  1. Apparently signed by Denver. 2 years, $10 million. http://www.milehighreport.com/2011/8/2/2340801/broncos-ink-defensive-lineman-ty-warren http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6828725/ty-warren-denver-broncos-agree-2-year-10m-deal-source-says
  2. Maybe so, but this isn't just any position, it's left tackle. The position on which franchises arguably place the most value, along with defensive end. Teams just don't go cutting LTs worth a damn. They're way too valuable and hard to replace. McKinnie was a very good, albeit lazy, player in his day and would certainly have been the better choice by the Bills over the even lazier Mike Williams. However, his best days are behind him. The Vikings certainly think so. No thanks. Pass.
  3. Is he as good as Kelvin Hayden?
  4. The three Bills are, of course, Jim Kelly, Drew Bledsoe, & Joe Ferguson.
  5. Yeah...I'm sure you know more about LBs than Dave Wannstedt. Three days into free agency, just starting camp, no preseason games played...do you honestly think this roster and all of the positions are set in stone?! I know this franchise has sucked for years but this staff has barely had a chance to cut it's teeth and some of you act like we've already gone 0-16. For cripes sakes, take a deep breath and back away from the ledge...
  6. Good point...can't hurt to get him some exposure there either in case there's an emergency inside this season.
  7. Nice analysis, B. I think a lot of people who initially complained about this signing will be singing a different tune this season.
  8. Sorry that he's now your headache but I'm glad that he's one less problem to deal with in the AFC East.
  9. Good thing we let him "shop around" with the promise to come back in a couple of days.
  10. Probably the worst kept "secret" in the organization but thanks for the confirmation.
  11. What's interesting to me in this whole thing is that earlier in the day when everyone, everywhere was saying it would be Dallas or the Jest, the Jest or Dallas...Adam Schefter said that there could be a "mystery team" involved. When they pressed him, he said something to the effect of "there are 30 other teams out there and only 2 teams are in on the best free agent on the market?". Then he just sat there with a sly, little smile on his face. I don't know if he was just speculating or actually had some inside info and wasn't spilling for some reason.
  12. Au contraire, mon ami. "Maybin's Usefulness" = Tackling dummy. Training camp is upon us, after all.
  13. Please tell your 'boys to stop fooling around and sign Asomugha away from the NJ Jest.
  14. "To allow Burnett to shop around"??? WTF? Hey, Kevin...go see if someone else can wow you and we'll sit and hope you're still around for us. Unless this is at Burnett's insistence, I don't get this logic at all. If you want a guy, go lock him up. If he gets to someone else's facility, they may not let him out without signing him...happens all the time.
  15. I saw this segment, as well. I can't stand Dukes and it has little to do with the Bills. He's a blowhard, know-nothing who tries to be relevant by stirring the pot and trying to elicit a reaction. The next time he says something smart will be the first. He belongs on ESPN, not the NFL's "showcase" channel. I can at least stomach Sapp sometimes but I find it aggravating that he can't string together two coherent sentences. The NFLN is awful. I can't believe they can't do more with that forum than constantly show the 2007 Indy/NE* Playoff game or the same 3 or 4 America's Game episodes. All the former players and all of the archived film footage and Dukes and these shows are all they can present?? What a waste of a potentially great channel.
  16. Great! Get to work, rook.
  17. And maybe he's also weighing the pros and cons of one versus the other, talking to friends & family, making sure he makes (in his eyes) the right decision. This could be a life-altering choice. Perhaps the biggest of his life. Maybe he's just taking his time and sleeping on it. I'm going against conventional board "wisdom" and saying he chooses Buffalo. GO BILLS!!!
  18. Who knows...maybe it'll turn out to be 'Lucky 7' for the Bills. It may not be 'Black Jack' but it still adds up to '21'. And, if it doesn't work out, maybe they'll get their 'Luck' at the top of the draft next year.
  19. Maybe it's the mods' way of merging two like threads.
  20. Well, he already broke the bank so that's a start...
  21. Bingo, Ramius! I'm all for building your foundation (and the majority of your team) via the draft but come on...you also have to supplement with a couple of quality free agents because there's no way you can fix every area of need with the draft or even UDFAs. Like you said, you don't break the bank with stupid moves, ala the Deadskins, but you don't completely ignore an important avenue that's available to you either. That's just cutting off your nose to spite your face.
  22. Great points, Kelly. I hear ya, Punch, but that's how it goes sometimes. I at least want them in there scratching and clawing. They may not be the heavyweight in the ring but at least by being in this they have a puncher's chance (no pun intended). Honestly, as disappointed as I'll be if they don't get him, I'd be even more disappointed if I knew they weren't even trying. If we lose out to Atlanta it will suck but to the victor go the spoils. Keep fightin' the good fight, Buddy! Agreed, Dan. Like I said to Punch..at least they're actively trying to implement a plan. They may stikeout on Clabo but at least they'll go down swinging for the fences.
  23. An 11 year drop into the NFL abyss will necessitate Buffalo overpaying for outside free agents. That's just how it's going to be, at least until they can show some real signs of competitive life. That said, go ahead and overpay, Buddy...I want this guy on the Bills.
  24. Good job by the front office...a much needed re-sign at a very reasonable price and length. Welcome back, Drayton!
  25. Considering you have 53 posts in almost 6 years time, no...I don't remember. Honestly. But keep patting yourself on the back. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters...
