  1. Come on, Sherlock. You know darn well that this is a TBD mock, not a Raiders mock (although they are always fun to 'mock'). Have you been huffing Werner's bloomers again?
  2. Love the bolded...hate the line below it.
  3. Because he's not even close to being worthy of a top 40 selection.
  4. Alex Leatherwood played for Alabama. You may be confusing him with Liam Eichenberg who played for Notre Dame.
  5. Sure. I just pointed it out for context because I thought it was interesting where he ranked those four in relation to the Bills' choice in this TBD mock. Keep up the good work.
  6. FWIW, in Daniel Jeremiah's latest 'Top 50' (released about an hour ago) he has: JOK (18) Etienne (20) Harris (21) Phillips (22) https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-50-2021-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-3-0?icampaign=nflweb-push-webnotification
  7. Toney is turning into quite the enigma and I agree with you both that it will all come down to how fast he truly is. I am increasingly getting the feeling that whoever takes him will either have one of the steals of the draft or one of the biggest disappointments. There doesn't seem to be an in-between with him. He seems to be a huge risk/reward type of player. Just who is willing to pull the trigger and take that risk when the time comes is the question.
  8. I don't "fall in love" with positions. In fact, I think if you have your heart set on one player in particular, you're setting yourself up for disappointment, especially when there will be 29 picks made before the Bills select (barring a trade/trades up, of course). I was commenting on who was there at 30 in this TBD mock. I've run a ton of mocks and, as of late, JOK was long gone before the Bills picked and Jaelan Phillips has increasingly been there. They both may very well be gone before the Bills pick and I'm fine with that but I would be more than happy with JOK (or Phillips). This isn't just about someone to plug and play for 2021, it's about roster building. He's big, fast, and explosive and can play three downs, if needed, or be used as a chess piece in sub packages. Add as much talent as possible and let the coaches figure out the rest.
  9. I had every intention of voting for Jaelan Phillips until I saw that JOK was still available. That floored me. Those are my top two choices. If the board actually falls that way for the Bills, it will be a really nice 'dilemma' for them. Good job by all of the TBD GMs thus far.
  10. In no way did I propose him as a 1st Rounder, not sure how you got there. I was just discussing the kid with 'whatdrought', nothing more. I said I like him as a prospect in general, not as a Bill. With Milano re-signing, there are bigger needs than LB. I wouldn't even entertain taking one prior to the Round 3, if then.
  11. Either way, he's a good prospect and I think he'd be a good addition to their D. There are several UNC prospects I like in this draft.
  12. He'd play outside in a 4-3 so I'm not sure it would affect Edmunds much, if at all. He's a little raw but looks like he could be a good pursuit backer.
  13. I have been a diehard Alabama fan my whole life and I love Najee Harris. I also think that Etienne has a chance to be special. That said, I think taking a RB in the 1st Round would not be the best allocation of resources. This is a predominantly 10 and 11 personnel offense and it does not need a 'bell cow' RB. There are guys with a gear that Singletary and Moss don't possess who will be available outside of the 1st Round. Williams, Gainwell, Jefferson, & Hawkins just to list a handful.
  14. Agree. Leaks rarely, if ever, come out of the Bills FO unless they purposely want something out there. They are as tight-lipped as it gets. They are taking an Edge or CB, IMO. I don't see a RB in the 1st Round. There will be better value at other positions.
  15. Yes, sir...I concur and believe you are correct. Either way, one of the most iconic calls and people in Buffalo sports history.
  16. RIP, Rick Azar. I really liked him as a kid growing up in WNY. I can still hear his call in my head on OJ's record breaking run in 1973 like it was yesterday. He had a great run himself...91 years. Kudos, sir. It was Rick on the call but Al was in the booth with him as the color analyst. You are correct. I had it backwards. Apologies.
  17. Was he playing the '3' when they kicked him inside?
  18. Which means the team likely has the worst teeth in the league now and will need a good dentist... ...or at least @teef
  19. More than likely not realistic because Jaelan Phillips is not falling this far but I drafted based on availability, not whether I thought someone would or should be there. I also made several trades down and, historically, Beane is more likely to trade up. (BOLDED numbers were the Bills' original draft position prior to this mock draft) 30 (1st Round - TRADE): Traded #30 & #93 (3rd Round) to LA Chargers for #47 (2nd Round), #77 (3rd Round), #118 (4th Round), & 2022 2nd Round. 47 (2nd Round): Jaelan Phillips - EDGE Miami (FL) -> Young, athletic Edge rusher needed for the Bills' 4-3 D and offers versatility, as well. Would be an absolute steal here and, as I said, I don't see it being realistic but love it in this scenario. 61 (2nd Round - TRADE): Traded #61 & #118 (4th Round acquired from LAC) to Cleveland for #64 (2nd Round), #110 (4th Round), & 2022 7th Round. 64 (2nd Round): Tommy Togiai - DT Ohio State -> Adds youth at the 1 technique and figures to be the eventual Lotulelei replacement. Very good run defender who should help shore up the middle of the D. 77 (3rd Round): Hamsah Nasirildeen - S Florida State -> Big, physical TE neutralizer that McDermott desires for his D. Scheme versatile and would project to be the 'Big/Buffalo Nickel'. 93 (3rd Round - TRADE): Traded #30 (1st Round) & #93 to LA Chargers for #47 (2nd Round), #77 (3rd Round), #118 (4th Round), & 2022 2nd Round. 110 (4th Round - TRADE): Traded #110 (acquired from LAC) & #236 (7th Round) to Tennessee for #126 (4th Round), #166 (5th Round), #232 (7th Round) & 2022 6th Round. 126 (4th Round): Paulson Adebo - CB Stanford -> Athletic corner with good size (6' 1", 190 lbs). Good ball skills and can play on the outside in McDermott's zone scheme. The more I see of this kid, the more I like him. 161 (5th Round from Las Vegas): Austin Watkins - WR UAB -> Was hoping to land someone with jets and return potential like Eskridge or Newsome but they were both gone by the time I pulled the trigger on a WR. With the addition of Sanders and re-signing of McKenzie, WR took a backseat for me. This kid is intriguing with a nice combo of speed, hands, route running, & vertical ability. Hopefully, he could also carve out a niche on special teams. 166 (5th Round): Garret Wallow - LB TCU -> Played safety at one time and can blitz. A little light but might be able to add a little weight and would eventually slot in at the 'WILL'. 174 (5th Round): Robert Hainsey - OT Notre Dame -> Depth for the o-line. Could be a swing tackle or possibly slide to guard. 213 (6th Round): Chris Evans - RB Michigan -> Went with untapped potential here. He has good cutting ability and the ability to get the big gainers that Singletary and Moss don't. The physical traits are there but his lack of of downs the last couple of years does make him a bit of an unknown/gamble. 232 (7th Round): Brenden Jaimes - OT Nebraska -> More depth for the o-line, specifically right tackle or guard. 236 (7th Round from Carolina - TRADE): Traded to Tennessee along with #110 (acquired from LAC) for #126 (4th Round), #166 (5th Round), #232 (7th Round) & 2022 6th Round. Future Draft Picks Acquired: 2022 2nd from LAC 2022 6th from TEN 2022 7th from CLE
  20. Nice guy, nice story, next to no chance of making the final roster. 25% is way too generous. He'll be 30 in May and has little to no experience playing the game. His 15 minutes are almost up. Kudos for even giving it a shot, Christian, and good luck to you.
  21. Yes, he certainly had a nose for the sport...
  22. That's approximately the value of a 5th this year.
