  1. I would have liked to get a top tier Linebacker in the draft or FA, I just don't get the feeling we're that strong there. I do, however, think that we''l be just some at WR, I think the crowd we have there has talent, and is ready for primetime. The additions have speed, and hopefully Easley will finally stay healthy and emerge. Just a hunch.
  2. if it comes down to that: I say, don't resign Byrd and use the $ to resign the more valuable assets, Wood and Levitre!
  3. I think we've all thought this, but our fan bias causes us to hesitate in saying it . . . anyhow, if he can stay healthy for an entire season, and if the BIlls are serious play-off contenders, then he may get the league-wide recognition he deserves.
  4. Just voted, Graham crushing it, must not be many 49er fans out there; or, with their other additions, most people figure he won't see the field.
  5. yep But seriously, this is a good idea--saving a roster spot and all--until he sails one over the punters head, or screws up a key field goal attempt, then you'll remember why we liked Sanborn, and why teams search high and low for consistently good long snappers. Yep, it looks easy, but all I have to say is one word to put it perspective: Levitre!
  6. No, you're right. And there 20+ other teams in the league that would say the same thing about their QB. But is he "good enough?" I do think so. Let's Hope!
  7. I don't think there are any big surprises with the starters, considering injuries and all. And as far as the rookies being inserted form day one, I can tell you as a college coach, you start whom you think is the best option there (there's a reason Aaron Maybin was 3rd team from day one, and his play only confirmed that). I have never met a coach who didn't want to put his best players on the field, so if you think a rookie is your best player, they go first. Now if their play (including the mental as well as physical aspects) tells you something different, then you make changes. Don't over think it, it's as sImple as that. Depth Charts do mean something.
  8. Would You Rather? Pay for players on the downward side and close to the bottom of the slope in their careers, or pay players with solid potential, just starting the upward slope of their careers? It comes down to this, do you want: the left-overs from the past, all good players who have had their day, but clearly players past their prime? These are players who are living off their wisdom and grit; again, good, but not something you can build on. You bring in these players when you are a top run Super Bowl team with an immediate hole to fill. They're stop-gap solutions, not build-on solutions. I don't see the BIlls in position to take these second tier answers. Yes, they can produce, and would be to a degree, good players. However, if the BIlls want to really develop and make progress, they need to identify players they think have good potential, and who are on the way-up in their careers. At this stage of the teams development, younger, players with good potential, are a better value than, older, plug-a-hole, for a season type players. In this case, go with potential over experience: the current production will be about the same, but the future potential is much higher in the "younger" players. My Opinion.
  9. I would add Heard to that mix, he played well last season, and I think will be a better fit in the 4/3 system.
  10. "I think Buddy made the right call with Dareus over Fairley" . . . you think?
  11. 1: they think RBs should NEVER, EVER be taken in the 1st round. --- Yeah, this one!
  12. That I agree with, there is still little contribution from this draft (spiller is more hope than production, yet) . . . he has done well elsewhere, but not in this draft. Nonetheless, I hope Troup gets back, he is hard worker, and I think, when healthy, he can contribute.
  13. Really Demetress? "The scheme is different. As far as pass-blocking, it's way more physical, it's not passive, it's not sitting back." I think you misunderstood things, the other four guys on the Bills line were very aggressive and physical, just not you. Sorry Eagles, he's no Jason Peters!
  14. It would be pointless, both have their moments, and both have their liabilities. What is the gain?
  15. He is clearly one of the best, and certainly, most consistent lineman we have. I think he is under appreciated around the league, let's hope they don't catch on when it comes free agent time. To develop a consistent winner, the Bills need to lock him up for a long time.
  16. I agree, when healthy, I think he still a top level corner . . . lets hope, a good problem to have
  17. agreed, if we want a TE, just go get him
  18. Great story, thanks for posting it FN. The heroes of the story: 1 - The victim's mother - an incredible example of the power of forgiving 2 - The Jackson State coach - had the courage to take someone where they're at, and gave him the opportunity 3 - Casey - took responsibility, paid the price (dearly), doesn't run from it, and keeps moving forward with the opportunities he's given The world needs more of all three!
  19. "Rock Hill specializes in DB's, Jonathan Joseph, Dunta Robinson, Sheldon Brown are all Rock Hill kids--so Stephon comes from excellent roots" Are they all related? You do know this kind of inbreeding is illegal in most states so be careful about bragging about it, apparently it causes genetic problems . . . in this case, the genetic problem is the production of defensive backs . . . Hmmm? I wonder if Dick Jaron has something to with this ????
  20. The best thing/news here is Merriman. If he gets back close to his old self - which I know is a big "if" - wow, what a D-line!
  21. With a couple of Super Bowl rings, Young brings experience and that "know how to win" mindset--and I heard Jerry Rice might be signed as the number two receiver; yep, probably the best team ever!
