  1. Maybe, maybe not, Deano. How do we know for a fact that the Bills weren't one of the ten teams reportedly inquiring about him? The Bills are the last team I would have thought would talk with (and end up with) Terrell Owens.
  2. Exactly. Well said, Bill. Another good example is Pat Williams. Just because he was undrafted, does he not deserve to be paid amongst the best DTs in the game? A player's draft slot should only affect his first contract. Beyond that, he should be paid based on performance. BTW, the league really needs to address these rookie contracts. The money these unproven, top of the draft players are receiving is ridiculous. It's extremely difficult for a team with a top 5 pick to trade out of those spots based on the money the crapshoots in those slots command.
  3. Of the choices listed, I like Brown. I'll be SERIOUSLY pissed if they take Maybin at 11. Just what the Bills need, another undersized defensive player. Man, I really can't stand this team playing the Cover 2.
  4. 'F' Toronto. They can stick to watching a piss poor hockey team...they don't need our bad football team, too. If they're bored with the Loafs, let 'em watch more curling.
  5. Thanks, Lori. I wasn't jazzed about this signing at first but, upon reflection, it makes sense...especially since it's only for one year. If nothing else, it puts the Bills back on the NFL map and makes them (at least temporarily) relevant again. Who knows, maybe it even gets them a national TV game this year. It should be interesting...
  6. Agreed. It will be fascinating to see how he reacts to being a big fish in a small pond, as well. I don't have a problem with this for one year. How many people actually think that the Bills will make the playoffs this year, anyway? It should also take some pressure off of Hardy and allow him to develop without having to be one of the "go to" guys. There's no questioning T.O.'s work ethic. I think his presence will shorten the learning curve for the young WRs like Hardy & Steve Johnson.
  7. "By trading away Marshawn Lynch and drafting Chris "Beanie" Wells in the 1st round..." Beanie Wells for Lynch?? Injury prone, rookie RB for a young, established, top 10 NFL RB??? No way...that's a downgrade for the Bills. "Detroit would then have picks #1 and #11...Buffalo doesn't have to commit #11 pick money to an offensive or defensive position of need at such a high pick." So, the Bills don't "have to commit #11 pick money to an offensive or defensive position of need" but Detroit's going to commit those resources to the #11 AND the #1 overall?! People on this board rag on the Bills for being a cheap franchise yet the Lions are historically one of the cheapest in the league. No team is going to want to commit that kind of money to two top 11 picks, let alone the Lions. Not realistic in the least. "Buffalo then trades Marshawn Lynch to the Seattle Seahawks for their second round pick, pick #37...The guy is a cancer...seriously. Buffalo gets rid of a highly talented player...Buffalo gets another high second round pick at #37." A 2nd Rounder for a young, Pro Bowl RB who has yet to reach his full potential? No thanks. A cancer?? Are you for real? Every indication is that Lynch is loved inside the lockerroom. He's committed a couple of misdemeanors. He hasn't robbed, raped, beaten, or killed anyone. The NFL is loaded with talented players who aren't choirboys but also aren't scumbags either. Lynch falls into that category. Nice job of sensationalizing to try and prove your point. "Buffalo gets more draft picks to fill holes not filled in Free Agency...Buffalo's top needs of DE/C/TE are met while also ridding Buffalo of Lynch and replacing him with the best RB in the class." I don't have a problem with the Bills trading down to acquire more picks. That's about the only thing you said that I agree with or even makes any realistic sense. Basically, what you've proposed is this: The Bills trade the #11 and Lynch for Wells (#20), Mack (#33), & Ayers (#37). So, they're using their 1st Rounder on an unestablished, injury prone, rookie RB who's not even the consensus best RB in the draft and getting rid of a young, stud RB?? They already have a franchise RB. Using this pick on a RB is a downgrade (lateral, at best). They use the #33 on a center here? After they signed Hangartner to fill that role. I love Mack but he's a luxury there. Again, a lateral, at best. How exactly are they using "more draft picks to fill holes not filled in Free Agency"? They had RB and C already filled. You just used their first two picks on a rookie RB and a rookie C. So now they've gone from having the #11 to having the #37. Brilliant way to fill your holes. Sorry, but you didn't think this thru beyond a fantasy football trade. It's not realistic or smart for the Bills. Nice try, Skippy.
