Tracking the Bills Front Office - Gas up the jet!
CSBill replied to CherryCoke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This might be easier if Kim Pegula has Find Friends activated on her iPhone. As for the Chip Kelly thing, I have a feeling he was interviewing them more than the other. In which case, fully explains why it took him 15 minutes to figure out where he didn't want to go. -
Defensive Coordinator Candidate: Rex Ryan
CSBill replied to CSBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if the right Head Coach is hired, Rex would love to make this D a good resume building stop for a year or two. -
Hackett will be working at a fast food restaurant this time next year. I suspect the front office insisted he be let go, and Doug didn't want to do it, becuase with Hackett, he (Dougie) still really controlled the offense. Getting a real OC would have taken him out of that process. Which ironically, would have been good for the team, and him. But arrogance and pride are very effective blinders.

We have no idea where the Head Coaching search will end, but I think wherever it lands, Jim Swartz will not be the Bills DC any longer. He may become the next HC, but if he doesn't, I seriously doubt he stays on as DC. If he does become HC, or if we bring in someone else, either way, I would love to see REX RYAN as our next DC. I see so many positives to this, not the least of which is his success against the Patriots, and how motivated would he be to crush the Jets every time he faced them. Plus, he is a heck of a DC. Your thoughts . . .

A HUGE thanks to all of u and the BILLS. Retired today!
CSBill replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you for your service to all of us, and all Americans. Enjoy that well deserved retirement. -
Didn't we kick the tires on Flynn last year, and I think he went to Oakland, and back to Green Bay since then? And he had a sin with Seattle, try-out with the Giants, and I think a few others in between. I guess he is worth a look, again???

Rumor: Pegula met Cowher for dinner
CSBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's the annual Bill Cowher season: Fan bases around the NFL annually speculate and dream of bringing the the chin in as their next head coach. But, like the Grinch that he is, he teases, he wines and dines, and he goes back to the desk job where he gets work about 20 days year and collect millions. While fans are left holding the keyboard and dreaming of maybe next year. When the entire process will start all over again. -
So our first pick will be the 48th?

This Year The Bills Were Better Than....
CSBill replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, there will now be an ad nauseam string of threads and posts about the need for a better QB. But look at the teams listed, at least 10 are probably in worse QB shape than the Bills, and all 10—and a few more—will be working hard to improve their QB situation as well. My Thoughts: Yes! If we can make a move to get better there, please do. But the likelihood of that is not high (for numbers sake, I would say less than a 10% chance we add an improvement at QB in the off-season). We'll probably draft some kind of project, we'll take a look at some veteran also-rans, and in the end decide the Kyle Orton is still the best we can do for now. But, there is one place where some real work can be done to improve the this team for 9 to 11 wins, and yes, you guest it, get two more decent interior offensive lineman (guards or center, Wood can move if needed). Even one really good new person might due, if Richardson, Kujo, or C. Williams actually come along and can really contribute next year. But in the end, improvement there will make your running game better, which in turn can make your passing game better, etc., etc. TBD will be littered with posters suffering from QB agnosia, but as long as the real executives at the real TBD don't suffer from that, this team can vault over everyone on that list. Happy New Year , and "may the odds be ever in your our favor" for next years play-off run. -
SAM in 2015! Get it done Doug & Doug.

Our Best Season in a Decade - some final thoughts
CSBill replied to Big C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am totally convinced Spiller has a vision problem. How many times did it seem like he had no ability to see to the left or right, where a big hole was, and just keep running right straight ahead into the back of one of his inept lineman? Nice kid, but I think his vision and football IQ will always limit him. Then again, Chan somehow found a way to use him in both the running and passing game. Something the current regime couldn't figure out how to do. I wish him well on a team other than any AFC east team. -
Name 3 players that will not return next year
CSBill replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spiller . . . was he really here this year? I for one, will officially label him a bust of a top 10 draft pick Spikes . . . like him, but will not make economic sense with Kiko coming back C Williams . . . Didn't do much, and hopefully the rookies from this year develop. Hopefully! And probably a free agent or draft pick will be added. Hopefully! -
Would you trade a 5th for Josh Gordon?
CSBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I HAVE A BETTER TRADE OPTION FOR CLEVELAND: We'll take Johnny Football off your hands, and you give us back that first round pick, and we'll call it even. -
I may be bitter, but man am I happy!
CSBill replied to gobillsinytown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the end, it was wash . . . there are also at least two games we could have (should have) lost: Detroit, Minnesota. Yes, certainly a better QB would help; but really, the achilles heel of this team the entire season was the Offensive Line. Everything else being the same, and just average play from the online, and this team is in the play-offs. -
and how the $%$#@#$ does Derek Carr score 27 points against this team ???????

Article: Why OL is bigger issue than Hackett/QB
CSBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? I don't think they needed Orton's help, they were doing just fine at sucking long before he took over. The one thing that EJ could do that Orton can;t is run and escape the constant pressure he was getting, "Obviously" Orton is terrible at that. -
Article: Why OL is bigger issue than Hackett/QB
CSBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The article just confirms the eye-ball test we have seen all year. But I still can't getaway from the fact this was a decent group in previous years, and that not one of the new people has truly been an upgrade. So what does that tell us? Either the coaching or scheme isn't good, period. Yes, keep looking for better players via the draft or free agency. But more importantly, new coaching. -
Next year's starters (we don't need that much)

Marrone & Hackett ruined Spiller as a Bill.
CSBill replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, Flutie was overhyped. All he did was win, and you know how we hate that around here. Wow, get a clue.
