  1. Me, too. I want a dominant pass rush in the worst way. I'm so tired of the secondary getting eaten alive due to lack of pressure on the opposing QB. The Bills have a ton of draft picks to address other needs plus they could likely add depth/help with a solid, low cost FA or two. Go all in on Mario. If he isn't interested of appears far too pricey, switch gears and move on to 'plan B'.
  2. Agree with all of the above. I love RGIII's potential and think the kid has a great demeanor but this was an irresponsible deal by Washington, IMHO. They're not going to win with him this year, anyway. Had they held off on this deal, they likely would have been drafting in the top 5 next year (not that they won't anyway). There are several "franchise" QBs entering the draft next year. The deadskins would probably have been able to land one of them at their own slot in '13 rather than pay the king's ransom that they did. Seems like the typical, splashy, knee-jerk move by 'Little Dummy' Snyder. Only time will tell whether or not this trade works out for them but their history says, "no".
  3. Agreed, Nos. Nice take on the situation.
  4. bender is right, stoj. There's a pic of Stevie but nowhere is there any mention of him. The three they reference are here: "Vincent Jackson, Marques Colston and even Mario Manningham are among the best receivers the Redskins could pursue." But as has been pointed out, it's bleacher report...'nuff said.
  5. Agreed. I'm thrilled Chandler's back. Color me unimpressed with Bennett who in all likelihood would've been a much pricier option without a major upgrade at the position. Dallas really likes John Phillips who's been breathing down Bennett's neck and making a real push to be the #2 TE behind Jason Witten. Good move by the FO...welcome back, Scott. Again, spot on. These "they better not spend too much on player X" whiners are the inbred cousins of the "Ralph's cheap" crowd. Bingo. The Bills got their guys in Stevie & Chandler at a price they deemed fair to both the team and the players. They're inked...that's what matters. The "Jr. capologist wannabes" need to let it go.
  6. Nope. They slapped the Franchise Tag on him last Friday. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=nfp-20120302_cardinals_place_franchise_tag_on_calais_campbell
  7. I think you've finally unearthed the 'Official Thinking Cap of TSW', Senator.
  8. You're in a minority of at least two, Bob. I agree with you.
  9. Exactly. I'd take him in a nanosecond, if he were there and, hopefully, the Bills would, too. That being said, he'll be gone before the Bills get a shot at him.
  10. He's not going to Dallas to be their third TE. They're high on UVA's John Phillips who was pushing Martellus Bennett for the second tight end position. They certainly wouldn't pay him more to be their third TE than the Bills or another team would to be a starter. Chandler will go where the money is and where he has a chance to start. Plain and simple.
  11. I am and I do.
  12. It would be just like this organization to go out and sign the wrong Peyton...
  13. This is not worst case, DrD. There is a risk for SJ if he is tagged. Suppose he and the Bills can't come to a deal before the season and he plays under the one year tender and shreds his knee. What then? Maybe he comes back a half step slower from his already not elite speed. Will he cash in big as a possession receiver at that point? Doubtful. There is risk for both sides. If the Bills let him test the free agent waters, they may lose him. If Stevie plays under the tender, he may suffer an injury which keeps him from ever scoring his monster payday. I don't believe any player really likes playing under the tag for one year as it's Russian roulette. I agree with you in the end though that the Bills sign him long-term.
  14. I love this kid's potential. Some team will end up with a great player...I just hope that it's not a divisional rival.
  15. Exactly. Astro, doesn't the fact that he only did 19 reps at the combine concern you? It does me. Is this kid going to have a lazy work ethic and become the next Mike Williams at the pro level?
  16. You got that from this? Seriously??: "TSH: You said you were a free agent. Would you like to see yourself back in Buffalo? SC: That’d be great. I’d love to be back in Buffalo. But this is where the game turns into a business. I’ve been on the bad end of the business four times—I’ve been cut four times—and you want to make the most out of the opportunities, and you don’t get that many opportunities. You’ve got to maximize your value in the league." It ain't personal boys, it's business. He's bounced around the league and finally had the opportunity to start and made the most of it. Good for him and good for the Bills. But does he owe the Bills any loyalty? No. Do they owe him? No. It's a business, plain and simple. He's not a superstar and this may be his one and only shot at grabbing the brass ring. If somebody blows him out of the water with an offer and the Bills don't want to match or come close, then he should take it and run. If his offer from the Bills is not significantly different from that of any other team(s), I believe he should remain with the Bills. There is something to be said for continuity and playing in an offense that fits your abilities. Let's see how this plays out. If he hits the market, it doesn't mean that he won't sign with the Bills. He's said he'd "love to be back in Buffalo". That's all you can ask from any Bills free agent. Now the business end of things determines whether or not that happens.
  17. Agreed that Bleacher Report is not a credible source and shouldn't be cited but, in fairness to the OP, there's this: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7613699/philadelphia-eagles-open-offers-desean-jackson-sources-say All of the above. The Bills need to get Stevie back in the fold AND sign (or draft) a big, speedy, true #1 to play opposite him. DeSean 'Undersized, Bad Attitude' Jackson is not that guy. The Bills don't need a frail, 'me first' locker room cancer. What good is a burner if his QB can't hit him on a 9 route, anyway? No thanks. Let somebody else overpay for his services.
  18. Agreed. He's a stiff and I hope the Bills don't even entertain the thought of signing him...but it would be typical of this organization to think they could replace SJ with the likes of Robert Meachem. Ugh.
  19. It would be nice if (for once), on the rare occasions they decide to spend quality money, they'd strike gold on the right player(s) instead of dropping major ducats on the Langston Walkers & Derrick Dockerys of the world. Their inability to determine the proper people on who to spend money is more disturbing to me than the perception/fact that they don't always seem willing to spend.
  20. Isn't it usually?
  21. ^ ^ ^ Ditto. Thanks for the memories, Larry. I, for one, will miss your work. Enjoy your well earned retirement.
  22. Sirius NFL Radio just reported this a few minutes ago, as well, in their 'Two Minute Drill' update.
  23. Ha! That's just wrong...at least BB's are natural.
  24. I hope this is true. It would be a nice, positive start to the off-season. Chandler & Urbik next, please.
