schools, I assume the original post was bent towards the Evangelical wing of Christianity. See the quote: "a bunch of bible-thumping church-boys." I would also add, of the other schools mentioned, Baylor is probably the the closest to conservative evangelicalism - it is still affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas. Other SBC schools with D1 or 1A football include: Wake Forrest, Davidson, Furman, Sanford. Keeping it in the Evangelical Church realm, which I think was the perspective of #34, interestingly, Baylor and Duke still have widely respected Theological Seminary's connected to their school (Duke is Methodist school). Anyhow, didn't mean to offend. My apologies if needed.
  6. I appreciate the effort #34, but these schools have long abandoned their Christian heritage . . . remember: SMU has their own special on ESPN about their level of corruption and decadence--and that came from the leadership of the school. You could also throw Harvard and Yale in there (and whole bunch of others), as each was founded with a Christian purpose and mission. Maybe the only truly major Christian college/university today that turns out NFL level players on occasion, is Liberty down in Virginia (of Jerry Falwell fame).
  7. character counts! . . . unless they are incredibly talented?
  8. it will probably be the Pats in December
  9. If Sheppard improves--which he should, the Defense could be elite. Our DB's are good enough, and will only get better with the improved D line play. The big question is the Linebacker play. Sheppard should only get better, Barnett and Morrison provide solid experiences and depth, Merriman is a wild card--X Factor, Scott is an under-rated asset, and I strongly suspect the BIlls may draft a LB in the 10 spot or sign a capable Free Agent to add depth. The only disappointment has been that the younger guys Nix drafted (Moats, Batton, White, etc) have not really panned out--but maybe with another year and a better line, just maybe, we'll see real improvement this year. Anyhow, if the LBs improves, yes, it could be an elite defense, in my opinion!
  10. Quarterbacks always get the hottest girls
  11. Wasn't the disaster when he played center? I thought he was actually a viable tackle option . . . best at guard, but he can play tackle.
  12. Totally agree, I really don't think they will draft an OT in the first round, I think they are very happy with Hairston and may see him as the LOT of the future.
  13. "Everyone from 8-32 are all basically the same talent level" -->> If this is true, which I believe it basically is, then draft for your need: OT or WR. Drafting the best player makes no sense; that is, if 8-32 are all basically the same.
  14. If we don't take an OT in round one, Massie may be a good pick-up in the second: 44. Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss: After flying under the radar for most of the season, Massie is starting to creep up boards across the league. Scouts rave about his toughness, footwork and overall skill set, making him a viable option for teams looking for an upgrade at tackle.
  15. you think the Pats will buy it, and trade away a bunch of picks to jump over us ????
  16. Kennard Cox . . . we hardly knew you, where is he playing now?
  17. Because the Eagles realize the true value of a competent LT, and are willing got pay to get it. Not sure the Bills get that yet?
  18. Its the annual Wonderlick thread that pops up this time a year. .... everyone jump on and report their scores. I did two short versions: 37 & 40 .... feeling good about myself.
