Will Buddy be the GM for the rest of Ralph's life?
ExWNYer replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to be morbid but Buddy will be 72 in December...there's a possibility he doesn't outlive Ralph. -
2011 Buffalo Bills: "At least our uniforms are good."

It was probably just cramps...he'll be fine after a Midol.

" 'They' put me in the right situation"
ExWNYer replied to FightinIrishBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the contrary. I'd say it's more likely now than it would have been 40 years ago. And as someone mentioned, previously, there was Perry Fewell. On the whole, I usually enjoy your posts...but you're way off on this one. There really is no basis for your comment. -
Should be an interesting 1st quarter in Denver

I couldn't care less. He's not on the Bills...and I've never liked the Broncos. -

Why let facts get in the way of a good argument... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blackhistory2007/news/story?id=2762569 http://www.nfl.com/player/jamesharris/2515950/profile -
"Seriously, dude...I'm a QB. You can't even beat ME at thumb wrestling?!" (BTW...what's up with 'Heat Miser' in the background on the far left??)

Of course nothing will come of this. It's not like NE* was wronged. They're talking about Buffalo & Cincy, the two most irrelevant franchises in the corporate greed league. If true, this would be the ultimate "do as I say, not as I do" on the part of the NFL. How hypocritical would it be to hold any team accountable in the future for tampering? -
'Conniption Fitz'
-
Agreed. He's a nice story and I'm pulling for him but he's got a long way to go before becoming a legit NFL player. At this point in his development, maybe he should be nicknamed 'The Mime'...seen but not heard (from in the game).

I was impressed with Aaron Williams' play for a first timer. His INT was a thing of beauty but he did make some mistakes, which is to be expected; however, "he by far has the most upside and promise" is sheer hyperbole. That distinction belongs to Dareus.

If not, there's really no point in playing him. Otherwise, just cut him now. What's the use in seeing if he's "improved" against scrubs?

It's earmarked for the soon to be "mine, ALL mine!!!" coffers of one Mary Wilson.

Andre Reed in Sports Nation ESPN poll for 2012 HOF
ExWNYer replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree with you guys. It's an absolute joke that Brown is ahead of Reed. I have less of a problem with Carter but Andre could run circles around him, as well, and deserves to be there over CC. Carter gets way too much pub and benefits from the "I've heard of him!" factor due to his stupid "C'mon, man!" schtick on ESPeNis. Art Monk had to wait forever and had very similar numbers to Andre but he finally made it into the Hall and so too will Reed. Just maybe not next year. I only voted for three: Reed, Tagliabue, and Ray Guy. Tags followed on the heels of Pete Rozelle, continued building upon what Rozelle created and took the NFL to even higher heights. I know a punter will (probably) never make it into the HOF but Guy was amazing and revolutionized the punting game and consistently changed field position in the Raiders' favor. He was a weapon and will never be fully appreciated by those who weren't fortunate enough to have seen him play. GO ANDRE!! GO BILLS!!! -
eball, I'd expect Mark Ludwiczak's assessment to be fair. He's the Associate Editor of 'Bills Digest' and the main contributing writer along with Chris Brown. That said, I agree that it would be refreshing to see more even-handed breakdowns of the Bills. I don't expect (nor do I want) Pollyanna pieces but I also don't want the completely negative, lazy garbage spewed by much of the national media and a large segment of negative Nellies on this board. No team is completely great nor is it completely awful. Too many try to paint a black & white absolute when there are so many variables that have yet to come into play and should lead to a shade of gray. That's what Ludwiczak's done in his piece.

Who else loves the white helmets?
ExWNYer replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree. BTW, I think I'm one of the rare few who love all three versions of the helmet...the white with the standing, red bison...the white with the charging logo...and the red with the charging logo. I would have been happy with any of them but I really like this one. As mentioned by someone else, they just have a clean look. Very sharp. As long as they didn't radically change the logo or the color scheme, ala the Sabres' "goat head" fiasco, I'd have been happy...loved all of the previous unis, too, except for those decade long Donahoe-era fuglies. I'm really happy they finally put some identifying marks on the jerseys to make them recognizable as the Bills. I would've preferred blue pants for the unis but that's a small complaint...can't have it all, I guess. Small correction...it was 1974, the Bills only playoff appearance of the '70s. I remember when they changed, I was just a kid and really disappointed at first because the red, standing bison was all I'd known but the charging logo quickly grew on me. 1973 was the last year of the standing, red bison. That was the year O.J. rushed for his then record setting 2003 yards. I agree with the rest of your sentiment though. -
What did you expect? Big money from Buddy Nix? Tweet on in San Fran.

Bills owner makes generous donation to Hall of Fame
ExWNYer replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know why but the first thing that popped into my sick mind when I saw the title of your thread was that Ralph had decided to have his head cryogenically frozen ala Ted Williams and then shipped to Canton. -
Great report...thanks for the update and keep 'em coming.