  8. I think several people on this board tend to toss a high ball (or two) before posting.
  9. I voted exactly the same way. Quite frankly, I'd love to have any or all of them.
  10. Do I want the Bills to take Maybin? Two words: HELL NO! From what I saw of him @ the combine, I think he played himself out of millions of dollars and possibly the first round. Let someone else take a flier on him.
  11. Pop quiz: Which AFC team has currently gone the longest without a playoff appearance? Which NFC team? Go ahead. I'll wait.
  12. He must have nude photos of Ralph and Russ Brandon...together (sorry for the horrible visual). Guy should have been let go a long time ago. Then again, given the Bills' current business model of ineptitude, he fits right in...
  13. Translation: douchebag
  14. Bill, who said he's turning down the Bills? I say he's just doing his due diligence. We don't know for a fact that he wanted to go to Miami. That was just as much media speculation, due to his past relationship with Pennington, as anything else. This is his last chance at a big payday and he owes it to himself to explore all possibilities. Is having Carson Palmer as your QB somehow worse than Trent Edwards? I'm not sure why people think playing for Cincy is worse than Buffalo. We're currently the AFC's Lions.
  15. And they continue to fall flat, chasing bad money after more bad money. And last time I checked, the cheatriots* have won more championships in the last few years than the entire NFC East combined. Certainly, they spend...but not like the drunken, empty-handed sailors in Dallas and DC.
  16. But all of those championships were won BEFORE Dumb Danny bought the team. They've won a single playoff game on his watch and went seven straight years without a playoff appearance. Granted, that's better than the Bills but not by much...and, considering his return-on-investment, I'd argue that Bills fans are still better off considering the amount of scratch that Snyder is charging Foreskins fans for everything from tickets to parking and all things in-between.
  17. No surprise here. He's more or less cornered himself and is hoping to sweeten his deal. It looks like it's the Bills or Bengals...or wait until summer when someone gets hurt and there is considerably less money available to him (not really a viable option for what he's trying to accomplish). This smells like a last-contract-of-his-careeer cash grab. The best offer between the Bills and Bengals wins, IMO. The Bills shouldn't budge. If he wants more than they're offering and Cincy is willing to pay then, buh-bye Coles.
  18. Housh is a west coast guy and supposedly wanted to play closer to home. That's why he chose Seattle over Minnesota. Did he even visit an east coast team? I don't think the Bills would have had a snowball's chance in hell of signing him unless the money was outrageously more than anybody else. Cincy was probably the only 'east' team with a chance of landing him. Not really fair to criticize the Bills FO on this one, IMO.
  19. It could be worse...you could be a Washington Foreskins fan. Watching your owner play fantasy football by signing the most expensive free agents available and having nothing to show for it...all the while charging you for a PSL for just the right to buy an outrageously overpriced ticket and buy even more ridiculously priced concessions and merchandise. Have fun with that. If you want to continue being a Bills fan, pain, heartache, and frustration come with the territory. It's kind of the Buffalo version of a PSL...the continual kick in the crotch you endure for supporting your team.
  20. Your original post (above) certainly makes it seem as if you believe that at least Curry will be available @ 11. Hypothetically, if Curry and Crabtree were there...I'd grab either one of them (Curry first). I agree with you 100% there; however, as the saying goes, you can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which fills up first.
  21. You're living in an absolute dream world if you honestly believe that Curry will be available to the Bills at 11. He won't. You can take that to the bank...and it will be a minor miracle if Crabtree falls that far, workout or not.
  22. Jesus H! No more reclamation projects, please. This guy has had multiple oportunities with several teams and has been pedestrian at best. Just say no. Thanks for the report though, Astro.
  23. If they never win another game, it will be too soon for me. After the dulfelons and cheatriots*, they are tied with the Dallas plastic-faces as my most despised team.
  24. Have you been talking to Zach Thomas' sister?
  25. In hell...with Ralph.
