  1. I hear ya. I glance at it but rarely post there. At one point when this thread started he was barking about his dad fighting in the Korean War and having lost friends in the conflict so jokes about bombing were not funny to him or some such overly sensitive nonsense. I get that some people found Stevie's comments funny and others found them not funny or immature. Agree with him, disagree with him. Whatever. Live and let live.
  2. Apparently, 'dog14787'. His knickers appeared to be in a knot in the Shoutbox.
  3. Too old, too slow. Pass.
  4. No way in hell the Bills take a guard at 8. That's a horrible prediction, even by Kiper "standards".
  5. Humor is the key word here. This is totally a non-issue. For USA Today to run with it is ludicrous. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment by Stevie, nothing more than a joke on his part. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously. The 'PC Police' who jump him for this need to chill out. There's nothing funny about what's going on in North Korea but people use humor as a coping mechanism to diffuse tense situations all the time. Either you like Stevie or you don't and those who don't will look for any and everything to use against him.
  6. He was also the predecessor to Joe Gibbs in Washington, guiding the team to three consecutive 3rd place finishes and an overall record of 24-24. R.I.P.
  7. If they draft Tretter, do you think they'd attempt to sign Luke Tasker as a UDFA? Just curious. JC & Luke are thick as thieves and the latter has ties to WNY and the Bills. BTW, I think your thoughts above on LG are a distinct possibility.
  8. Those are RIDICULOUS! Everyone knows that the Bills should bring in THIS guy if they need arms: I guess they'd have absolutely no interest in ol' Venus de Milo but, then again, this is the Bills we're talking about:
  9. - "2013 Buffalo Bills Football: The Irrelevant In The Room" - "2013 Buffalo Bills Football: SSDY" - "2013 Buffalo Bills Football: Hey...at least the tailgating is good" - "2013 Buffalo Bills Football: We won't throw Fitz when we lose" - "2013 Buffalo Bills Football: 2014 is only a season away"
  10. A) Long term deal coming for his backfield mate Byrd? B) Going to be traded for a 7th so Buddy can have his full complement of draft picks...and draft a cheaper DB. Nope. Like the red, love the white. Wouldn't that put snail tracks on his face?
  11. Amen (pun intended). I don't get the irrational love for Tebow. He's far from good. He'll be on his 3rd team in the fourth year of his career. That doesn't happen to great QBs...or even good ones for that matter. In fact, it's pathetic. He's nothing more than a media and circus side show. Nice guy, lame QB. Those with a man-crush on him want him to be more than he is but they can't see the forest for the trees.
  12. Make the right decision...insist on Carubba Collusion. Oh, wait...never mind.
  13. I hate to break it to you but your memory is failing...Gary Marangi was Fergy's backup in the mid-'70s, not the late '60s. The 2013 Bills have talent on the roster. The '84-'85 Bills were almost completely devoid of talent save for RB Greg Bell ('84) and Andre Reed & Bruce Smith (both arriving in '85). The franchise started turning the corner in '86 with the arrival of Bill Polian, Marv Levy, & Jim Kelly. Is there a parallel between that team and the 2013 team? By all accounts, Doug Whaley will be taking over for Buddy Nix and there's a new sheriff in town in the form of Doug Marrone. Can they get their franchise-type QB like Polian & Levy? Time will tell. (Yes, I know Kelly was drafted in '83 [pre-Polian] but Polian finally got him to Buffalo)
  14. FWIW...an article on nfl.com: "So what next for the defensive end? We see five potential landing spots..." Bills, Dolphins, & Pats* named. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000151273/article/elvis-dumervil-five-potential-nfl-landing-spots
  15. I doubt they'd have his man boobs in Canton...
  16. I agree wholeheartedly on all points, Bob. Like it or not, most QBs go higher in real life than they should or do in mocks.
  17. I like Manuel and, generally speaking, I like Mayock. But for those ready to anoint him for sainthood, consider his pre-draft opinions on Cam Newton & Andrew Luck. He's far from infallible and I don't trust his assessment of QBs. Comparing Luck to Bradford?? Bradford couldn't carry Luck's jock. On Newton: “Something tells me that he’ll be content to be a multimillionaire who’s pretty good,” Mayock said. ”And doesn’t get it done for me.” While admitting Newton has handled the pre-draft process well, it’s telling that a final evaluation of Newton (and others) often comes down to a gut feeling, even for the best draft analysts and decision makers. And Mayock just isn’t feeling Newton. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/25/mayock-on-cam-newton-i-dont-know-how-great-he-wants-to-be/ On Luck: Mayock just doesn’t see Luck as some sort of “once in a lifetime” prospect like others have indicated. (Yes, others means ESPN in this case.) Mayock compared Luck’s talent level more to someone like Sam Bradford. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/15/mayock-luck-is-great-but-not-a-once-in-a-lifetime/
  18. $5 million, per the scroll on NBC Sports Network.
  19. Agreed. Indeed.
  20. One man's trash is another man's treasure...
  21. No, thanks. There are teams drafting behind the Bills who genuinely need a left tackle. I'd rather see if the Bills could entice one of them to trade up rather than take Johnson there.
