The press speculates on EJ's future
CSBill replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Always fun to start the season with a QB controversy. Makes the PreSeason so much more fun (or, "funner" as we say in WNY) -
Offensive playcalling: what to expect
CSBill replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We had a lot of "ground" the past two seasons, but not much "pound." There has certainly been a concerted effort to bring in "pound" players, but as I have said other places, the real key to all this will be improvement in the offensive line play. As for stretching the field and all, I doubt you'll see much of that. Even though we may have one of the better WR cores in the NFL, these four factor speak against much production for them: Lack of a top tier—maybe even less than average—QB to get them the ball. A head and offensive coach not pre-disposed to a "throwing down the field" philosophy. Purposely building a team in the off-season to "Ground and Pound." A great defense that will win you games (this equals => conservative O play calling). So, to answer your question: "What to expect?" = Nothing exciting. As little as necessary. A lot of running the ball, short dink and dunk passing, and an occasional bomb to try and get one over on the Defense. But in short, pretty much what we've seen the past few years. I would love to have seen what Chan could do with these offensive toys, he would have had some real fun with them. -
Who Goes? Locks: Sammy, Woods, Harvin Probably: Hogan, Goodwin?, Easley? Thigpen? Long Shots: All the others . . . But note: If another WR emerges, look for Easley to be let go; Why? Notice all the special teams ability the Bills have picked up this off-season.

ESPN Insider - Why Bills will make the playoffs in 2015
CSBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As said above, I think the o-line is really the key to any improvement on the offense. We do have the skill players, maybe a slight upgrade at QB with Cassel—or if EJ develops, that would be a real bonus. But the key to being able to run consistently is more on the line than the running backs. Bills Playoffs ? = Improved O-line ! -
Report:Seahawks didn't properly investigate Frank Clark
CSBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Report:Seahawks didn't properly investigate Frank Clark And this just in, nor did the Buffalo Bills properly investigate Karlos Williams. Truth is, they both gave lip service to it, but they really don't care, nor does the NFL. If they did, these guys would not be allowed to be drafted or play. And before I hear the everyone has a right, and second chance, etc. …. and every business owner has a right not employ you. -
If La'el Collins drops do Bills take him?
CSBill replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
stop - Yes, all social ills are Goodell's problem, Ferguson, Baltimore, Global Warming, ISIS, etc., yup, all on Goodell—he should have a clause in the process to cover all these, and every other unanticipated world problem that affects the draft. He is so myopic. -
Fixed!

yes, right after the Bills drafted the thug from FSU . . . I really wanted them to draft him

I posted this elsewhere, but I think its a serious enough issue that it deserves its own thread: Does the Williams (and Darby) pick, all football issues aside, bother people — especially the women (i know there not that many here) — on this board? Here is what I wrote in the other thread about Whaley's Presser . . . My disappointment with this draft is the seemingly total disregard for the character of the two FSU players drafted. What Doug? you asked the athlete about the incident and didn't get anything from the victims???? What do you think he was going to say, oh yeah, "I smacked her around a little, nothing serious though, she learned her lesson, don't tell the cops please—I won't do it again, really!" And what is most disturbing, neither one was a "we gotta have this guy" kind of player. There other good options both picks. The Williams' one especially. Really, we needed another running back? Consider this: The class of the Buffalo Bills for the last decade (Fred J), is about to be replaced by this 'women beating" thug. How's that go down ladies? I a 50+ year old, as foolishly loyal BB fan as someone my age could be, and I just have this bad feeling that this team is very quickly losing any kind of soul. Come on Doug, Pegula's, really? This is the team you want to be????

Doug Whaley's Post-Draft Media Blitz

My disappointment with this draft is the seemingly total disregard for the character of the two FSU players drafted. What Doug, you asked the athlete about the incident and didn't get anything from the victims???? And what is most disturbing, neither one was a "man! we gotta have this guy" kind of player. Strong cases could be made for other picks in both situations. The Williams' one especially. Really, we needed another running back? Consider this: The class of the Buffalo Bills for the last decade (Fred J), is about to be replaced by this 'women beating" thug. How's that go down ladies? Speed Kills Except for the Bills that We Draft
CSBill replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Somewhere, somehow, in a very faint way, an obscure draft "expert' mentioned Darby in the same sentence with Revis . . . Rex read it in the internet, and the pick was destined. Ugh! -
Who should they have drafted at pick 50
CSBill replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Recently, the Bills (Whaley) have been terrible OL evaluators—see last year's picks. To answer this thread questions, FISHER was the logical choice. Moreover, consistent with my first sentence, i have no confidence that Miller will do well. -
Best Players Available after Round 3
CSBill replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trade up and get the OT tackle from Pitt or Tre' Jackson from FSU Later round, I really like Jesse James the TE from Penn State -
RD 2, Pick 50: DB Ronald Darby, Florida State
CSBill replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will any of the local pressers have the guts to ask him what his role was in the Winston rape case, and why didn't testify in the FSU Keystone campus cops "hearing" on the matter? Will any of them challenge Whaley why he would pick someone with this kind of history? The guys has playing issues, and character issues . . . -
